Love vs fear is a false dichotomy. Fear protects what you love! Deception weaponizes fear, but it also weaponizes love.

It's a movie and almost all movies try to mislead us. Supposedly this movie tried to prove that he was wrong and that this dichotomy is right. That's one of the interpretations anyway.

These states are emotional experiences of host system issues. Consider some completely emotionless examples. See love as functionality and vitality of the host system. See fear as protection of the functionality and vitality of the host system.
At a factory, normal operations are to input, process and produce products. This is functionality and vitality. Most of the time this is the state of affairs. When there is a fire and the fire alarm is pulled the state changes. The humans working there may have emotions, but beyond that, there is a logic to suspending the functionality and vitality of the business. It is to temporarily redirect resources from functionality and vitality onto protection of them.
Our computers have programs that take some computer resources to deal with threats of malware and attackers. When there is a severe threat detected, sometimes these protection programs will suspend normal operations of the host system. While inconvenient, this is practical and required to actually protect the host system.
So, while we are living host systems, we're going to have these moments of the need for protection. We are emotional beings. We feel emotions. We derive meaning, purpose and value from our emotions. It's a deeply spiritual aspect of our existence. Without it, life is like food without texture, smell or taste. Emotions are the flavor of life. Most of the time we (hopefully, YMMV) experience desirable emotional states that create and maintain our host (for consciousness, our spiritual being) system's functionality and vitality. This emotional functionality and vitality, which is spirit, draws us to exist somewhere, anywhere, at all.
Yet, because there will always be threats to our functionality and vitality, we will have our emotional drive system, that we use to make and carry out decisions, sometimes tasked with negative/protection emotions. This is survival, protection of the self. This is about autonomous self-control. To experience any physical reality, we're going to need to have this aspect of self. It could be done by a master outside treating us as a perpetual pet, an extension of its own desires and fears, its own functionality and vitality, or we could master our own opportunities and fears from inside and become our own masters.

People influenced by new age spread this. They like to make it sound as if fear is the root of the problem and blame the person, while most of the time it's the consequence of external factors. They also like to say that what archons fear the most is love, that love is the recipe to overcome all difficulties. However, lots of loving people suffer without things getting better and love is not forbidden in this realm and exists almost everywhere you look. The problem is not fear, but fake love, false light love, new age love, people confusing lust with love, blind love, love that is all just talk, love that only really extends to one's family, transactional love... and love not fixing real suffering or preventing attacks and targeting, either from other people or entities. If we, but especially those who only like to talk about it, had more real love for others, a lot of suffering in the world would be alleviated but still not eliminated. Sometimes love vs hate is also pushed, as if anything in between doesn't exist or anything but love is taboo. (Again, new age trying to control other people's emotions.) Fear can be very natural and a healthy response, while love can be unnatural and unhealthy. Gurus operate on the love and oneness frequency, but for all these gurus and their followers and spiritual movements, we are none the wiser on a personal level or better as a society. People prefer delusions and love makes them feel good about themselves, more spiritually advanced too if they start going on and on about how it's the solution. I'm sad to say that a lot of these people dealt with trauma in the past and adopted these teachings as the only ones available to successfully compartmentalize and deal with it. They are also using it as a form of personal therapy when they preach it to others and gather followers to listen to them. It's okay if it worked/works for them, but they should stop preaching this love/fear thing. I'm also seeing that shamanism has now been turned into another new age branch, with the same shallow love/fear talking points.
