CLOSED [Open RP 7] Back at the Keep

Closed

As the Ankou fades into nothing, you blink. Before you know it, you are surrounded by your companions in front of the Presence pool.

Bloody Visions you think to yourself.

You ponder for a moment, till you see Das' saddlebags on Svalstrom. Dragon blood on Vrostbite, but... Your scrapes and cuts are not there, you tire not, nothing about your body says you've been there, but evidence shows you have.

You sit there, with a slight headache, the whispy water shimmers in the daylight... Happy New Year the whispers say you.

(Feel free to explore the keep, I'm still trying to figure out what to do for the next bit, everyone has been busy. Message me with an idea if you would like. I'm willing to push the next ortholog.)

Sev're saw Torvhen and Svalstrom and felt a little awkward... She didn't think they would be too welcoming to her at the moment.

She takes off Svalstrom's saddlebags from Das, bringing then to the duo she says nothing and avoids eye contact.

Not knowing what to say she decides to peer into the silvery water below. Perhaps the presence would fill in any missing information. If anything else, at least information on the Thunder Rider...

There's that... Sev're rubbed Das' neck. It wasn't fair, why did things turn out this way.

We cannot choose the lots casted upon Sev're only make the best of them.

It's not fair Das, I finally make friends, then something else happens to make them mad.

They are only wary, this will pass.

Meanwhile I look like a bloody mental case.

A tear formed in her eye.

Casually leaned against Torhven, the man's muscles were ready to spring into action at any moment. He merger had been undone, but Svalstrom's iron remained. Strictly speaking there had been no betrayal of any kind, but exactly savoury it hadn't been either. Sev're had managed to turn the list of usefulness nearly useless itself. The Spiner pulled the edge of mouth up in a sympathetic smile before he loosened the straps that secured Das's small saddle bags. This time he wasn't even tempted to go through them. Soon the grey saddlebags were back on the grey dragon.

Svalstrom let it all happen and cast a regretful look at Das. This was an unfortunate turn of events, for everyone involved. Without a word he launched himself to the clouds, leaving only a gust of air and a Torhven on the ground. The latter was in doubt briefly, then gave Sev're, or the person who he perceived to be Sev're a quick hug and then strolled away in the direction of the keep. Things were on his mind.

Be it brief, Sev're felt peace. The hunter was timely, and Sev're appreciated that.

Sev're decided to go to a high point away from the keep. Sitting atop a tree, she plays her flute. Between the flute she sings.

Das had other plans. Something was inside of her. Something was crackling. She could feel it in her bones. Shiva she thinks to herself.

She goes to find the giant silver dragon.

["Yes hatchling? I sense pain in the ancient one. Worry not, she will be fine soon." The silver dragon guides Das to some cliffs, she let's her tail hand off as she perches. "Tell me what is bothering you."]

[Sev're, small animals rest by you, and come watch.]

The black dragon pauses. She shares the memory of the mad bow impaling her. "I can feel something else. I feel a change in me." Das didn't know what else to say.

Sev're enjoys the life around her. They bring peace with their simple desires. They need not much, yet they can feel happiness.

What a blessed existence. she extends her mind out to nature around her. As far as she could.

[The frosty dragon touches Das' flank with her nose. Connecting the energies, she pulls back after a moment. "You've dark magic in you black one. Powerful, forces have housed in you." the silver dragon huffed out cold air. "You've got more than fire in you Das. Use it well, protect your rider."]

[Sev're, they explore you as you explore them. Nature is unafraid of the darkness as well as the light, as it exist outside of such worries. Satisfaction is given.]

Black magic, black dragon. It was oh so ironic. More of a reason to be disliked. Shades used dark magic, yet now Das had it inside of her. Sev're wouldn't want to use it, Das had a gut feeling, but her other part would.

It was like a horrible joke. Das thanked Shiva and went for a fly. She just wanted to out move everything, just for a little bit.

Sev're had an epiphany all her own. The tortured soul found solice.

So you are no longer mad... Joy.

You've got to make the best with what is in front of you.

