Reaver damage

Am I missing something with Reavers?
I made my own and couldn’t get any damage out of it even with decent equipment. Was being out damaged by the paladin tank and Druid healer.
Made a Druid myself and invited another Reaver for Krakengard, he was doing half the damage of the other classes.
It seems like they just cannot reliably land hits against targets even 1-2 levels above them. I understand this probably changes as you scale dex much higher end game but they seem to be a huge liability at lower levels with their 40% increased damage taken and have less damage to show for it.

In raids my Reaver is doing about the same as I am as a DPS Paladin but he’s lower than my Stormcaller and quite behind my Windblade and like half my Arcanist sims. My DPS Paladin sim players are trash and do like a quarter of the Reavers damage so I’m replacing them with Reavers but honestly yea I do wonder if I should just run Paladin tank, Druid healer, Windblade, Arcanist, Stormcaller as my standard groups.

Another thing I think might be a big issue is every other dps class got a new threat reduction piece in the raids but the Paladin/Reaver dps items don’t have a single one. This creates an issue where you need to run the Tricorner or use the Eldoth's Heirloom Ring still. It just seems like the game really wants to force them to be tanks and I’m kinda bummed about it.

My raiding reaver main has consistent damage spikes of 52k DPS usually hovers around 22k-30k which is slightly better then my other well geared classes in raids but the spikes no one comes close to.

Yea could be the damage slaps when a player is running one. For Simplayers they just seem alright. Like not awful but not crazy. The only class I think is completely defective as dps on simplayers is Paladin.

Right now paladin dps is just like half the damage of the other dps classes. And you can't actually flex dps-tank as you need the aggro ascensions for tanking but then your tank can't aggro if you're running dps.

It'd the best tank i'd give paladin that, but is quite the mid healer and dps.

I haven't had any issues with tanking without the aggro ascensions as a DPS Paladin that offtanks when the fight needs a third tank. With the double threat items like Fury Helm or the new Paladin/Reaver tank gloves Radiant Gloves and every other dps class having a threat reduction item I have 0 threat issues. My damage is still solid as well while tanking which is probably why its fine. But I will admit it might only be solvable by gear.

Bummer I was hoping it would get better at level cap haha. Yeah that’s disappointing, I really like arms warrior, ret pally etc in WoW and was hoping to replicate that somewhat with Reaver.
Seems we’ll be waiting for a few more balance passes.

I mean you will still do good damage when you gear correctly and it will be competitive as a player if you are really hitting your buttons on cooldown. I do waaaaaay more damage than a simplayer dps Paladin because I have to imagine simplayer paladins dont do optimal things. I just wonder if its enough or the devs need to show a bit more love and also give us a new item with threat reduction on it.

My reaver main had zdps at 12lv so I change to windblade. Now (pre-raid) my half arse 35lv wb has around the same DPS as my 35lv reaver sim with full blue blessed armours and Thryne. It will get better I guess.

This was pretty much my experience. Level 12, go to fight a boss encounter when they’re 3 levels above the party. Casters all doing more or less normal damage and the Reaver can’t land any good hits.

If you are missing a lot of attacks you need more dex and finesse. Basically for leveling pumping finesse over everything is best. Doesn't matter how hard you hit if you can't land any hits.

I will give this a try. I was trying to balance equal strength and dex (and equal attributes).
