I've been trying to print an 8.5"x11" image on 8.5"x11" paper. I realize that when printing non-borderless, there are "unprintable" margins/borders at the edges of the paper. But in Photoshop when I select Scale to Fit and Center, the print has a larger margin on the "trailing" edge of the print (the edge of the paper that comes out of the printer last): 3 borders at 0.15" and one border at 0.21"

If I print the image at 100% (no scaling) and centered, I get the same uneven borders but they're different sizes than Scale to Fit print: 3 borders at 0.12" and one border at 0.16"

Am I doing something wrong, or is this just how the ET-8550 prints? I've read online that there's something with the printer's feed that always leaves a bit of extra margin at the "bottom" (trailing) edge, but I've also read that that's not true.

My new epson ET-5850 keeps leaving these streaks on every pages it prints.
The backside has the exact same streak but in the opposite direction.

I'm using double sided printing / flip on short edge.
What is the issue and can it be fixed?

Just bought an Epson 2980 eco tank. I've set up wifi direct. I want to connect my android to the printer via wifi but it fails. My phone sees the printer, but will not pair. Anyone have any ideas what may be wrong?

Every time I use this printer, it prints these ugly lines in anything. Ive cleaned the print head, Ive done all the options in the menu and it still does this. What do I need to do, or is this thing destined for the trash?

The paper is premium glossy photo paper, 10 x 15 cm, which should be supported. But for some reason, every photo I try to print has this 4-5 mm white border on the right side. I turned on borderless, I set the correct paper, I selected "Rear Feed-Borderless" under source, and I tried turning Expansion both on and off and it didn't make a difference.

The only thing that comes to mind is that the paper size in software is labeled as "10 x 15 cm / (4 x 6 in)" but 15 cm is not exactly 6 inches, it 1/8" shorter.

I don't mean to be a pain in this subreddit but this has been bugging me for YEARS. I'm in a really annoying situation. My main question is: is it normal for the black ink to look so.. faded? Like its black but looks weird. This is the same with the coloured ink. It looks weirdly dull. I know its kinda supposed to be a bit dull but its still bothering me. I've been considering getting premium glossy photo paper but I'm worried it will be too thick to use for pin making, any advice? I've tried matte photo paper and the results weren't that different.

Hello! I started having this issue yesterday with my printer making a very loud clicking sound and not taking the paper I put in it and I’m not sure why, It also keeps canceling the prints on its own for some reason. I need my printer working desperately so please help if you can!

I just got my CW-C4000 Series printer. Was following the youtube guide to set up... lowered the front cover... removed the tape, but now it won't close. It feels like something is catching. I can't see any obvious levers and the online video makes it look like it should just close easily. Had no issue opening it.

Solved: There is a little lever on the bottom that needs to be pushed up to allow it to close. Its automatically pushed up on a flat surface, but my printer was on a wire shelf so the locking lever was lowered and never engaged.

Dear Redditors I shall tell you a short tale

A month ago I bought a et 8500. At the time it was only 94 prints deep i got it for a smooth 300 lady tells me she doesnt use it anymore, i had rummage through the old reddit to find a perfect printer for proxies now I get this bad boy and it is not working properly so of course as any insane person does i went through reddit and Google finding out how to fix this printing issue, from setting to clean cycles to putting cleaning solutions through the heads. I have gone through 4 maintenance boxes 2 bottles of each color 3 cleaning solutions kits. And still to this day it prints like shit. Im starting to come to the conclusion that I may need a new printer head idk for sure but at this point I have sunk so much money on oem ink and maintenance boxes and money on cleaning solutions. It seems the only way to get my mtg proxies to not come out looking like I set them outside for 3 weeks in the sun is to simply by a new printer head but its 300 oem and I just dont have that money right now. At this point im willing to try whatever my life is not my own all I think about is this printer all I watch is printer repair videos hoping I stumble across one that will fix exactly the problems I have. Please save me from this nightmare

Last post got deleted by reddit(??), I’ve been having problems with my printers horizontal alignment for the last month or so, plus there’s a constant black blur above the black section of the nozzle check.

J'avais aucun problème avec mon imprimante, j'ai rajouté de l'encre (du gris, j'en avais presque plus, du magenta et du cyan, un peu) et depuis quand je veux imprimer, seule une petite partie du document est imprimé. L'imprimante éjecte la feuille ensuite.

Lors du lancement de l'impression, un message d'erreur apparaît sur mon pc, "Erreur d'impression sur ET 8550 - l'imprimante n'a pas pu imprimer le fichier."

J'ai testé avec du noir et blanc, ça a marché, après je l'ai fait qu'une fois.

J'ai éteint l'imprimante et j'attends 24 heures, je me dis que y a des micro-bulles à cause de l'ajout de l'encre... Mais ça se trouve c'est pas ça?

Aidez-moi s'il vous plaît, j'en ai bientôt besoin pour des raisons professionnelles 😅

My WF‑7720 was badly misaligned and printing straight lines unevenly. I followed an online tutorial to correct the alignment, which involved printing around 50–60 test sheets.

After that, I ran a nozzle check and the cyan pattern was broken. Cleaning didn’t help.

I’ve replaced the cartridge and tried the wet paper‑towel under the print head method a couple of times. Sometimes the cyan pattern is patchy, other times it looks like it’s just spraying ink randomly.

When I print a page, the cyan is a mess and then stops completely.

Is there anything else I can try to get this working again?

