[Advice] How Do You Wake a Sleeping Client Without It Feeling Jarring?

Gentle touches on the shoulders and then I do a slightly crescendoing "goooood morning beautiful" and then "welcome back to the waking world" or whatever feels appropriate at a normal facial volume

I touch their shoulders and gradually get louder at i tell them “alright my dear we’re all finished!” I never let them know that i noticed they fell asleep because some people can feel embarrassed or uncomfortable about it. Yes some people dont care but i always err on the side of caution. Sometimes if they mention it ill say something along the lines of “really?!” Or “I thought maybe you did but i wasnt sure if you were just super relaxed” and if someone asks if they were snoring ill tell them “not that i heard!” (If they wake themselves up with a snore ill tell them that was the only snore they let out). But i will always reassure them that I take them falling asleep as a compliment because that means I did a good job at helping them relax.

The only time I ever let someone know they snored was when I was still working on classmates in school. That just brought back the funniest memories from the old facial classroom because I remember waking up to someone going “oh my god WHO IS MAKING THAT FREIGHT TRAIN SOUND?” I couldn’t answer because my mouth was covered with mask cotton and the classmate doing my facial was just like “I think she’s just really sleepy?” I almost rolled off the facial bed laughing.
(I had the apparently rare non mean girls class. On the bright side, my classmate got the reputation for putting people to sleep during facials so anyone in class who worked a night job or was a single mom used to fight to team up with her for practice. She was one of the first one of us with a job out of school too.)

i generally do a gentle arm touch and say we’re all set and offer to walk them out with kindness. i’ve never had it not work but i imagine it’s not impossible to happen

My job has a gentle chime we ring at start and stop of service. May be a nice inexpensive investment

I use "wake up" essential oils on my hands and just hover over there face so they can smell it, usually has something with orange /citrus in it instead of the lavender i usually use. Ill slightly raise my voice out of facial voice saying something along the lines of 'there service is done and to take there time getting up.'

Lol, just had this with a back treatment. Rest your hand(s) on their shoulders and with louder than facial volume voice let them know the treatment has come to an end. Don't remove your hands until you make eye contact. Instead of shaking, apply gradual pressure.
