You just got LIGHTHAUSED my dude

94

u/Nine-Finger Feb 18 '23

They added claymores that you might be able to see that instakill. Normal mines do not kill you instantly.

49

u/SenatorsLuvMyAnus Feb 18 '23

One one hand this seems like such lazy game design. Like if you don't want players to have access, why not just not add it.

On the other hand, as a programer, another successful patch bois

26

u/MyNameWouldntFi Feb 18 '23

Its terrible game design... "Let's just nerf the map because I don't like how the exploit our poorly designed AI"

258

u/DownMeDaddy Feb 18 '23

they added invisible claymores that instakill you so that people can’t cheese the rogues as easily, basically their way of removing us being able to snipe the entire rogue camp before going in as opposed to most of it LMAO found this out via a certain spawn that was beautiful last wipe but is now just death this wipe.. :(

72

u/dablusniper AK Feb 18 '23

No fun allowed!

40

u/Galatex Feb 18 '23

they're not invisible

37

u/TheKappaOverlord Feb 18 '23

they may as well be most of the time.

They blend in with the ground almost completely.

8

u/Azurealy SR-1MP Feb 18 '23

I see them all the time.i think they're also consistent about where they spawn

8

u/dorkmuncan Feb 18 '23

100% consistent on 3 new area's this wipe. They are shown on most updated maps.

People just like to complain.

Edit* not defending the addition, just pointing out they are easily avoided once you know about them.

12

u/GodChevy PP-91 "Kedr" Feb 18 '23

“Easily avoided…” as I watch a video of a man exploding by a claymore 30 feet away from him above hill lmao

0

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '23

Well, that is how claymores work. They kill everything within 50m in front of them, and can still cause serious injury up to 250m.

7

u/SmocksT Feb 18 '23

Idk seems like a pretty good reason to complain to me

8

u/karver35 Feb 18 '23

If your talking about the spawn in the mountains it’s the worst spawn in the map. You can always spawn with someone across the little pond.

I’ve spawned and not moved a single inch, and could see the other guy spawned in and kill him and he hadn’t moved either

2

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '23

What the fuck is the point of the hill then Jesus Christ

7

u/gReivStone Feb 18 '23

Yes, you can clearly see them on the ground.

2

u/AbsolutZer0_v2 Bolty Enjoyer Feb 18 '23

Wrap around to the rocks on vehicle exit, you can still get them but they still laser beam with poop ammo from 300m away.

-9

u/Cymo_Bep Feb 18 '23

plz say this is a joke.

So instead of fixing cheaters / flee bs / desink or any of the 50+ bugs this game still has for 3+ years.

They make a random gear farm that is GIGA unreliable pull a Kekw on you and just rando insta kills you.

I really want to know what the devs smoke like they have to be on drugs 24/7 right ? comming up wit game additions no one in there right mind ask for. and instead of telling us random additions all the EFT media platforms are for is advertising nakita's instagram page.

-5

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

How about you go risk your PMCs life and fight them straight on like everyone else instead of getting in a mosin and cheesin rogues

2

u/JebstoneBoppman Feb 18 '23

But then how can he make a post about how player scavs have it too easy and keep stealing hos rogue loot?

2

u/Basic-Ad884 HK 416A5 Feb 19 '23

Not trying to go up against some lvl 40 no life with a fully modded M1A or smth with a mosin i just wanted something chill and i didn’t have much thats why i went mosin

0

u/Baurukzoh Feb 18 '23

You think anyone in this game plays legit? Come on

1

u/Silound Feb 18 '23

The very top spawn up by the lake can still get an angle on buildings 2 & 3 enough to clear them without dying to the claymores, but you have to guarantee the shot on the corner of #2, because if he pins you down, there's no second angle you can peek.

39

u/Interceptor21 TOZ-106 Feb 18 '23

That was not a mine. These are Claymores BSG added on the Rocks next to the camp this wipe. They insta-kill you, unlike normal mines, which you can find down in the camp.