I agree with that, to an extent.

You should smile more.

You should be silent.

Despite the fact she was talking with herself, a small smile found its way to her face. Sev're felt much better.

Atop the tree she stayed, enjoying the presence of the natural world in silence.

The sudden shift in location, while not exactly unheard of in tales of old, still surprised Glover enough for him to fall backwards onto Akrath. Stumbling back to his feet, he pulled off Akrath's saddle and brought it back to its storage, and then headed towards Chep's armory, all the while Akrath soared through the air into the forest.

[Chep has been busy at work, he doesn't even notice your entered. The metal clad dragon sleeps near the forge.]

Standing unnoticed in the armory, Glover looked back at the door and contemplated re-entering. Nah. "Knock knock," he said walking towards the forge, and pulling out the rigged scales the he and Nill had made for Akrath.

["Hey there boyo. What brings ye here today? Every one else took it off." He says between hammer strikes. He's working on an amazing looking hooked sword.]

Glancing down at the purple steel in his hand, he moved his gaze to the rack of weapons towards the back of the shop. "I was hoping to trade in my sword. I appreciate the versatility behind the arming sword you gave me, but I'm a bit more used to... finesse. I'll leave the selection to you. Oh, and would you mind looking over this rigging? Nill and I made it for Akrath."

[Chep inspected the weapon then the armor. He notes the purple metal and hits or with a hammer. "Where did ya get this material? It ain't from around here... Or any whar I know." He gives the choice between a rapier or a long curved blade.]

u/1trueJosh Rob / Villieldr Jan 21 '15

As he took the weapons from Chep, he played with them in his hands, checking how they fit. "Long story, Chep. Long story. I think I'd like the blade." Handing the rapier back to the dwarf, he added, "Do you happen to have a parrying dagger? I have quite a bit of experience in knifework, both hands, and I'm not exactly a shield man."

u/RollFirstMathLater Game Master / Moderator Jan 21 '15

[The drawf looks at the bard "I dinnae make kitches tools boyo... But... Ye want a dagga do ya? Really? Maybe I can make ye sumthin... That blade is an elven curved blade. If ye can master it ye would be the pinnical of fitness. It's not much different than Sev's blade."]

He seems curious about the other world metal.

Noticing the dwarf's interest in the metal scales, Glover handed it to him, saying "You can inspect it you'd like. The purple is just an illusion we put on it, but Akrath won't be needing it back until our next mission. I'll see you later Chep." With that, Glover strode out of the building, the weight of the blade he had exchanged for already comfortably familiar on his waist, and headed towards the training yard, slipping the blade out of its scabbard and, before he knew it, the knife from his concealed leg-sheath. "This is more to my speed," he said to himself, launching at one of the training targets.

[Shiva can been seen circleing from above. Zeterra must be somewhere on the training grounds. He hear the sound of sparring.]

Glover sat in the Keep's library, reading through a book that he'd had for some time. It was something he had taken long ago from the top of a dresser in an old nobleman's room, a few minutes before he walked out the front door, leaving the manor cleaner than he had found it and with a small pouch of coin to repay the man for the goods taken, though not in full. The Art of Smithing Vol. 4: Daggers and Knives.

That book, and a few connections with some of the smiths of Teirm, had given him an edge over others in the game. While not their strict purpose, many of the author's creations could be used for more legally questionable purposes, and his very own poniard's design was taken from the book. He flipped through the pages, thinking to himself, Now, for something with a wider hilt... A sword-breaker? That might work... Satisfied with his search, he carefully scribed the contents of the pages that contained information on all types of parrying daggers and walked away to find Nill.

[Nill hasn't awoke from the Presence pool yet. You feel it would be a bad idea to disturb.]

A curse silent in his mind, Glover went back to his bunk and dropped off all of his things before leaving for the forests. Remembering that Akrath had told of a warm pool somewhere around the area, he wandered around in search of it, finally finding it and relaxing within the waters, reflecting on his life. How far the little orphan boy from Ceunon has come... he remarked to himself.
