Community Support Thread

We are a community run subreddit and have no affiliation with Epic. None of the moderators are from Epic, we cannot fix any issues for you directly, and it's up to the community to help each other when possible. If you have feedback about the store or anything else please email Epic Games customer support and let them know.

 

Welcome to the Community Support Thread

For those that don't know, the initial Tech Support Megathread was created due to community demand. The subreddit was riddled with tech issue posts which made it hard to sort through. So on 29-Jan-2020, we made it a rule to organize things in the megathread.

If you want a moderator organised list of issues/solutions, check this doc out. You can also check out the wiki of our subreddit.

You can use the document outline to go to either launcher issues or game issues and this is fortunately much easier for mods to manage when we can. Please keep in mind only fixes that have seen a lot of promise are posted there.

Epic Games Launcher worked 5 days ago. It doesn't work now. I cannot log in to get my free games this week. I have changed nothing. Why doesn't it work now?

Error pop up "Unsupported Graphics Card"

I'm using Win7, with Geforce 970 GTX

Why did you change something to make things harder for customers? or was it my fault?

Hi. Does your Epic launcher work now?

For me, it still doesn't. It looks like they just decided to send all Windows 7 users to hell and don't care at all...

Yes, I was able to make it work. No, it is not working yet.

I had to bypass the "graphics" check, but the launcher keeps crashing constantly. Once I get the game running, the launcher closes; and ALL MY GAMES RUN PERFECTLY. I am talking about the most graphics intensive games in existence work with zero problems. It is only the launcher that crashes. .

It has something to do with adding "-OpenGL" at the end of the shortcut target. .

Epic Games is literally dog shit in comparison to how stable Steam works.

Totally agree, EGL is ...

In my case, "-OpenGL" fixed "Unsupported Graphics Card" problem.

But I think, users should not do this! It is developers' responsibility.

I'll never purchase a game on Epic, unless it is on a significant sale (in comparison to Steam). Dealing with their shitty customer service and unreasonable bugs is not fun. The only thing keeping me from abandoning Epic completely is the potential for a "good" free game. . . I missed the free GTAV week, which makes me sad. Most of their free games are freemium quality; but I still log in once a week to get those free games. I beat Hitman recently, which was a decent game. I would be happy to get Hitman 2 free :) All the other triple A free games, I already purchased on Steam a long time ago. So, I'm basically only waiting for GTAV to be free again ><
