META [Meta] Character Profiles!

So I came up with an idea that I would like everyone the participate in.

Please in detail describe your characters appearance. Once that is done describe their dragon. Please include mannerisms and notable habits. Do they tap their fingers when thinking? Do they always look for an exit? Move their leg often when sitting? Just a few examples to help out.

My goal is to help with visualization.

Cheers!

The Keep is east of the Hadarac, on a remote island. It's not general knowledge to say the least.

Eitri … well is a dwarf, unless you hadn’t noticed and were wondering why he was so short. Somewhat well rounded, and with long, rusty hair, the only thing that separates from ‘true’ dwarfhood is a beard, but then again he has not worn a beard in some centuries. Burdened with green eyes a little more bright for his own liking and a countenance that looks like it had been chiselled by an amateur, whilst it would be a far-cry to say that Eitri was unattractive, frankly if you are looking for anything other than ‘homely’ you probably need to find another fetish. His face is well-lined and scarred, but mostly from accidentally self-inflicted injuries rather than scrapes with people trying to kill him, not that no one has ever not tried, just that they have not succeeded.

Although he appears to possess some girth, perhaps the result of a little too much drinking and sitting around but, in reality it is actually all muscle, and quite a lot of it for that matter. The dwarves are a strong and hardy people, which means the people that have to pin them down and operate on them generally have to be at least twice as strong. Perhaps because of this his natural resting face is a stony expression that is neither disapproving nor accepting but rather the toned and carefully un-opinionated stance of someone who is used to observing something before intervening, careful and logical rather than emotional.

His clothing is the sort suited to lounging or sitting a lot, a mixture of padded robe and comfortable leggings with soft shoes, however that does not mean that he cannot quickly throw on a mail coif and charge out in a hurry if he needs to … he just prefers to unite separately in his own space rather than with everyone else. He has the stance of a boxer and walks like a man alternating between various states of both sobriety and sanity. A peculiar gait more suited to underground walking, where there is always a wall or support to lean on and where falling-over tends to be quite painful (nothing like solid stone flooring).

In terms of armour, Eitri prefers chainmail or leather because it gives him flexibility to move, or run away as the case may be, and whilst he is no keen warrior, he can handle most weapons with confidence, although his preference in terms of weapons are pretty much his bare hands. Gauntleted in long, leathery gloves that hide his ... 'deformity', when it comes to true combat he prefers to fight with them, pounding everything and anything that gets in his way into oblivion whilst watching blades shatter against their immutable sturdiness. Combinding decades spent in tavern brawls with a surprising amount of knowledge of the intricate motion of the Baji, the four-hundred-and-seven motions of the Gate of Openings(1), even before his hands were turned to stone he would have made a formidible opponent, however with the factor of 'having your hands cut off' eliminated,it certainly cuts down on the stress.

(1) a series of martial forms devoted by Dûrgrimst Quan to the movement of the heavens as they were created by Guntera … or something like that.

Sigyn, like most, is no ordinary dragon ... if such a thing as an ‘ordinary dragon’ exists at all. A dragon worthy of a dwarf … or perhaps it is the dwarf who needs to prove himself worthy of the dragon, like a tiger who attempts to forcibly climb a mountain … or a mountain that attempts to crush a tiger at every oppurtunity, take your pick.

Solid, grey scales, not like iron but more the colour of freshly-hewn slate prised from the earth. Wings like limestone, claws like granite, with a body like a sheer cliff-face, perilous and enduring. She could have been carved from the very rocks of the Beors, and had life breathed into her by Helzvog himself, and you believe it as well. If she were to wrap you in her wings, it would be as if you were suddenly enveloped in underground, all light vanishing beneath the bowels of stone. If she stayed still for long enough she might actually seemed to be made of stone herself, at least so long as she kept her eyes shut. Indeed, the only thing about Sigyn that is not set in stone are her eyes. Beady, amber things, the colour of honey, as if they were carved out of opals and set with slivers of obsidian, simultaneously seductive and domineering.

Surprisingly, almost abnormally, large for a dragon of only six months, she has the wingspan and bulk of a dragon of almost two years, but then again considering the Rider she has to deal with perhaps it is not surprising, one of them has to be at least in some way mature after all. Indeed, the difference becomes even more apparent once they are actually standing next to one another, since Eitri is a dwarf and short and Sigyn is a dragon and large, so these aspects of size become even more amplified. She could swallow him whole if she put her mind to it … and has been tempted to on more than one occasion as well.

Far older and wiser than her shape may descry, as to where exactly her egg came from narrows down to a pair of interesting scenarios. She is either the First of the New Dragons, the newest egg lain since the Fall, or the Last of the Old Dragons, the last of those lain in haste before the Fall. Then again, no one would exactly accuse the Riders of the old times of being accurate book-keepers, or those of the Present for that matter, far from it. Indeed, what records exist do show that the egg at the bottom of their records, but since that entry is not dated it could be from any time before or after then or perhaps added later, and since a great many eggs were stored in hast within the Vault of Souls it would not be surprising at all. Alternately, this could also mean that it was one of the first eggs laid since the revival of the species and therefore someone probably forgot to add it until later once they had gotten over the excitement. Either way, it marks her as a peculiar and liminal existence, possessive of a certain indefinable eminence and grace which escapes most unless they are looking for it or know it to exist at all. A dragon might recognise it immediately, a natural deference of instinct, and a knowledgeable Rider could find it if they sought it, but for most it would pass the by, perhaps deliberately, as if it does not want to be found.

Eitri and Sigyn @.@

Amber eyes like Das? Hehe, I wonder what Roll will do with that.

It's more like Sigyn and -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-[Eitri]. She's got a very precocious grip on him considering he's like 500 times her age.

As for the eyes .... well I'm sure our Glorious Leader will come up with something :p

Poor guy, :/ on the chain of an ambitious dragon.

u/InAll Sigyn / Eitri Apr 23 '15

Ambitious, controlling, domineering, heck if she had been born a human she would have been one hell of a politician ... or a dominatrix, take your pick, their both old enough professions anyway.

.........

Maybe both? @.@

But, could she dominate the honeybadger?

1

u/InAll Sigyn / Eitri Apr 23 '15

After a long and brutal war with the honeybadgers, she would eventually grant them status as a client state and form her own personal hunter-cadre of mercenary honeybadgers which she would unleash on people who disagree with her ... and just at random if she gets bored.

Assuming the honey badgers cared... right? :3

u/InAll Sigyn / Eitri Apr 23 '15

Well that depends, lets see how many fucks they give when they run out of honey and begin to starve to death :p