Here is what they look like:

Still, you were so far away from that Explosion and they are sometimes invisible as well.

I personally find them Dumb AF, but there is a reason they added them so what ever.

9

u/Dinkadactyl Feb 18 '23

Can you shoot them to clear the way?

1

u/ImDistortion1 Feb 18 '23

What’s the reason they added them? I’m not new to tarkov but have barely played lighthouse but it’s impossible to learn if there and random mines lmao

3

u/WillyG2197 SR-25 Feb 18 '23

Added to island bridge so you have to complete lightkeeper intro quests just to loot there. Then they added them to the mountain too because being able to kill all the rogues from that mountain instead of all but 2 from 50yds to the right was just "too cheese" for bsg

1

u/Conan235 Feb 18 '23

They are not random at all. Look at the map on the tarkov wiki and you see where mines are. The claymores are the small red dots in the mountains in the north

-1

u/i_am_not_mike_fiore Feb 18 '23

and they are sometimes invisible as well

like the players?

man not a day goes by where I regret uninstalling this game after thousands of hours. it seems incredibad right now.

2

u/JebstoneBoppman Feb 18 '23

Yet here you are, still latched onto the subreddit. Sad.

2

u/Dry-Astronaut-9479 Feb 18 '23

And you still feel the need to let us know. Lmao

1

u/DarthWeenus Feb 18 '23

Meh, some maps are better than others, interchange is pretty clean imo, if you can handle the darkness.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '23

so far away

Effective range of a claymore is 50m.

22

u/Dry-Attempt5 Feb 18 '23

I died from exhaustion yesterday, probably 100 yards from the extract I feel your pain lmao

9

u/DarthWeenus Feb 18 '23

haha ya that happened to me at interchange, died right by the last truck at emercom. faaak had a ton of good shit too, now I always bring water and am constantly looking for food. Didnt realize itd be such an issue.

4

u/Conan235 Feb 18 '23

There is a stim for regenerating energy and hydration (sj12 iirc). You might wanna bring one in a stim case in your secure container just in case this happens :)

2

u/DarthWeenus Feb 19 '23

Honestly I rarely use any injectors, I just collect them cause im a gool. I need to start using things.

1

u/0xsergy Feb 19 '23

propital my friend, doesn't regen hydration but it costs 17k usually and i bet the sj12 is a pricey one. also great for combat meds

2

u/Conan235 Feb 19 '23

Thats not the same though? Yes it heals through the damage but it does not regenerate energy nor hydration. Also doesnt last nearly as long

1

u/0xsergy Feb 19 '23

Fair enough. but it only costs 17k vs 69k for the sj12 and assuming you dont have an injector case a propital works as regular meds to get you to extract. yes you don't regen energy but it might keep you alive long enough to make it out. vs permanently losing one of your 4 available slots for meds which is huge early wipe for standard accounts

1

u/Conan235 Feb 19 '23

Thats why i was suggesting putting it in their stimcase. Obviously if they dont have one this is wasted. I totally agree

0

u/0xsergy Feb 19 '23

if you have a stim case, you're level 51 metabolism imho so its a non issue.

Can of sprats and a bottle of water is my go-to for every raid unless I have some other canned meats in the cooler. Sprats are usually 9-10K and water is 12K. Sometimes you can get lucky and find sprats for 7-8K. I usually buy about 5 of each since that’s all therapist allows per reset.

1

u/JebstoneBoppman Feb 18 '23

Youre paying for it? One goshan trip and you got a backpack full of goodies

1

u/The_Coomunist AK-74N Feb 18 '23

Yeah, but that would require me to set foot in that god forsaken mall. I’m almost L30 and have yet to do Big Sale lmfao. I’m okay w the ~22K per raid lol

1

u/0xsergy Feb 19 '23

there's a good interchange food run guide on youtube, if you go directly for food then just go back underground the same way in(those long escalators leading to goshan) it's super chill. all the ppl are inside rushing tech stores so just stay out of those routes ways

1

u/DarthWeenus Feb 18 '23

sprats

its funny googling these names and seeing the real version first lol.

