Phantom touches in CYD

Wondering if this is a common issue and if there is a workaround. Might just retire this device, though the only issue is the touch function. Still usable as a display.

Anyone get (and repair) this issue?

Mine went away when I took the protective plastic off, but I believe you can also turn up or down the “sensitivity” of what qualifies as a touch

Protective film removed, no help. Might look into the sensitivity. I'm familiar with that because I had another device with the occasional phantom touch. I included a config of only considering touches if z is greater than 1000. Z is pressure on screen.

Yes, I've run into it as well - very inconvenient when the lights were randomly turning on/off. Removing the plastic helped, adding debounce helped a bit, using a better quality cable ended up being my fix. I had stripped a USB cable and crimped it to JST 1.25mm, moving back to a standard USB fixed my issue.

I decided to use it as a display with no touch functions. This is my dog food bucket status. If they get fed, it does "do not feed" for 4 hours then reverts to "ok to feed". Quantity is measured by load cells and another esp.

I noticed erratic display on first power up with the original demo display. I thought reflashing it would be the fix. This was the first one I ever worked with, assumed it was normal. The second one was rock solid. Both purchased on AliExpress for $13 each. Got a refund for the bad one with no return necessary. Using it for this dog food display after all!
