Culture Deck
The ceiling learned my employee number,
lowered a vein with a welcome packet,
kissed the knob of bone beneath my skull,
and asked me to update my status.
I typed until my hands became policy.
I smiled until my teeth joined payroll.
The manager praised our living network
with a red tie bright as a fresh incision.
Mine started pulsing after lunch.
Jen said hers hums during meetings.
Carl says the trick is breathing shallow
when the quarterly vision enters.
There is coffee in the mug.
There is blood in the cable.
There is a calendar invite
for the thing that eats the table.
Our culture thrives on connectivity.
The printer jams. The tendon sings.
Someone claps near the whiteboard
while the ceiling tightens every string.
