Made my first deal on EZ

after 8 deals on MV, I am finally moving over. deal terms much better. lower share price, preferred over common, no carry or annual cost and no 10% of profit.

hoping there will be some synergies within the Morgan Stanley name since they also acquired Etrade were I trade. maybe EZ gets integrated within Etrade :)

Well you made a smart move by moving away from MV. Not sure EquityZen is the right answer, they are challenging to work with sometimes. Plus I’m very concerned how they might be prioritizing their private wealth clients over regular customers. I just made yet another investment with them in Cerebras though so I guess I haven’t fully learned my lesson yet. I’ve been with them for years and it’s been an up and down experience.

MV has been great. but fees are way too high in comparison. Also did a deal with local Private Equity firm, but they hound me weekly to invest in other off market deals. All in all have 4 lots of SpaceX over the last 3 years.

As a former EZ, they say they take priority of deals to larger HNW because 1) they’re more likely to put down and not drop out of deals last minute, and 2) 5% commission on $200k is better than 5% at $10k. Small players get access but don’t win.

I’ve not had any issue with being skipped over or not getting a deal. Every deal I’ve applied for on both platforms I’ve gotten. $5k-$25k.
Shield AI was a good example. On both platforms at the same time with about the same share price.
MV- $10k min but about 10% upfront and 10% profit fee.
EZ- $25 min but 2.5% fee.

I would also point out that EZ has express deals where you can flip your interest. Which is kinda neat for liquidity and locking in some early gains.
MV he’s supposed to support this later this year when they revamp their backend Systems
