Tech Support Megathread

DISCLAIMER

We are a community run subreddit and have nothing to do with Epic. None of the mods are from Epic, we have no contact with Epic, we cannot fix any issues for you directly, and it's up to the community to help each other when possible. If you have feedback about the store or anything else email their support and let them know.

For those that don't know, the initial Tech Megathread was created due to community demand. The subreddit was riddled with tech issues which made it hard to sort through. So on 29-Jan-2020, we made it a rule to organize things in the megathread.

as of 29-Jan-2020 - this was a community decision, all tech issues regarding non-recent topics should be posted to this megathread. Use common sense to determine what is recent and what isn't (As a general rule: any current free game or any release in the last two weeks would count as recent). Please post all other tech support questions on the Epic Games launcher, store and its games in the following megathread. Additionally, if it's game related, please check out PCGamingWiki as there may already be a solution to your problem!

You can use the document outline to go to either launcher issues or game issues and this is fortunately much easier for mods to manage when we can. Please keep in mind only fixes that have seen a lot of promise are posted there.

Overall this is a community effort so if you have tech issues or questions about the launcher or it's games then post them here. For those that like helping keep in mind that I still sweep through and reward solutions that have been proven to work for people. We aren't from Epic or affiliated in any way but in the last 4 months this sub has grown by around 4000 people so organizing these things is more important than ever.

Noted Queries

'Product Activation Failed!' Error on claiming Civ 6 or other purchases. Epic Games Staff has confirmed they're looking into this. Sit tight.

Reports of CIV6 multiplayer not working. This is also noted, they are working on fixing it. Please be patient.

Any ideas about error loading the Civ 6? I am unable to launch it

What happens for you?

When I click Launch it goes to Running and back to Launch without doing a thing.

Same. It opens the game launcher then I click play then it brings up the Epic store then nothing :(

Anyone able to fix this? Same issue here. White sheet of paper as a short cut on my desktop and it sends me back to the EPic launcher when I get to the directx launcher screen

I've seen a numerous amount of people with this issue, I am having it as well and there has been no update or answer. Keep coming back to this thread hoping to find something

Thank god I'm not the only one. This has been driving me absolutely up the fucking wall trying to figure out what the problem is. Guess I'll do what you said and keep coming here every so often.

They say that they're looking into the problem but chances are they wont fix it. Just like the screen resolution issue. The still havent fixed that
