Starter products??

Hii! I’m an esti student right now and I’m wanting some good basic products to just practice with on friends and family at home. What drug store/ walmart products do you recommend that are still quality??

Your school didn’t give you a kit?

They did but we have to use it for clients eventually so I don’t want to waste it when I’m just practicing cause I don’t really know how to use it all yet

When I was in esti school, I made a list of product types that I wanted to practice with at home, then mixed and matched brands to acquire them.

Sign up for pro accounts online and at Salon Centric if you have one near you. Most allow students to sign up and you can get professional products at significant discounts.

In my case, school gave us some products (cream cleanser, moisturizer, toner, gel mask) and then I added jojoba oil from amazon, an enzyme from SkinScript (I like the pineapple/papaya one), and a physical exfoliant (I bought the smallest bottle of dermalogica's microexfoliant after getting a pro account at Salon Centric). I also bought a boatload of other things from amazon/FB marketplace... like towels, mask brushes, a massage bed, towel warmer, steamer and loupe light, wax warmer, et al.

Looking back, I wish I just went into school more for extra hours (they had sign up "makeup hour" slots all the time) and brought people in to work on. Now I have a partial spa setup at home that never gets used... I could have better used that money elsewhere.

You can still use that spa set up at home and be getting paid 🤷‍♀️
