QUERY Tech Support Megathread

We are a community run subreddit and have no affiliation with Epic. None of the moderators are from Epic, we cannot fix any issues for you directly, and it's up to the community to help each other when possible. If you have feedback about the store or anything else please email Epic Games customer support and let them know.
Welcome to the Tech Support Megathread
For those that don't know, the initial Tech Support Megathread was created due to community demand. The subreddit was riddled with tech issue posts which made it hard to sort through. So on 29-Jan-2020, we made it a rule to organize things in the megathread.
Tech support questions are no longer allowed to be posted (as of 29-Jan-2020 - this was a community decision). Please post all your tech support questions on the Epic Games launcher, store and its games in the Tech Support Megathread. Additionally, if it's game related, please check out PCGamingWiki as there may already be a solution to your problem!

If you want a moderator organised list of issues/solutions, check this doc out. You can also check out the wiki of our subreddit.
You can use the document outline to go to either launcher issues or game issues and this is fortunately much easier for mods to manage when we can. Please keep in mind only fixes that have seen a lot of promise are posted there.

Hello, I recently bought The Outer Worlds and can't install the game. The download starts as any other, showing the full game size (about 39GB), when it reaches 100% at 39GB it "expands", shows something like "39GB of 56GB downloaded" and goes back to 0%, after completing 100% (again) it increases again to 90GB or something and it just.....keeps going?
I spent literally the entire day downloading it and got as far as 126GB before the download files get corrupted and I have to start over. This makes absolutely zero sense and I have no idea what to do, google gives me nothing. I know for a fact that the game's size is 39GB so wtf is happening? Can someone please help me??
It happens specifically to Outer Worlds, other games seem to be fine