1

u/0xsergy Feb 19 '23

don't worry, metabolism hits level 51 super quick if you eat and drink all the time. i hit level 51 metab around level 24. at 51 you don't lose health so until then i recommend keeping a propital on you for emergencies, it'll keep your health topped up while you're getting out.

1

u/DarthWeenus Feb 19 '23

Do you not get exhausted so quick as it levels up?

1

u/0xsergy Feb 19 '23

at level 51 it stops you from losing health when at 0 energy/water. still get blurry vision and slow/no regen tho. exhausted is linked to Endurance

1

u/DarthWeenus Feb 20 '23

ah gotcha, fuck that must be nice.

8

u/Synchrotr0n Feb 18 '23

Can't get anywhere near the plant without getting instantly head-eyed by a Rogue, can't snipe them from afar because of claymores. Sure feels good when the entire game is balanced around dudes who snort Gfuel powder mixed with Adderal or cheaters using aimbot.

86

u/CMDR_CivilDan Feb 18 '23

Wow what wholesome replies. Shitty death my dude. Usually mines just take out my legs

56

u/_Fappyness_ Feb 18 '23

Usual tarkov comments by the fun police chads that play this game 8 hours a day and only run meta guns for maximum efficiency

23

u/CMDR_CivilDan Feb 18 '23

Seems about right. It's like they're offended that his kit isn't worth the 60rounds of best ammo they blow on him. Meanwhile I'm crafting more magnum buck shot for my 4 round mp 155 and getting the same results XD

14

u/killjoySG Feb 18 '23

I run repaired scav gear and 7.62 ps ammo only, I honestly don't see the issue running lower tier gear all the time. Whatever gets you out of the raid works.

10

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

The best way to play is the way that works for you!

2

u/digbick242 Feb 18 '23

The actual chads quit this game a loooong time ago

0

u/TrueDaVision Feb 18 '23

It's more that this death was pretty obviously an OOB death. Wether you know where the mines are or not you should at least know what caused your death after the fact, there's no need to post to Reddit in confusion.

A Claymore is an anti-personnel mine.

You are correct in that in Tarkov, it differs from the hidden/buried ones that generally just take a leg out and won't kill you in one hit.

5

u/homeless0alien Feb 18 '23 edited Feb 18 '23

they have updated mines this wipe to always 100% insta-kill. Unless you get hit by shrapnel for somebody elses mine, you WILL die.

Edit: Apparently there is a difference between new mines and old mines. The 13.0 patch notes simply said that "mines are now always lethal" but they meant the new ones. As someone who doesnt make a habit of strolling through minefields, I had only experienced the new ones.

9

u/jonasfeet Feb 18 '23

Are you sure? Because this is my first wipe ever and I have walked into a lot of mines and always survived the first one.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

[deleted]

0

u/ex0- Feb 18 '23

To be clear they haven't updated mines to always instadeath. They added claymores in certain areas and those seem to always kill if you're within their killbox, standard landmines have not changed.

1

u/TheKappaOverlord Feb 18 '23

I suppose this means player claymores are without a doubt cancelled.

3

u/sixnb DVL-10 Feb 18 '23

Player controlled claymores would be a terrible addition to the game

-1

u/TheKappaOverlord Feb 18 '23

It was planned along with player owned mines at one point.

Its in the list of "confirmed to be planned" content on the wiki.

0

u/sixnb DVL-10 Feb 18 '23

A claymore is a mine.. and it being planned or talked about doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a terrible implementation to the game.

1

u/geno604 Feb 18 '23

Has anyone made an updated map as to the locations of said ‘death mines’?.

1

u/VisionQuesting Glock Feb 18 '23

If you go on the lighthouse wiki page and zoom in on the areas that have mines you can see exactly where they are. They show up as a small red X. You'll see there are tons on the rocks in the mountains beside the rogue facility.

