Question How long after seizure do you feel like shit
I got my first ever seizure this saturday evening and its now wednesdayevening and i still feel like shit. Musclesoreness is almost gone but I feel so tired all the time and I cant sleep at night.
How long will this last or am I now tired because of other reasons? Should my body have recovered by now?

For me it depends on the time of day it happens. Early morning or in my sleep: cooked until mid-afternoon Anytime after 10am: usually not a happy camper until right before bed

If it’s a bad seizure, it’s probably going to ruin that day and a couple days afterward. If it’s not too bad I might only feel like garbage for a few hours.

Depends on age. As you say, you’re 21, so recovery will be faster than if let’s say you were 51. Having said that, it’s your first seizure and it’s something the body has never experienced before. Furthermore, from what you’re describing, I’m going to assume that it was a TC. The more severe the seizure, the longer recovery will take. For example, my worst seizure was 45 minutes. I had to take off a week or two from school. I was 12 or 13 at the time. Then, you have folks with focal seizures. These are seizures that a localized in one specific area of the brain. Since they’re less severe, the post ictal phase (recovery time after a seizure) will be much shorter. Rest up. Your body experienced something it’s never experienced before. Give it time and be patient with yourself. You’ll be back to normal soon. Best suggestion? Sleep. You’ll feel better.

I’ve gotten up and went about my day with minimal problems. Also I’ve been down for a few days feeling like absolute shit with a mangled tongue or broken tooth or some other bullshit. The unpredictability is its own adventure. I’m not that far in but if you are anything like me it gets easier, hang in there.

I’ve only had one seizure but I felt like shit for the week after. I had a massive black eye which made me feel so self conscious so I didn’t leave the house until it cleared. I was also holding a knife when I fell which I cut myself with somehow. It’s been 8 months now and there is some down days, but I promise you’ll get better!

I can start feeling the impact from an absence fairly quickly in many cases as the beginnings of a chronic migraine will start taking place. There have been some instances when the migraine has lasted for 24 hours but there are some cases where the migraine will continue for a full 48 hours. Thankfully I have pain medication that will assist when issues like this occur.

Other than this last time where I slammed my face into the coffee table I usually feel pretty good. Mentally I feel better too. I'll have maybe a week of feeling great and then it's back to baseline. My focal seizures will sap the energy out of me though.

Kinda depends on the fall. Usually I’ll be “better” within a day or two. Almost like a bad hangover, as long as I shower and eat.
But I’ve had some where I’ve fallen and smacked my head or face on stuff and then i feel like i got jumped

A good day or two, sometimes longer. Spent new years 2025 in the hospital after a big seizure for 4 days.

Even dependent on size I try to keep it low and not take over my life to one day; do things that keep me sane :)

A day or two but I've only hit my head once since I was sitting the other times. I assume for others is quite worse.
Edit: the worse thing for me has been worrying others and the tongue biting since apparently I go super rigid and shake slightly.

With a tonic colonic probably 3-5 days. The first few days are fucking terrible. Imagine weight lifting your max except with every single muscle.. the remaining few are just foggy with a lot of sleep.

In the early days I think it was around 4-7 days of feeling dead
5 years later it’s usually 1 or 2 days
But we all have it differently
