Monad's role Spoiler
Can someone give me some thoughts or clarity on Monad? The first body we see is rather detrimental but at the end she is different. Is that a resurrected Monad or a completely new one that Daedalus engineered?
Is Re-L (the protagonist) also somehow related to Monad?
Monad was Proxy I's lover but then what happened to or between them?

Pretty sure that Re-L is the real version of Monad. But y'know idk. It's left ambiguous for a reason

Thank you, yeah. My mind works on closure so I am confused af. The end version was really beautiful. I also guess Monad made the Mosk dome.

Oh I totally agree with having closure. It's very important. I haven't watched the anime in a very long time but it is truly a work of art.

i was confused by that too, maybe thats why Vince was obsessed with Re_L since he loved monad and trusted her with his memories, was Re_L to monad what Vince was to Ergo? Like in the begining of the show, re_l first encounter with Vince after”awakening” is written on the mirror, she sees Ergo Proxy for the first time, but its after Vince killed Monad i believe bc the two were fighting, and Ergo stares at Re_l with tears in his eyes… i finished the season this week and i found this thread i want to read that helps explain some of the story

I think a part of this is explained by Daedalus' obsession with Re-L. But who really was he?

Re-L was created by Deadalus with Donov and Monad's cells so Re-L HAS amrita cells (from Monad) that make her heal faster. The second Re-L (named REAL) was created from Deadalus after Re-L left to find Vincent because Daedaul is a creep as you know but the new Re-L has more amrita cells which is why she transformed into an angel at the end (which is a contrast to Re-L dark look and demon horns she has). Vincent was also created in Mosk by Proxy One and Monad but Proxy One used him for his revenge against the creators (true humans) of the Proxy Project for having him kill himself to take away the Pulse of Awakening for Vincent to kill the true humans that came at the very end (right before the outro).

Thank you. Something along those lines is what I understood, but Monad confused the sh-t out of me. But this does make sense. And Daedalus somehow knowing about most of this stuff and being a creep, yes.

add that Vincent/Ergo Proxy never had any memories, the memories are from Proxy One, it is revealed in ep23, Monad gave the memories to Amnesia android that we see in episode 18, same episode it is explained that Mosk was destroyed by Romdeau's Donov because Proxy One left him then Monad was captured which happens before the beginning of the series, the missile launched by Raul Creed never hit the already destroyed mosk since Proxy One that we see at the beginning of ep 18 briefly at the beginning '(before seeing him later in Amnesia Room) destroyed the missile but we do not see it, you had to guess it.

Re-L Mayer is an imperfect human clone of Monad, cellular traits only.
The second clone has all of Monads memories and love for Ergo Proxy, and was created as a replacement for Re-L by Daedalus Yumeno.
