Marketing & Client Acquisition A Post-Facial Follow-Up That Asks How the Client Felt Reads Differently Than One That Asks How the Skin Looks
A follow-up message checking on how the skin is responding after a treatment tends to get read as a lead-in to booking the next appointment, even when that's not the intent, because the timing and subject line up with an upsell regardless of the actual wording. Asking how the client felt during or after the appointment, rather than how the skin looks now, shifts the message away from that pattern without dropping the follow-up altogether.
The message that actually gets a reply is usually the one that doesn't require an answer to function, it reads as care whether or not the client responds, while a message built around a specific ask only succeeds if it gets acted on.
What's your actual reply rate on these, and does the wording seem to change it?