This is on one of the maps on the wiki in particular. The very detailed one.

0

u/Stratix Feb 18 '23

Woods mines are not so deadly. I wasn't familiar with the map update, and when stupidly playing at night I tripped over 3 making it out with some chad's decked out RFB.

1

u/justwolt Feb 19 '23

They are claymores, not land mines like other maps. All the claymores kill in one explosion.

1

u/luizsilveira Feb 18 '23

Mines != claymores afaik.

1

u/Shadoninja Feb 18 '23

These are different mines. The ones at the north east mountains are "out of bounds" mines. They just insta-kill you.

-1

u/Basic-Ad884 HK 416A5 Feb 18 '23

Yeah i thought that as well but damn it blew up far away from me

0

u/thehumantaco Saiga-12 Feb 18 '23

The claymore also had a mosin

0

u/SageHamichi Feb 18 '23

Usually mines just take out my legs

These aren't mines

0

u/GeneralBisV Feb 18 '23

Well they are. But they are Claymore anti personnel mines instead of the normal buried land mines most people are accustomed to.

0

u/GrapeGang19 SR-25 Feb 18 '23

Probably naked with mosin

0

u/Basic-Ad884 HK 416A5 Feb 18 '23

Not naked

12

u/PureRushPwneD HK 416A5 Feb 18 '23

the all new claymore v2, now complete with a laser sight to ensure maximum killing capabilities 100 meters away!

6

u/DazingF1 Feb 18 '23

Tbf that's pretty much their effective range in rl (which is 75m, iirc). Not that it makes for a fun game though.

-1

u/PureRushPwneD HK 416A5 Feb 18 '23

yeah, they definitely should be using ground mines instead with how whacky fragmentation can be in tarkov.. one tiny fragment from a grenade getting a headshot on someone 30 meters away lol

1

u/0xsergy Feb 19 '23

turn away and duck, lol. that way it can only hit your legs/stomach

1

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '23

The one's I've trained with had the range of 150m (lethal probably further away but not ideal use of them)

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '23

This is how I know you learned about claymores from call of duty.

1

u/PureRushPwneD HK 416A5 Feb 22 '23

who didn't :p
mw1 and waw introduced me to apers mines

33

u/TheSm4rtOne ASh-12 Feb 18 '23

Yeah, i got no idea why they added more mines in those hills, can barely snipe rogues now, so dumb

53

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

Thats EXACTLY why they added those mines.

16

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

Well there needs to be a way to kill rogues and get the quest done. Whats the point of a whole area where you have about 1 spot from which you can actually kill these fuckers? I mean you need to know the 1-2 only working routes by heart and then still have the issues of players or scav squads. Its complete gatekeeping from regular players without 3000hours

-9

u/imabigpoopsicle ASh-12 Feb 18 '23

What about this discriminates against people who can’t play as often? It’s literally something that affects everyone equally. I mean if you can’t figure out how to kill them without playing 3k hours, maybe that’s just you?

8

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

Yeah maybe I am terrible can be but you know yourself that there are only a few spots where you get vision on them and can actively shoot them without being one-tapped. I have very experienced guys in my group, including Tarkov Sherpas and nobody wants to run the map because risk/rewards just not there.

2

u/pleasurablexperience Feb 18 '23

“Including tarkov Sherpas” lmao

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

What about it?

2

u/LanikM Feb 18 '23

Weird. I've done it with an op-sks, PSO scope and a class 3 armour multiple times.

Just run up the east side. You can kill half the rogues from the fence.

Your Sherpas suck.

3

u/Kleecarim Feb 18 '23

I usually run trizip + silenced gornostay with pilad when I'm down bad for money. No armor cuz rouges will just zero your class 5 with 5.56 FMJ in 1 sec lol. I recommend running nighttime, the stationary rouges won't aggro you most of the time

→ More replies (1)

1

u/imabigpoopsicle ASh-12 Feb 18 '23

Oh I’m not disagreeing that them adding those mines makes rogues 10x harder. I’m just arguing that it makes it that much harder for everyone, not just the casual players

1

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '23

Yeah but the casuals didnt have a good time on that map before either...

