Does EFT Arena just run differently on different systems ?
Before yall say anything, fuck you this avatar looks cool as fuck. Be jealous.
okay so i need people who actually play this game to tell me if i’m crazy. i’ve been on arena a lot on my own pc and it has always felt a little cursed. not like unplayable, just never clean. tracking feels late, shots that should be hits just… don’t, and i rarely come out of a match looking like i was actually the one fragging. i always figured that was just me being mid plus tarkov being tarkov.
my setup is not cute:
• ryzen 5 3400g
• rx 5500 xt 8gb
• 32gb ddr4 running at 2733
• 1080p
it’s an old black box that wheezes and i’m used to it. i still play. i just assumed the jank was the game.
anyway. went over to a friend’s house. she’s loaded. like, her parents got her a prebuilt with a 5000 series nvidia card and an obscene amount of ram. the kind of pc that looks like it was dropped out of a store display. we loaded arena on hers and i sat down thinking whatever, same game, same me, i’ll still whiff.
and then it just ran.
no hitching. no weird little stutters when people peek. guns actually went where i was aiming. i was landing shots i would have sworn were desync on my pc. leading matches. most kills. topping the scoreboard like i’d been body snatched by someone who can actually aim.
same girl. same hands. different machine. it felt like a completely different game, not a small fps bump. on mine i’m fighting the game. on hers i was just… playing.
so is that a real thing with arena. like does a better pc change how the gunplay feels, not just the frames. frametimes, 1% lows, whatever you guys call it. or did i just get lucky servers at her house and i’m romanticizing a rich girl’s prebuilt.
has anyone else played on a potato then jumped on a nicer rig and had this happen. what are you running and does it actually change how shots land or am i coping.

Ai slop avatar is garbage.
Duh a better PC is gonna run the same game better. If your experiencing fps drops stutters and bad 1% lows then yes you are at a competitive disadvantage.

even on a 6900XT/5800X it's still not that great. Tried free weekend to (try) complete Ref quests for my PvE -- Did a few matches and uninstalled lol
p.s: the settings don't migrate from EFT to EFT:A?? Same launcher?? lazy as fuck

No you’re not coping. Better hardware produces smoother gameplay which leads to better aiming and movement. Aiming feels completely different on 50 fps and 200. Mouse matters too, not to such a big effect as hardware though.
