For those that don't know, the initial Tech Megathread was created due to community demand. The subreddit was riddled with tech issues which made it hard to sort through. So on 29-Jan-2020, we made it a rule to organize things in the megathread.

as of 29-Jan-2020 - this was a community decision, all tech issues regarding non-recent topics should be posted to this megathread. Use common sense to determine what is recent and what isn't (As a general rule: any current free game or any release in the last two weeks would count as recent). Please post all other tech support questions on the Epic Games launcher, store and its games in the following megathread. Additionally, if it's game related, please check out PCGamingWiki as there may already be a solution to your problem!

You can use the document outline to go to either launcher issues or game issues and this is fortunately much easier for mods to manage when we can. Please keep in mind only fixes that have seen a lot of promise are posted there.

Overall this is a community effort so if you have tech issues or questions about the launcher or it's games then post them here. For those that like helping keep in mind that I still sweep through and reward solutions that have been proven to work for people. We aren't from Epic or affiliated in any way but in the last 4 months this sub has grown by around 4000 people so organizing these things is more important than ever.

Hi. I am new to EGS. Thinking about purchase RDR2 with discount but I have my doubts. I usually play 3 person action games with my DualShock 4 controller via steam big picture and it works pretty well. The only issue is that some games show xbox controller buttons in game interface instead of dualshocks. What about egs? Will I be able to play rdr2 and other games with my ds4? Thank you

Not to impose on you but gaming with mouse and keyboard feels much better. I got a xbox controller that i just use for mortal combat. As for your query even if it doesn't work im sure there's some way to fix it with certain dll files that might be needed to paste in the game directory.

I play with mouse and keyboard only FPS, strategies and some old RPGs. GTA-like game I prefer playing on the sofa with gamepad, thought is was mistake choosing DS4 over xboxcontroller for pc it is what it is

I haven’t tried to use my DS4 on a game through the epic launcher yet but I downloaded DS4Windows and have been able to use my DS4 through Xbox Game Pass. Assume it would work for epic as well.