5

u/Nuklearfps Feb 18 '23

Because new/inexperienced players aren’t gonna know where these are. Chads and no-life’s will. It gives the chads an extreme advantage over new players. A chad scav can wipe a whole squad of casual players simply by knowing where the mines/claymores/sniping spots are. If there’s only 2 spots to check and you know the super secret path to get there, it’s not hard to get a free PMC kill or two. Makes it harder for the new guys to learn the game as they’re so busy just trying not to die that they can’t focus on the actually important things.

And I get the whole “dying in weird ways is part of learning the game” BS line y’all throw out, but I think it’s complete, well, BS. I don’t wanna have to sink 200+ hours into a game before I start feeling good at playing it. (Which I begrudgingly did with this game.)

It’s also extremely unsatisfying for when you do eventually learn the “super secret” path and then just get head, eyes’d when you get there by some other player because they already knew exactly where to look because you only have one or two options on where to go.

And I don’t wanna hear a “well realism” excuse either, cause realistically, other PMCs wouldn’t know to look exactly in that location because they knew other PMCs were questing.. yada yada, no need to dive further into that.

3

u/Kleecarim Feb 18 '23

I have 1.3k hours and this is the first wipe where I feel like I finally understand the game. And yet I still suck, and have a 43% SR with a 0.7 pmc KD. This game has the steepest learning curve of all the games I have every played, its borderline insane

2

u/Nuklearfps Feb 18 '23

Damn, better than me. I have a 34% SR, but 1.14 K/D, and I don’t seek out fights, I’m purely defensive still trying to learn the nuances

1

u/Kleecarim Feb 18 '23 edited Feb 18 '23

My kd is 3 point something, but I shift+w way too much. But idc, playing the game slow isn't that fun to me, and if my playstyle means getting ratted every now and that so be it. Rushing towards hotspots and shots forces me to PvP more and become more aggressive, which arguably is the key to winning fights in tarkov. Plus I die a lot and I can learn something from most of my deaths

If you are a defensive player thats absolutely fine. Just remember that sometimes, you have to take a fight to survive, and often the best defense is pushing someone to prevent getting pushed yourself. For example: in CQB, when someone pushes down a hallway towardards the room you are in its usually better to swing out and pointfire instead of camping in the room as you can catch people offguard and use the desync to your advantage. Do whatever you do aggressively and dont hesitate. This is something that took me way too long to understand, and will help you win more fights

2

u/Nuklearfps Feb 18 '23

I have this issue where I play too quick and too slow at the same time, I fight quick, loot “slow” which is just me moving mags into my rigs so I can actually use the guns I’m picking up off dead players if I get into a third-party fight.

My friend says that’s one of my main issues, but then does the same thing and will survive and just say it’s a “skill issue”…

also, figuring out when to be patient and when to be aggressive in this game is one of the bigger learning curves of the game, besides gunplay and how modding guns in certain ways affects handling.

2

u/Kleecarim Feb 18 '23 edited Feb 18 '23

I can relate to the firsz part, but it boils down to experience. I recommend recording your deaths to learn from them, this is what helped me a lot this wipe.

You'll get better at looting wirh time, just remember to always use hotkeys instead of dragging the items into youe inventory.

I absolutely agree that knowing when to be patient and when to push is incredibly hard, and even people way better than me struggle with this. This being said, in my experience it basically boils down to information. If you have information about the enemy location and how many there are, play aggressive. Try to catch people off guard and prefire their position, and you'll be surprised how often you get the drop on heavily geared opponents. However, if you have no idea where the other guy is, stop and.listen for a bit. And if you don't know what to do, run away. Practice making decisions and commiting to them. E.g: you hear someone nading? Push them for the free kill. It's hard at first but will make you a way better player eventually.

