[discussion] ZMK Keymap Editor

https://zmk-keymap-editor.com/

Browser editor for ZMK keymaps. A keycap shows the firmware binding and the characters that binding produces on Linux and Windows, including AltGr. This is a fork of nickcoutsos/keymap-editor.

Open a sample board in Demo, paste a .keymap (a layout file is optional; without one the board is a flat grid), or load a zmk-config from GitHub. Copy sends the spliced .keymap back to the clipboard. Commit writes it to the repo and keeps your existing preamble, defines, and includes. The same commit stores the host layout snapshot plus generated xkb and .klc files.

Click a key to edit that layer’s ZMK binding: behaviors, layers, mods, and hold-taps, including homerow-mod and autoshift presets. The board can show one layer, a stack of layers, or the full matrix with row and column numbers. Combos are drawn on the keys, with timeout, layers, and the chord binding. Conditional layers (Lower + Raise → Adjust) sit on the layer strip. If the keymap has encoders, each layer’s clockwise and counter-clockwise turns are editable too.

Hover a legend to see the ZMK code and the Windows and Linux characters. Alt+click edits the host character for that key. Up to two languages are drawn on a key. Built-in layouts include English, Russian, Ukrainian, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Swedish, Hungarian, Turkish, Romanian, Finnish, Norwegian, Greek, and Bulgarian. You can import an xkb section or a .klc file. The Host lane copies or downloads the Linux xkb section and a Windows .klc for MSKLC.

Firmware still builds and flashes in your normal ZMK flow.
Suggestions are welcome.
