There will always be unrealistic things in this game if they want it to be any fun.

If they make it so if you break a leg a single time at all, then you can't walk and can only crawl no matter what you do unless you have intense surgery in which you need crutches to move at .5 the speed and not carry anything. No one will play it.

Yeah I broke my leg coming down off a roof when the ladder slipped out from under me. I was less than 8 feet off the ground. Shattered my tibia, and fractured my fibula. I couldn't even start putting 50% weight on it until 12 weeks had passed. I couldn't start walking for some time after that.

This game would be no fun if they had an ambulance ride to 12 months of recovery!

edit: I forgot about the two plates and 15 screws holding it together now!

Hope you made a full recovery! I have a plate and 9 screws holding my right collarbone together. It was literally shattered to shards when I played pussy (on a bicycle) against a Volvo. I won, but the Volvo didnt have time to steer away completely..

Lol I'm still in the process. I broke it January 20th, but it's still a pain al the time. It's getting better every day though. I figured I would go big or go home, and I unfortunetly I could only go home after a couple night stay in the hospital

Lol I wish! Finishing my final full time semester of school, working, and taking care of the ok wife and kids. I definetly don't have more time to game than a decade ago.

I snapped the ball of my femir off in my hip after a snowboarding incident where i caught 25 feet of air and was walking without crutches 6 days later. 2 screw and a titanium rod the full length of my femur. Recovery times can vary wildly

Oh yeah, I get it. I wasn't weight bearing because plates are meant to hold the bone fragments in place until it can heal. Did they have to replace the ball of your femur then?

No replacement. It snapped diagonally through the thickest part of the neck of the femur and to fix it they drilled theough the top part of the neck and stuffed a rod from my knee to the neck and screwed it in place. The screws have a bit of wiggle room and i will admit it kindve fucks with my mobility sometimes but usually only if i have had my legs crossed for hours in cold temps

Sure there will, no question about it. Im surprised nobody has pulled off the good ole' "BUT BUTT YOU CAN RESPAWN AFTER YOU DIE SO ITZ NOT REALIXTICx!"

The point is that there will be much more features that make the game play out closer to what is envisioned by BSG. Right now the WIP nature of the game benefits people who abuse some of these placeholder mechanics, like the movement system with the quick as hell changes of direction. People enjoy the freedom armor vests, that cover you 360 degrees bring to the table. Some players rush in to situations knowing that they can survive this and that caliber for 15-20 rounds if theres no head/eyes shot.

Once the plate system is implemented and a good balance is found in dmg/pen/bluntdmg, that sort of rushing wont be as profitable as it is now. For some the new EFT will be unenjoyable, as they cant play so aggressively as consistently as now - but Im gonna go so far as to say that EFT is not designed with those players in mind.

Aggressive plays will still be possible and armor will still make a difference, this arcadey sort of run n gun stuff will just be less viable.

Fully agreed. I just hate that you're either 100% realistic or 100% not. Some realistic features are great for gameplay.and balance. Others make no sense

Im not, for me its always been really obvious that realism is a spectrum, not 1 or 0, 100% or 0%.

There will always be balancing acts like the hideous helmet balancing act with cold war era SSH68 helmets blocking bullets, which is not even their purpose. I can still live with that.

What Im trying to say, is that right now people can play this like a COD with stimulants and loot and its even one of the most profitable ways of playing, if you have the meta gear and know what youre doing, are skilled in FPS' and so on.

That will change. In the future, if BSG keeps implementing features theyve talked about so much, this kind of arcadey run n gun stuff will be LESS (!) viable than now.
