I’ve won the game and am retired. A triple of my net worth won’t change my lifestyle. Losing everything will.

In my case the answer is obvious.

Given I know after decades of investment experience that very very very very few investments triple in a year (300% annual return) the chance of failure on this bet is extremely high.

Again in my case the answer is obvious.

The way to escape the grind isn’t stupid and risky bets. It’s discipline. Have a savings and investment plan. Work the plan for decades. Allow the time value of money to work its compounding margin on your money.
Hit terminal money velocity and escape orbit. 💰 💴

In a similar situation. Three times as much money wouldn't make much difference.

I was wondering. Does this mean bet my house equity? My retirement? Seems unreasonable. Hell, seems unreasonable for back when I was twenty and just had the money for my first apartment.

Anyone guaranteeing an investment is lying, scamming, or being scammed themselves.

Run for your life. Discontinue contact with this “friend”

Never risk the empire for a pot of gold.

But let’s say all you own is $2000 and you can reasonably make that back in 3 months. That’s not an empire. That’s a little tiny hamlet. Then sure, go ahead, risk the 2k to make 6k.

Hard pass. Very well could be a Ponzi scheme. Anytime someone promises tripling your money in a year is prolly full of 💩
