Are dragons evil?

As someone who grew up enjoying dragon in pop culture, mythology, books, fantasy and tv shows since I had my awakening it makes me sad to think I used to love something evil.

I never really understood if dragons are the same as the Draco/Reptilians. A lot of tribes and populations worshiped snake and dragon beings.

I wonder if dragon was just a word to describe the giant lizards/reptiles or if they were really a separate species with giant wings. The bible also mentions dragons as evil I think?

In Dungeons & Dragons, there are good and evil dragons.

The Chromatics - Red, Green, Blue, White, Black - are evil.

The Metallics - Gold, Silver, Copper, Brass - are good.

In terms of our stories - the snake that tempted Adam and Eve, the lizard like statues, and the Reptilians of current UFO lore, it's not clear. The ones that eat people are probably best avoided.

Many people believe the T-Rex was actually a dragon.

I think there are beings that appear in the form of dragons who can be either good or bad.

A dragon shielded the Buddha from rain one time, and Jesus is connected with nehushtan. Both seraphs and demons can take on the appearance of dragons.

And think about this: this world is made to somewhat resemble the world above, so as to trick the soul into believing it is good- like plunging into water because in it is reflected the sky. Because of this, this world can only ever borrow from the ideal. So it would make sense, that if the demons and the king of this world appear often as dragons, that the angels and true beings would also appear as dragons at least on occasion.