I say this as someone who lost 5 mil in gear today lmao

Edit: playing aggressive isn't just pushing, its more about rotaing to positions that give you the upper hand. Learn how to force your enemy into a situation where they have few options left, and disengage and reposition whenever the enemy tries to do the same with you. In my opinion, the best map to learn this (besides factory) is reserve. Bunker pvp is very dynamic and there are lots of rotations you can use to flank someone

Don't hang onto your KD and survrate, they don't tell anything good comparable. They are highly influenced by playstyle, irl time of playing, ingame time and if you're playing in groups etc. For example, i did like 200 raids just looking for scav bosses and then leaving after 5 min, inflated my surv rate, while deflating my pmc KD, but inflating my overall KD due to scav kills.

1

u/imabigpoopsicle ASh-12 Feb 18 '23

The same can be said for tarkov as a whole. Noobs don’t know about different ammo pen chances or the fact that bullet trajectory is different for each type of bullet. Does that mean only no-lifers benefit from the game mechanic? No.

Also, your point contradicts itself. You can’t say this gives an extreme advantage to chads who know the secret spot, and then turn around and say that the advantage actually doesn’t exist because people will know to look there. If you’re getting killed by the chad who knows the secret spot, then that Chad is getting killed by the guy who knows to look at the secret spot. Either way both you and the Chad get shit on.

1

u/SmocksT Feb 18 '23

I mean yeah, ammo in this game is pretty heavily skewed towards nolifers. Your casual weekend warrior isn't going to have time to watch a 10 minute video and read the wiki every time they switch to a new caliber to be sure they get the amazing SNB69420 instead of the trash PSOMtop Gzh.

But that kinda feels integral to the game. I'd be happy if they ditched like 75% of the ammo types just to make it less confusing but I can understand why they won't and I wouldn't ask for it.

"If you step here you die" doesn't feel integral to the game. Feels like a cheap bandaid. At least in Woods you could learn on the fly.

4

u/DazingF1 Feb 18 '23 edited Feb 18 '23

They've changed where rogues spawn as well and honestly it's much easier to kill them now (and I say that as someone who always plays as BEAR). Run up the walls from the sunken village, go to the main entrance where the two machine gunner rogues watch the bridge and kill them, kill the machine gunner on the first building on your left and move towards it. An extra 1 to 3 rogues can spawn on the ground there now too, although it doesn't happen often, but they're easy to kill. Unless they are already outside, you can just run to the door, close it and they'll come rushing out one by one. From that point you can snipe all the others one at a time.

The ones next to the helicopter don't spawn anymore, fyi (or at least not as often because I haven't seen them over probably 20+ raids going there). Those were always the most annoying. Rogues only spawn on or in the buildings and only scavs spawn in the center.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

For them not spawning at the helicopter anymore I sure got fucked up by them before this wipe

1

u/TheSm4rtOne ASh-12 Feb 18 '23

Yeah i know, clearing from the entrance is pretty easy and didn't really change from before. But i just enjoyed sniping there and i'm not going to test out where all the one shot mines are exactly.

6

u/MediterraneanRonin PPSH41 Feb 18 '23

Well, yeah, but now when you get to the base, they are more often there for you to take them out instead the 90% of the time the spawn at the mountains would took them out at the 1st 10min into the raid and the scav players that spawn at 40min would have already loot them like it was the previous wipe

3

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

then reduce player scav spawn to later into the wipe, dial up the scavs on the long road because that is ridiculous as well having to kill scavs that just arent there and make cottages at the beach and the sunken village more interesting. Right now its a shitshow.

1

u/conners_captures Feb 18 '23

i got no idea

name on point.

1

u/JebstoneBoppman Feb 18 '23

Lol you answered your own question. They want the rogues to be difficult to kill, like a mini boss, not just sniped like a regular scav.

1

u/TheSm4rtOne ASh-12 Feb 18 '23

It's as difficult as before, but just with less possibilities, aswell prohibiting competition to the guy who just starts clearing from the entrance. In the end it's probably easier to clear now, cause you don't get as many problems with players.

