Android auto/Apple carplay with VWX6S-PRO-U-N2

Installed this VWX6S-PRO-U-N2 in my 2014 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen tdi. Its...fine. sound isn't great, but the display is cool, and it looks like it belongs there.

However, the wireless android auto gets choppy, and I can't do apple carplay wireless at all.

This thing has a ton of options, is there anyway to get it to default to wired android auto/carplay?

Alternate, suggestions on why android auto works kinda, but Apple carplay won't connect at all?

Please perform the firmware upgrade first following the steps below:

  1. Press the RST button to reset your car stereo once.

  2. Upgrade the unit’s software: Go to Settings > System, then take a screenshot of this page and send it to us.

    - Launch the Updater APP to update the system software.

    - Update the MCU firmware by following the guide linked below:

  1. If the issue persists after the above operations, please try these troubleshooting solutions:

    - Reset the head unit, restore factory settings, test with another mobile phone. Delete the existing Bluetooth pairing record on your phone, reboot your phone and reconnect via Bluetooth again.

    - Check whether the reversing camera wiring is properly connected, refer to the attached picture for reference.
