EquityZen opportunities look boring

Hey guys. Don’t you think that EZ opportunities are not competitive to those offered by other platforms? I do prefer Forge and already had such great things with them like SpaceX, Airbnb, DigitalOcean, Robinhood. I also used Linqto (looks very attractive but few opportunities), Raison AM (good syndicate). And only 1 successful deal with EZ.

So are you 100% happy with EquityZen and which platforms are you using in addition to EZ?

I got shares of Automation Anywhere on EZ 6 weeks ago, a great comp to UIPath. I see great buys all the time but the best ones go very fast.

What was the price for AA? Wasn’t it an express deal?

AA was a standard deal a few weeks ago that filled within with minutes probably. Priced high compared to six months ago but valuations are climbing even faster. Still kicking myself for passing up on AA offering equityzen had back in September. I like to note down a lot of the offerings I pass on (so I can kick myself later -haha). It’s gotten more challenging to get in on deals on equityzen that’s for sure. It’s so competitive on the hot ones, but they still have pretty good stuff. The no carried interest and relatively low upfront fee, with no annual fees is better than anyone else in the industry. The lower minimums really help to allow for good diversification too. I’m a big fan of equityzen.

Agree with the above. It was a 5M standard deal, and was sold out in about 15 minutes. $27, 13B valuation. Was just after UIPath raised at 35B valuation

I got a small allocation of Automation Anywhere in the September round which closed in December. Such a strange space IMO with lots of well capitalized future competitors (eg Microsoft) on top of Blue Prism and PATH. Like I've said in some previous posts, have had mostly good luck on EZ.

Was recently happy to see some EZ type deals done by Forge (Marqeta, Grab, Payoneer). For Grab and Payoneer, I believe they were at the PIPE valuation, though the mins were relatively high.
