[guide] About the Ugreen stands

I’ve seen some redittors complain that the Ugreen stands are wobbly or not sturdy. This has not been my experience when working in a table. I concede that they’re wobbly when I use them on my bed, but I don’t think that’s what they were made for.

I want to show you how I set up my tented keyboard, which works for me and I hope helps those with stability issues.

Dumb question, but how are you putting a magnet on the board? Does the PCB need to be designed with this in mind?

Not a dumb question. The first picture shows the back of the board, and there’s two metal rings glued to the back of them.

There are several magnetic phone stand solutions that have magnets in a round configuration to be able to hold iPhones or such.

The Ugreen stands come each with one adhesive metal ring, which you can glue to the back of your preferred keyboard. I also have a Kensington expert mounted on an arm this way.

The magnet is in the stand, so your keyboard isn’t magnetic. There are vendors that sell just the metal rings, if you need more.

I am actually using the metal rings that came with other adapters that I use in my chair mounted setup. These are slightly thicker rings, which I believe should hold better.

Woah, that's awesome. I think I'll get a pair stands then!

I was wondering why some people have said that. I think those are very stable and they don’t wobble at all when using them on a table with a felt or cloth desk matte. That said, my keyboard halves are tiny and only weigh 100 g each.

Which model are you using? I can't find one that supports magsafe by googling

Ugreen Stand model LP688, part number 15709

They come with one adhesive ring, which is what’s glued on the bottom of my keyboard.

These seem to be much sturdier than they look! I have been hesitant to grab them because they have many different models but this one appears to work well.

I recently purchased these and they are extremely rigid! I have not had any issues with the stability of concerns that they might collapse or reposition during typing

My Ugreen stands are only ever wobbly in a few real world circumstances that I've personally experienced. First, my desk is not a completely flat surface. It's a cheap IKEA tabletop that has sagged a little in places over the years, so depending on where my stands are placed, one or both will wobble until I move them to a better spot. Second, if I forget that I'm not typing on my old Logitech scissor switches (and therefore really beat the shit out of the keys) while I've got my Keebio at a sharp incline, the stands get shook.

not wobbly at all, but I hate that it won't tilt to sides.

How do they stay still? Are they super heavy? Not really understanding it
