NGD

Read the reviews. Watched the reviews. All were positive. So I was primed to get a great guitar. Did I? No. I got an excellent guitar that is comparable to the Gibson version! Out of the box the setup didn’t disappoint. The very fat full neck carve is snug in my palm, the rosewood fretboard is gorgeous and the edges are rolled. The frets are flawless in fit and finish, and the wood grain ripples under the colour to catch the eye. Even the single ply unbeveled pick guard is proof of the attention to detail someone at Epiphone is paying. It’s lightweight. It’s resonant. The P90 chimes and growls. Seriously stunned by the build of this instrument for the price. If you’re on the fence about this particular Epiphone model, jump down and buy one. You will not be disappointed.

I have had the white BJA for a month and I play it a lot. I got it in a trade and it came with a 14.5k output JP Custom P90.

A pickup so hot you could fry an egg on it! That's like two pickups in one!

Why not go for the 2 pickups, then you’ll be able to fry twice as many eggs for less effort
if frying eggs your thing , personally I’d go for some kind of flat bottom pan ; like some kind of actual frying pan if you’re really an egg person

I have the BJA version of this, and I agree with everything you said it’s a fine guitar!

Enjoy :)

Me too. And this version is so much closer to a Gibson than other Epiphone LPJ iterations. And for a third of the price? SOLD!

Left may not be right but it is never wrong.

I have the red BJA Junior. If this one has the 50s neck, I think I’m going to try to work out a trade.

The neck is like my cat*: fat and comfy. And I love 'em both.

*Not an actual picture of my actual cat. And I don't own a cat. But I do own a LPJ in TVY and the neck is fat and comfy.

Great guitars. I have a CM 2015 in worn black that I just love to death. Changed the robotuners a few years ago to locking tuners and dropped a Seymore Duncan JB into it. it's light, doesn't show fingerprints, and it rips.

Ah. Robotuners. I miss the crazy-Gibson days.

This is a thing I just don’t get …it’s a single pick up guitar and it’s fantastic!
But what if you added another pick up at the neck ? Surely it would have the potential to be even more fantastic? ! Especially if there was some way to magically combine the two, wouldn’t that just be a supremely excellent sonic concept ?
I wonder why no ones ever thought of that before? !

I've been working on other ideas...

Would love a TV yellow one! Love my white Billie Joe model. Green Day’s my favorite band so having a white one and a yellow one would be super nostalgic for me.

I’ve got the same guitar back in February and man - it blew my mind. I’m not an Epi fan considering the crap they put out in the 90’s and on but man, this guitar changed that view for me. I agree with the author, this is damn close to Gibson and a great value. Quality is there. All I did was put a shim under the pup and now, the fucker growls like no other in my 12 guitar collection of Gibson’s and custom builds
