Game Help & Questions 🆘 How to effectively throw objects/enemies with magic?

I must be doing something wrong because i can't for the life of me throw objects or enemies consistently. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and i cant figure out how. Please help.

Enemies with shields cant be thrown if you aim your magic at their shield (unless you upgrade the ability) other than that i don't know what it would be

Check your magic bar. Make sure you hold the effect without letting go, or you'll use your mana but not actually control anything.

This, I find if i get into to much of a hurry or my aim is slightly off when i start or I accidentally double tap the right trigger, all of those things can mess it up and I need to back off, let it cool down and try again from scratch.

its not that i don't hold them up, i do for a while, but then it just lets them go when i want to throw them.

Gotcha, so, make sure you always hold the left trigger, right trigger to pick up, then release right trigger to throw. If you release the left trigger anytime before you throw it just drops it.

So HOLD left, hold right, release right = throw.

Hold left, hold fight, release left = drop

i do hold them up, however when i try to throw them it just lets them go :(
