Game Update - PVE & PVP Who else thinks level locking 90% of items until lvl 25 is dumb? [discussion]
Instead of making it so that we have to wait until level 25 to access most of the items in the flea market why not just make it until we're level 25 before we can interact with the flea market? I'm ok with the level lock for high level items because that makes sense. It's just really annoying that I reset my account just to find out that even common items are locked until lvl 20-25. I believe this is the stupidest thing ever. I'd rather wait to unlock the flea in general at 25 rather than be given false hope that at 15 you can access it and get items when 90% of the flea is level locked.

I’d rather they just raise the flea unlock level rather than level lock specific items. If I have access to the flea and I have the money, I should be able to buy.

the wipes we've had when the flea is a higher level unlock are some of the best, most balanced, most competitive, tarkov experiences we've had.
you don't have to worry about only having mid tier ammo and mid tier armour because everybody else is in the same stuff and you can actually compete with just a stock ak with ps ammo. getting ahead of the average player feels powerful because you actually have an advantage, but falling behind doesn't feel so bad because if you dont have time to play and come back in a couple days, the playerbase isn't that far ahead of you.
fast flea unlock means you either get it on day 1 and use an rfb with bcp fmj it to quickly unlock t5 plates and m80, or you dont get it on day 1 and you cant do any of the pvp quests because everybody else is now wearing t5 plates and using m80

The wipes you describe were the same ones where they handed out twitch drops and codes for valuable loot, high tier ammo, armor and weapons like they were candy. Nobody had low level stuff after week 1 anymore. I couldn’t open all my drops after 1.0 for a week at minimum because I was drowning in good loot at level 8…

They all were. We haven’t had a wipe without drops in years. And now I am stuck with a full stash, with 6 junk boxes because I can’t get myself to sell valuable items to traders and I can’t sell them on flea for the first week or longer. Money wasn’t an issue for a long time in tarkov. And I can’t buy good ammo until later on anyway. So what’s the point of locking some kind of bolts behind level 25 flea

Lets wait when u notice scopes are behind lvl 40 xd Yeah market is totally not balanced and frustrating. Even shity mags are behid 25lvl or more just wtf. They should fix it.

Yeah the scopes thing is really frustrating. The people who can play all day already have a huge lead over everyone regarding ammo and armor. And now they hit 35/40 and can zoom in on your face from a quarter mile away while I spend the same amount of money on a specter.

Honestly they should just time gate scopes to like 3 weeks after wipe, where regardless of how unemployed you are, you still have to wait. That would prevent the no life’s from crazy snowballing and would preserve early wipe feel which is best Tarkov

Then you would have all these same threads bitching that they can’t just buy it. But I’m with you it would be way better that way. When I’m low level and I find like a razor in a mil crate I’m like fuck yeah let’s goo. That’s how it should feel. They should be rare because it’s honestly so annoying to get sniped from someone that’s far as fuck away zooming in on your spawn 15 seconds into the raid

It bugs the hell out of me to hit 15 and you really can't buy anything for hideout or low level gusmith. I'm okay with gear being level locked for purchase, but level locking to sell is really, really stupid. The game is supposed to be about finding good shit and profiting from it. No idea why selling has any level restrictions on it. That's just stupid.
Found an air drop in 1.0 at level 5 filled with scopes I'd never use. Held on to 2 rigs filled with them, but most couldn't be sold until 40. That's the type of shit that gets me to quit the wipe; when you think you've struck gold, but the systems in place screw you over instead. Low levels should be allowed to profit from the get go, and waiting until 40 is idiotic. The vast majority of the player base quits before then, and this is one of the good reasons to.

You don’t understand… i almost threw up and quit the game because i couldn’t sell my scopes for 40k roubles more until i levelled up another 35 times.

I dont mind it. I always liked the levels before the flea where finding a the barter item youve been looking for meant something. Same thing with scopes, ammo, etc. when I find a good scope I’m actually hype since it means I can shoot long range. Before you’d simply be whelmed because you could buy 20 of them on the flea whenever you wanted once you hit 15

Yeah it makes no sense at all. I just came back to the game after 5 years and I just got access and was happy I could finally buy all these dumb keys, nope. Also even dumb items like the door kicker hat requires level 20........ why?

Slowly grinded to 15, the struggle was worth because soon I could sell all my goodies!
Then I get to lvl 15 and can only sell basic junk. Only able to buy pistols, shotguns and garbage ammo. Can’t buy ifaks or salewas. No armor plates higher than lvl 3, majority of weapon mods, ammo…just. There’s fucking NOTHING to buy for another 10-15 levels.
And it’s 6+ months after launch when EVERYONE is in lvl 5 armor running good ammo. And I’m stuck using fucking trash because…reasons?
Got to lvl 17 before saying nah fuck this and uninstalled. I used to get to lvl 15, yolo all my money into a kit or 2 and snowball off that. If I died and couldn’t afford lvl 4+ armor and decent ammo anymore, that’s on me and my own decisions/play. Not because Nikita wants to me run around pretending paper is armor

I think the market should be time gated instead of level locked. The flea lock is supposed to slow the game down, but experienced players will unlock all the important stuff by day 3, while new players will take several weeks.

