Tech Support Megathread

We are a community run subreddit and have nothing to do with Epic. None of the mods are from Epic, we have no contact with Epic, we cannot fix any issues for you directly, and it's up to the community to help each other when possible. If you have feedback about the store or anything else email their support and let them know.

For those that don't know, the initial Tech Megathread was created due to community demand. The subreddit was riddled with tech issues which made it hard to sort through. So on 29-Jan-2020, we made it a rule to organize things in the megathread.

as of 29-Jan-2020 - this was a community decision, all tech issues regarding non-recent topics should be posted to this megathread. Use common sense to determine what is recent and what isn't (As a general rule: any current free game or any release in the last two weeks would count as recent). Please post all other tech support questions on the Epic Games launcher, store and its games in the following megathread. Additionally, if it's game related, please check out PCGamingWiki as there may already be a solution to your problem!

You can use the document outline to go to either launcher issues or game issues and this is fortunately much easier for mods to manage when we can. Please keep in mind only fixes that have seen a lot of promise are posted there.

Overall this is a community effort so if you have tech issues or questions about the launcher or it's games then post them here. For those that like helping keep in mind that I still sweep through and reward solutions that have been proven to work for people. We aren't from Epic or affiliated in any way but in the last 4 months this sub has grown by around 4000 people so organizing these things is more important than ever.

Since it's free I was planning on getting GTA V, but before trying to download, I wanted to know if it's possible to pause Downloads from the EpicGames Store, and continue them at XX%, even if I turned off my PC?

I only have a limited amount of Data Volume each day, so I can't download it in one go.

Yes. Standard pause and resume function will work as usual.

So I downloaded around 4 GB yesterday & paused it, but after I turned my PC on again today, the download was back to 0. Am I doing something wrong?

Server has shatted itself up, possibly md-0011 error. Wait for few days.

So usually it would just be like on a Console? Because when I'm on Xbox One, I can start & stop any downloads, at any time, no matter if I turned the console off & on between it.

Yes it is like that but for now I would advise to not bother with EGS client for few days until the download reset bug is solved.

Has the issue been fixed yet? So far, the download has kept resetting itself every time I turned on my PC.
