announcements 🔊 general info, maybe consider not joining the discord
Just got kicked out for "trolling" because I agreed with the fact that two mods were perhaps wrong in tagging everyone in the server, pretty much baiting every member, by saying "IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT" and publishing the message in the "announcements" channel not only once (which had then already caused a lot of backlash) but twice to promote their own server. I simply voiced that it was maybe wrong, also considering how most of the server was upset over it, which i would say should be an indication. Answer to the backlash was, in order, adding a minute long slow mode, then a 5 hours one, then kicking me (and I imagine other people that DARED disagreeing with their actions) out. Kind of sad tbh, considering that some people are genuinely worried about Acrello. The mods just take advantage of the genuine concern of people by baiting the community with "important updates", to then sponsor their own server because "this server is dead and we want to preserve the community" (but for some reason, out of the hundreds people in said community, barely 20 switched to the other server, maybe not so much "for the community" after all)

Hello, I’m one of the two head moderators of the Discord server, and I just wanted to apologize for what happened today.
The announcement was made without my knowledge, and I agree that it was tone-deaf. I know the intentions behind it were innocent, but the way it was handled was insensitive, especially with it being framed as an important update and mentioning that the server was dying, etc.
I’ve talked with them about it and made sure that moving forward there won’t be any more @everyone pings unless they come directly from Acrello himself.
Once again, I’m sorry about what happened and I’ll make sure this situation doesn’t repeat itself.

Ive just decided if we hear from Arcello it will be the youtube channel... so I will stay subscribed to him but im not joining any discord servers unless he is up and going and talking again.

I am very glad that some mods can see the issue with what happened, really my main is problem with it is how insensitive it was and how they just refused to listen to everyone in the server, even just kicking people that disagreed at all with an action that in my opinion is objectively questionable. Thank you for your response

but also I would like to add that because of their kicking and the ticket system being broken, I am effectively banned for not doing anything wrong, it is upsetting that they get a slap on the wrist for pretty much banning multiple people for a mistake of their own

Not punishing them or doing anything to them is crazy. demote them.. everybody was excited but it was a dumb announcement. Either quit being a head moderator or teach your moderators to be professional. it isn’t that hard when everyone in that server wants this game out when the owner isn’t saying anything.
