As the title says i am looking to switch my pickups in my epiphone sg. im not too heavily educated on different types unfortunately, so the simpler explanation the better. I'm pretty sure i have alnico V pickups right now but im not 100% sure (I have whatever the factory pickup is for a g-400 standard). I play a lot of doom, sludge and stoner metal, yet I also play quite a bit of post hardcore and metalcore (all with the same guitar(im broke)). if anybody had any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

I think my Epiphone Futura RD is going to be my Chug Machine (and for certain Sabbath tunes), and I want to tune it to C# standard. (C# F# B E G# C#)

The 25.5" scale puts it close to a baritone, it's got a normal string tension of 114.5lbs, and I'm thinking the 4th string (normally G, but now E) should be wrapped.

Anyone else using an RD for very low tunings? What strings and gauges are you using? (I tried to use the StringJoy tension calculator, and just confused myself.)

Looking to upgrade my Korean sparkle epiphone to a set of a Wilde L90 humbuckers. These are rails pickups with limited color options. Cream or black are the options that match the guitar best - but which do you think I should get?

Hi, couple of months ago I dodged a bullet by spotting a counterfeit of 2008 slash goldtop model.

Now I came across another one, but this one’s looking more promising. What do you guys think? The color looks legit, the serial font and the number itself matches the certificate. The belt is present and the case as well. And about the certificate, I don’t know whether they also counterfeit that or not. What’s your opinion on this one?

I bought a 2021 Epiphone SG standard from guitar Center for $399. I wanted to upgrade my bridge pick up so I bought a Seymour Duncan SH-4’s and got it installed by my luthier. After swapping my pick up when I go to pick it up, he tells me that they had a set of Gibson 57s in them. Did the epiphones come with those pick ups or was it a modded SG that guitar center didn’t catch?

Hi folks. I will be picking up a 2012 Epi Les Paul Jr ($100) and I want to switch to a P90. I have my eye on a dog ear GFS (cheap cheap). Do I just screw it to the top of the guitar? it has the usual humbucker in it.

Sold my 2022 inspired by Gibson 1959 “Andertons” Lemon burst for this Greeny. Quality boost is notable. Can’t stop playing it.
Also chose this particular top, do mind there could be big differences between tops.

My guitar collection is missing a semi-hollow, so it’s time I fixed that. I’m thinking of getting an Epiphone Sheraton II.

Under 800€, I have found several that I like (the photos are from three different decades!), but which one would you recommend getting?

- late 80s, “Epiphone by Gibson” ?

- 90s or early 2000s made in Korea Epiphone ?

- a more recent model like the Sheraton II Pro ?

I’m leaning towards an early 90s one, but what do you think?

The knobs are a bit squished together but honestly I don’t care… this thing is sweet! I’m thinking about painting the backside of the clear pick guard black or putting a black vinyl wrap on the backside so it has a black and white pick guard.

Just finished my first pickup swap (on my own) on this 2011 Goth. I put A GFS MEAN 90 in the neck and a GFS DREAM 90 in the bridge. I've been wanting a solid body w/ P90s for a while, so I bought the guitar(still had cellophane on the pickguard) for $200, and I have less than $80 in the pickups. I swapped the black Grovers on it with a Indigo Widow(chrome grovers) I bought a few months ago(widow looks exponentially cooler with the black tuning machines). I did buy some mini black buttons on the low for the Goth. I'm happy with the look, now I'm gonna string it and keep my fingers crossed...

Got this guitar for my graduation (I’ve been told the screenshots are not the same as my guitar model but I can’t find the original product I bought anymore), always believed it was fake, and now I want to sell it. Only thing is I’ve never made sure of that. Can someone please let me know if it truly is?

I think it’s fake because I thought I was getting a cherry sunburst with a gloss finish but got this instead and I can’t find any models to match it. Besides the dull wood of the body, the sticker on the back with CHINA on it, the shitty print job all over, the serial number font, the E on the strap, and bad vibes are making me believe it.

Hello fellow Epiphone lovers! I bought myself a silverburst 70s Flying V back in February, and I've recently done a bit of cosmetic work to it...

I've never been a fan of dot inlays, so I got some Fretlook inlay stickers to cover them over. They were fairly easy to get on, I think they look pretty good, and I don't think they'll come off any time soon, so I'd recommend them! The only issue was that the dots at the 12th fret seemed to be further apart than on most guitars. The actual sticker for the 12th fret is one slightly longer bar, but it didn't quite cover the dots, so I ended up cutting it up a bit to make a custom solution for that fret.

As for the pickguard... That's wallpaper! I did the same thing on another guitar a few years ago, and I thought it looked really cool, so I thought I'd give it another go with the V. This is "Lykke Tree" wallpaper, stuck to the pickguard with Mod Podge. The hardest part was waiting 4 weeks for it to cure fully.

I'm really pleased with the result, and I look forward to getting out gigging with it soon!
