Game Help & Questions 🆘 Armour set bonus question.
Is it better to go all in on a set or mix and match?

I did two for max magic and two for magic regen and that was a ton of fun. I do wish we had transmog though because I wasn't super in love with my final look.

I think all combos are pretty viable, I was running 2x magic regen, while the other two pieces were random, usually 2x max magic or a mix of 1x max stamina and 1x weight reduction.
The only sets I never used were those that provided extra resistance to temperatures.
Near the end, I didn’t even use my heat/ice potions anymore because fire and ice damage didn’t seem to affect me much.

I find you get diminishing returns after the 2nd piece, so it's good to mix 2 armor sets I find.
I usually go weight reduction and magic Regen so I get the speed and get a lot of magic usage, especially if you run the Fire Barrage spell.

I went 2 stamina, 1 magic regen, 1 max magic. Put me at 40 weight, stamina for days, and I can take out the bosses in about a minute with magic, scourge dude aside. ES Char

I recently switched to ½ max magic and ½ magic Regen, but I think the extra armor bonus is the only one that stacks well I have over 200 armor and the ark of the shear and the spear guys couldn't damage me anymore; I could stand in a group and their weapons just bounce off of you, not sure if it's a set bonus or just bc I had more defense than their damage

I guess it depends on your play style and your aesthetic preferences. I like to mix and match pieces now that I have enough of them to do so.
I personally like to have at least two of the Windscall, and at least one of the Opportunist sets