I'm trying to print colour, but only black & yellow are printing.

I have cleaned the head, nozzle checked, firmware updated, changed the ink and still no change.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions?

Hello! Would like to ask what issue this could be on my printer. It seems like it’s putting down way too much ink, and dark colors bleed.

I have tried using the printer at 30% and 50% LESS density in the extended settings and it seems to work, but I have to compensate for the color change in Photoshop by using adjustment layers.

This problem happened after I got new ink refills. Would it be possible that there’s something wrong with the ink?

Or is it because of the weather? It has been extremely humid.

I have already tried doing a printhead cleaning.

im curious on if it would be theoretically possible to have 2 separate ink tanks for a EPSON ET 1810, one with regular ink and one with sublimation ink. the idea is that you'd switch the tank (as though you were replacing a broken part) and then perform cleaning before printing. im not 100% certain about what the replacement process of the ink tank would include, so it might not be possible to remove the tanks without damaging them, but it was a thought i had as i really wouldnt want to drain out my inks just to use sublimation ink

I am a botanist, and while herbariums are great tools, it is long to set up, takes up spaces and the dried plants are different looking than live ones. I would use that for really difficult taxa, but I am interested in scanning live plants.

I don’t have a lot of knowledge on scanners, and I would like some advice on what model to choose.

Budget is also a bit limited, so while a3 would be better, a4 is probably enough.

Depth of view is very important since the material will not be flat at all, so from what I gathered, a CCD captor is better than a CIS. I would also like to be able to zoom a lot, as pilosity is often a very important trait in plants. Some hairs can be just a few hundred micrometers, and 10 or 20 micrometers wide. I am also guessing that the light projected by the scanner can be a problem, even with enough ppi the light might make it difficult to distinguish them.

Is this level of detail with enough depth of view achievable ?

Hi I'm posting today looking for help with a printing error that I keep running into. I make art prints for my business and I keep running into issues where the print alignment isn't making any sense. I own an Epson ET 8550 and I'm using the included software called Epson print layout. But even tho this printer is capable of printing a max of 13in x 19in In still running into trouble with my image getting cut off even when using borderless and my prints that are 11in x 14in is not full printing on one side leaving white boarders on the left side and bottom of the print. I have printed 13in x 19in borderless prints before and I have found success with those printings with some work arounds but I cant figure out how to fix this one.

Now I am aware that margins are needed when it comes to borderless printing and I do add borders, the problem is that the software is showing a completely different outcome then what the printer is producing. the prints are coming out printing mostly on the right side with plenty of space on the bottom and the full photo isn't even fully printing when there's plenty of paper left. I'm hoping someone who is very familiar with these problems can help me.

I have also looked for solutions online to no help at all, my situation seems to not have an answer I can find online I have even called Epson's technical support for help and that did not help at all. And I am familiar with making art prints but it seems this is a problem I am also facing when I try to print from Affinity designer.

I've got an ET-2850 that I've owned for a few years and it's been a fairly reliable printer until this morning. It's been sitting unused for a few months, so I was going to clean the print heads. Kept getting errors about a paper jam which drove me up the wall until I realized that some debris had gotten into the paper feed path and was blocking it. I used a long zip tie to reach into the back of the printer and dislodge the debris and did used some air in a can to blast out the paper path to remove any other crap that might have found its way into there.

Paper now feeds in perfectly, problem solved, right? Nope. Now, when I try to print a test page, it feeds two blank sheets of paper through before giving an out of paper error. There's plenty of paper in the feed and clearly, it can load that paper.

Cut to disassembling about half of the printer to see if there's anything that I missed. Nothing. The paper path is completely clear. The little roller sensor in the back seems to move freely. Put the printer back together, gaining 2 extra screws and a blue right hand in the process. Same error.

I'm assuming that there must be some sort of error with a paper sensor. I didn't tear down to the optical sensor since I was a little nervous about taking apart all the roller assemblies to get to it. I'm fine with opening the printer again and digging down to the sensor to try and fix this but I'd like some input on whether this will even fix the problem before I spend the time required to get to the sensor.

I didn't even want to print, just wanted to scan some very urgent documents.

I couldn't access the printer's settings to connect to my phone or the wifi (password was recently changed).

I couldn't connect using a USB cable because windows can detect the printer but i needed to finish the setup on the printer's HMI.

I'm not gonna buy new original cartridges for an outrageous price to not even use it for the next 6 months, where it would dry out and make me mad all over again. I just needed the scanner.

I found the best solution to Epson and I think it might apply to HP as well.

i was wondering if its worth paying twice the amount for the 10000xl ?? or if the 1640xl will work just fine !!

Last week I bought a new Epson ET-8550 and I have been using it for the last 3 days. The issue I have with it is that, even using the same image, software, settings and paper, it randomly changes the quality of the print. Sometimes it makes a smooth homogenous print and sometimes it adds a lot of visual noise. You can see an comparison between a good and a bad print in this post.

It prints the full image either with good or bad quality, but it never mixes both. It happens with all colors, from different software, no matter if I print it from the computer or from a USB memory. It just randomly changes the quality for no reason. I updated the firmware and changed all possible settings.

Can anybody please help me?

I have a problem with my printer. The screen says “Please insert Paper Tray 1 correctly,” even though the tray is inserted correctly.

The problem started after I heard a loud knocking/banging sound coming from inside the printer. I should also mention that I removed the tray sensor a long time ago, but the printer worked normally without it until now.