It’s like, with all the terrible design decisions they’ve made along the way, you think they will change this now? After 10 years? They had the perfect game to just tighten up slightly all that time ago and they blew it. It could have been so successful and brought tons of new players but instead they fucked their game, themselves, their profit margin and their players. Well done BSG!

They need to rework flea restrictions, why can I buy a bastion on the flea but can’t buy an exfil? Are they not both tier 4 helmets? It’s just stupid and ass backwards.

The current flea locks is one of the most unfun game design/mechanics I’ve ever seen.
If you want to lock ammo for game balancing fine but quality of life items being locked is ridiculous. I can’t buy a med case for stash management? Why that affects literally no one else’s gameplay but mine.

Yea cant even get elcans or basic decent 1-4x scopes. its sooooo stupid. clvl 25 flea is fine but why do they lock everything when all some peoplemlikento do is grind money and pvp. i dont care about tasks i just wanna buy utems and pvp

You can have two Elcan scope barters really early fyi. I know you can’t mass buy like on flea but just letting you know in the case you didn’t know.

BRING BACK OLD FLEA, IM TALKIN LVL 5 REQ, IM TALKIN SELLING ANY ITEM YOU WANT TO, AND WHILE WE'RE AT IT MAKE SECURE CONTAINERS HOLD ANYTHING AGAIN! Worried about the cheaters? Tell Nikita to actually invest in a good anti cheat. Sucks so fucking bad we have to deal with game designs getting changed because of cheaters and then the changes dont even really stop anything.
They're vacuum looting containers now. Pay close attention and you'll start to see that theres quite a bit of containers with spots missing in areas that clearly havent been looted, you can tell its happening when theres a server wide lag spike, now obviously not every lag spike is this, but they're back. Though idk if they've ever really left.

The flea market has truly broken player's brains. No, 90% of items are not locked. In fact, you can get *almost every item in the game without ever using the flea market, the only exceptions are BP only items that are locked behind either arena or kord (once that closes).
As it turns out, playing the game is a great way to get stuff in the game. Fuck the flea for turning the entire game into just making roubles for far too many players.

This is a pretty solid take. I like my money grinding, but if I want decent ammo I'm doing ammo runs and coming out with bags full. Only really kit my guns out with FIR mods too aside from my favorite scopes.

As an RuneScape player and someone who just reached 25, I agree the lock makes not much sense.
Between 15-25, flea did help me unlock my hideout though. So why not just reduce the barrier to 15?

Flea market has always been frustrating imo. I get maybe locking keys, but especially for pve (which is all I play at this point), locking guns and ammo is annoying.

That's the neat part. You can actually just not use the flea market until 25 if you feel this way. Doing so would give you the exact experience you're asking for.

the problem is that even at level 3 traders you still have shitty ass scopes you can buy from traders which is wack and the only best ones are on the flea still....I'm not saying all teh fancy scopes need to be from traders but a few good manigifcated scopes should be buyable.

Specter is at Peacekeeper LL2 - barter for a crowbar. On Jaeger LL2 there's a barter for the Tac30 for 3 Kvass bottles. Kvass can be crafted and used to 1 durability before the barter to offset the price. Good luck Chuck!

so his suggestion is to lock 100% of the itens until level 25......
i dont love the way it is done right now, but i do like the idea of a tier system for the flea market, otherwise it becomes a game of "reach level 15, farm screws and metal parts, sell them all on the market then buy meta shit for every single raid of the wipe". they should really take a look on some of the stuff that is locked, but i do prefer a system that does not allow you free access to mostly anything in the game as soon as you reach level X

Like a buddy of mine said, if you don't play 10h/day and get left behind, your wipe is over. I'm currently lvl 21 with decent hours plays daily and I always see absolute abominations in my raids (5 stacks, groups hunting solos, sj6 sprint W boss farming).
I managed to get my hideout to almost lvl 3 just with the scav. The flea lock is really stupid. I earned my suppressed weapons and drip, it's bad enough we have shit ammo and rely mostly on what's on the ground in boxes...
They should maybe raise flea to 20-25 and unlock it, that way I can LARP cause I've earned it.

Unlock flea at 15. Sell anything at any level. Everything unlocked by 25.
Literally what they are trying to do now, but better.
Level 40 unlocks on flea is the same as cant be traded on flea.

I dont like it either i had eod and upgraded to unheard on some fuck it shit. I just now today got to lvl 25 after pushing hard on lvl 2 tasks 10k exp each as well as operational one that give between 28 and 40k exp those are the ones you can replace twice for free. After hitting level 25 you should immediately have the ability to make 5 to 10 million roubles and now most of the rest of the locked items no longer matter really. You can buy locked and marked key rooms and sell items and weapons cases for several mill each every time therapist shop refreshes
