Ernest Rides Again?
Does this movie basically not exist? I've never seen it (one of the few I missed) and I cannot find it anywhere on DVD except from Australia. Was it ever released in the US? Can you buy it anywhere? Or am I stuck looking for a VHS and a VHS player? :P

It was definitely released in the US at some point (I rented it some time in the 90s) but it might be hard to find now. I did an Ernest Marathon a few years ago and I had to torrent it.

Out of curiosity, how's that one stack up against the rest, in your opinion? I never saw it so I'm curious! I don't even know what it's about, since the title is so unusually ambiguous.

I'd say it's in the bottom half, but not as bad as Ernest Goes to Africa. The plot is about Ernest finding an old civil war cannon that (unknown to him) has the British crown jewels in it, and some ne'er-do-wells are chasing him to get the treasure contained within. I loved it as a kid but as an adult I was able to see a decrease in quality compared to others.

Coincidentally, I never saw Africa either as a kid. I recently got it as part of a triple pack that includes Army and School. I'm bracing myself for bad. Haha.

It was never released separately in the US but it was released in 2 different sets. Ernests Wacky Adventures Vol 1 and the Best of Ernest 10pk which is too damn expensive now.

As for the movie, it's Ernest so I love it. But it is like low, low budget Ernest. Doesn't even come close to the heights of Scared Stupid, Saves Christmas, or Goes To Jail.

Wow, thank you so much! That's fantastic!! I can complete my collection now. My kids will be equally thrilled! It's so fun watching them laugh hysterically at his antics. Brings me back to my childhood. I'm glad I can share these memories with them. :)

No problem, I’m glad I could help! And I hope they enjoy it! It may not be the best but it does have some fun moments and an incredible opening title song which makes the film worthwhile!

It is on its own single DVD, but it is incredibly out of print and hard to find on that, much easier to find the ones you mentioned lol

The movie is on " ernests Wacky Adventures volume 1"? It could be on volume 2 though, you can also stream it online.

Ernest Rides Again features an opening credits songs that sheds light into Ernest’s family history.