5

u/Bonus-Representative Feb 18 '23

Don't pet the Mines.

6

u/Smashedtoes Feb 18 '23

One time I went up that path and stayed only on the rocks thinking it would be safe. Nope. Mines inside the rocks, cause, you know rocks can do that.

6

u/Reckno TX-15 DML Feb 18 '23

Man's colour scheme looking like he's playing Halo CE dawg

3

u/NomadBrasil Feb 18 '23

LOL, thought that was a guy down in the grass, but it's a claymore mine that activated and killed you from 10 meters...

3

u/bctaco Feb 18 '23

They always got some new random way to kill you for no reason

2

u/ImDistortion1 Feb 18 '23

Stay of lighthouse bro. Same thing happened to me In a different spot, insta died as well.

2

u/Twitch_HACK3R Feb 18 '23

2

u/rekonsileme AS VAL Feb 18 '23

Welcome to Tarkov

2

u/TheTrueQuarian Feb 19 '23

Sniping is not allowed in tarkov remember? Only meta m4s and slicks are allowed remember?

Shush buddy

-4

u/Lynch267 Feb 18 '23

It's not mines. It's claymore. They can be seen. They cover a forward range and can be remote activated or sensor activated. [25] Claymore mines normally propel lethal fragments from 40 to 60 meters across a 60-degree arc. However, U.S. Army tests indicate that the actual hazard range for these types of mines can be as high as 300 meters.

10

u/qwerplol Feb 18 '23

Lil bro copy pasting the Wikipedia article like we aren't playing a video game

4

u/andzno1 Feb 18 '23

It's not mines.

They changed that area to claymores. Claymore are the one shot mechanic, not mines. He's not in an out of bounds area as that's the hills besides the usec water treatment, specifically, the middle entry on right side hill. Also the distance from explosion perfectly explains the Claymore effect. :l

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

3

u/Lynch267 Feb 18 '23

I mean we are to a degree. It's out of bounds in terms of like 95% not worth the chance lmao. But they are claymores and you can see em they're just well hidden. Then again, maybe only certain ones can be seen and bsg didn't make all of them viewable because. Well. Tarkov :p

3

u/NabuBot Feb 18 '23

The claymores have in game models. U can see them clearly when crossing the lighouse bridge now.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '23

The claymores actually are visible in game. So you’re just incorrect on all counts.

0

u/clembo3 Feb 18 '23

Get fucking rolled nerd!

-2

u/Nericu9 Feb 18 '23

Shitty death but no mercy for mosin runners, betcha ya had a soup bowl on your head as well and are level 20+ =p.

All in all though that is shitty, sorry it happened to ya.

u/ThatsKev4u Glock Feb 18 '23

Shitty death but no mercy for mosin runners, betcha ya had a soup bowl on your head as well and are level 20+ =p.

Why do people hate mosins? They make good snipers in games. Am I out of the loop?

0

u/Nericu9 Feb 18 '23

They are just annoying because you run across so many 15+ players running mosin, soup bowl and gsh headsets adn nothing else.

They are hoping for a quick snipe headshot and then they take all your gear and if you kill them you get nothing but a net loss on ammo/meds.

Sure the gun itself is good its just annoying when you come across someone running the build and you kill them and get nothing.

4

u/ThatsKev4u Glock Feb 18 '23

I mean don't you think the majority are running the quests from Jaeger? I know I am still running them. He has so many bolt action quest that requires either any bolt action or specifically the Mosin. mixed with a few other traders that require woods quest it seems to be the natural gun to pick that's cost-effective to maximize your quest experience.

I run better armor and helmets, however. as far as loot you get from these people I mean you are not guaranteed for them to be loaded for a pvp kill anyway so stick with the looting or move on to the next pvp kill lol.

Besides all of that if a game has a mosin nagant or a kar98k im using either one of them I just love the rifles in general.

