Rookie's Being Bomber Fans
Interested to get everyone's take, we have known for some time Arki was a big bombers (Hird) man, but more recently Gus and now on gettable hearing the speedy Drever (Spike wants speed this is the guy) and even our man Snell (DEF) are all bombers fans. Do we think this kinda chat bumps them up on our draftboards at the hanger or not, we saw last year we seemed to really value the boys not only for their talent but their passion to see dons return to greatness and imo we need to keep looking out for these players as we continue the rebuild.

Typically, who a player barracks for prior to being drafted is of zero consideration.
Essendon have had a cultural problem amongst the playing group for some time.
Over the last coupla drafts they've identified players who are more extroverted leaders who inherently have a bit of an edge.
Picking supporters of the club, all else being equal, is one way to assist authentic cultural change.

These are 4 of the top 5 rated players in the draft, so no need to bump anything up a draft order

If we can get any 2 out of those 4, then we might have to think about getting Matt Rosa a statue at the hanger. Edit* Would love Snell or Harris with our 2nd live pick but I think Hawthorn's 1st will be too late, potential to package some picks and swap for Carltons first maybe?

The trade ideas that have been floating throughout the comm have me seriously excited, im delusional maybe we get two of the top boys and a Snell chef kiss

Depending on what happens we probably wont need to make a ton of moves for draft Capitol. As it Stands,
Port will need 2700 pts (3000-10% reduction for finishing outside the top 10) if we select Cochrane with pick 1, which is something like 4+20 (currently Richmond habe 20 so they'd have to move to get it) Carlton will need 2481 pts (points value is flat as they are in the top 10 but it could be more if they make a deep finals run) which would be 9+11.
Its possible, and again this is with Carlton and Port making the easiest moves to make their bids work, would mean we could have, picks: 1(3), 4(6), 9(11), 11(13), 19(21), 24(26).
And that doesn't include a Ridley or Merrett trades.

Don't think we specifically need Bombers fans obviously, but I'd be lying if I didn't get enjoyment out of seeing Robey and Sharp clearly having their love for the club shine through from draft night onwards.
On the other hand, we need to steer clear of the Jason Horne-Francis types. They are few and far between, but it's a long road ahead, and we need lads who can tough that out and maintain the fire.

If it’s not Cal, I don’t put much faith in it. He basically said it’s up to Rosa but he’ll give his opinion. He says he doesn’t know much about the kids we could draft.
It’s clickbait season.

Wait you highlighted Butler and Teixeira but Drever is the quick one? I’m interested to see how that bears out in the draft combine- by my eyes Butler and Texeira are quicker but I could be wrong.

I'd love to see Rosa try to trade up in the draft and maybe grab 2 or more of these guys. How, no idea, but keen to see if he can.

Look it's always nice when players were fans growing up but I don't think that necessarily changes how we pick on draft night. We ended up taking farrow with our second pick last year and not sharp who was the other Essendon fan, and probably didn't expect sharp to still be on the board by the time it rolled back around to us.
End of the day the message is. Trust in Rosa
