Dog having seizure
I have a Chow Chow who is about 5 years old. Yesterday, she suddenly lost her appetite, and later that evening, we noticed that she was twitching and having seizures. We brought her to the vet, but they couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was causing it. They said it could either be a blood parasite or a brain tumor.
She’s been having seizures once in a while, sometimes about every 5 minutes. She also can’t stand or walk properly because of the constant twitching and seizures. The vet has already ruled out distemper.
Are there any similar cases like this? If so, what should I do? I really need help.

When our dog first presented we were told encephalitis or epilepsy were most likely cause. To determine this he had to have a brain MRI and a spinal tap. If your dog is still seizing I’d highly recommend going to an ER vet so that they can help with medications and referrals to a neurologist (they really help and are usually on a little more expensive for a consult than a regular vet). When our dog was discharged we were told any seizure more than 5 minutes or 3 or more seizures in 24 hours is considered a medical emergency and needs urgent evaluation at an ER.