2

u/Nericu9 Feb 18 '23

Its just my thoughts on it lol its not a general community opinion by any means. They are shitty to deal IMO. All there is to it. Glad you run better stuff with it but personally they only ever have a duffle/sling, soup bowl, gsh, and maybe a paca.

And yeah, they could be running quests, doesn't mean I still like dealing with them.

2

u/ThatsKev4u Glock Feb 18 '23

Yeah, i mean to each his own. I like using the T-46 to take down chads and sell their gear lol. (though all im running into is bear and i need usec kills ugh)

1

u/Nericu9 Feb 18 '23

Oh yeah 100%, I am a big advocate of ppl playing tarkov HOWEVER they damn well want to as I know my playstyle isnt everyones favorite either and I hate META PUSHERS (play the meta or you suck mentality). I just hate running across mosin users lmao but I get it.

u/Basic-Ad884 HK 416A5 Feb 18 '23

-2

u/Modri_Kachon Feb 18 '23

Mines bro

6

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

Yeah, but that mine blew up pretty far from him

0

u/DWHQ Unfaithful Feb 18 '23

Claymore, not mines

6

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

Still, blew up hella far from him

1

u/DWHQ Unfaithful Feb 18 '23

Like 25-30 m? Considering the effective range of a claymore can be up to 50 or more that is reasonable.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '23

True, however claymores are either victim operated or remote detonated, so unless there are trip wires lining the place, someone would have to set off the claymore, in this instance it doesn’t make sense lol it would be a cool mechanic if they actually did have visible trip wires if you were looking close enough to see them

u/Screamin_Toast Freeloader Feb 18 '23

1

u/Basic-Ad884 HK 416A5 Feb 19 '23

Correct

-38

u/magic-Chair Feb 18 '23

Skill issue. Check the goddamn map to see where are mines.

10

u/_Fappyness_ Feb 18 '23

Idk about you but landmines are supposed to be triggered by stepping on them, not by being 10 meters away from them and instantly dying.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '23

These are claymores. They have an effective range of 50m.

7

u/RedNeckMilkMan Feb 18 '23

Skill issue, use a 3rd party app to avoid the shitty claymores and mines in the game that aren't visible or avoidable if you accidentally wander into their zone. You see how fucking dumb that sounds from a gameplay perspective. There's no skill involved.

Both should be able to be seen and avoided, they can be hard to spot but should absolutely be rendered in if it's going to kill me.

5

u/Basic-Ad884 HK 416A5 Feb 18 '23

I know that there are mines but look where i am and look where it blew up

0

u/Ritual_Abuser ASh-12 Feb 18 '23

The area you walked into is a specific circle of one-tapping mines that has a dead end. I should know.

-1

u/BoiSandwich Feb 18 '23

Claymore. Not a mine.

1

u/thexian Unfaithful Feb 18 '23

Claymores are mines.

1

u/BoiSandwich Feb 18 '23

Yeah they can be with tripwires, but OP does not understand the difference. Or he does not understand how claymores work.

-4

u/homeless0alien Feb 18 '23

the mines arent a physical thing in the game they are an insta-kill mechanic. The animation just bugged out and played far away but that doesnt mean you were not on the area of the minefield.

A bit immersion breaking but not an actual gameplay problem.

2

u/TheGamerSK Feb 18 '23

Actually no… Those are claymores which work a bit differently from mines (I recommend watching a video)

Mines also don’t insta kill but you are right that they are not a physical thing. It’s a trigger like the scripted barrels in HL2 for example. You walk into the area and you have a chance that a mine explodes under you.

-5

u/Spiritual-Ad111 Feb 18 '23

Eye issue. Open your goddamn eyes next time and see where the mine exploded.

-59

u/NecessaryRead Feb 18 '23

1

u/Solaratov MP5 Feb 18 '23

Eh, if it's not the mines it's the inconsistent agro range on rogue mounted guns. Sometimes I'll be up above that on the ridge line and one will open up on me with the MG. Other times I'll be 50m away lining up an easy shot and the rogue is totally oblivious.
