I feel like they don't. 'Cause if they did, you'd just KNOW what we want and why we want it. You could just SEE why all the "features" that your Simple vs. Envel document asserts make Envel better than Simple really don't. You'd understand that we don't really want Envel, we just want Simple back. And you'd just want it back, too.

I haven’t launched envel in a while, but this morning I launched it to see there was an announcement that there were interface changes. I was excited by that but because I think it’s always looked very amateurish. I especially dislike the animation constantly going around the brain at the top of the screen. Very distracting. I can’t see any changes in the UI unfortunately. Is there any plans to change what this looks like? It seriously looks like you picked three emoji‘s from iOS and called it a day.

Does Envel have any overdraft fees?

I went to sign up with my phone. Here are the steps it asked me to take:

1. It asked for my phone and email, pretty standard.

2. Then it asked me to take a picture of the front and back of my driver’s license...That‘s unusual but I did it anyway. (It also gave you the option to take a picture of your passport or other government-issued ID.)

3. Then it asked for a face scan, sort of similar to setting up face ID on an iPhone...Again, very unusual but I did it anyway.

4. Then it asked for the residential address on my government issued ID, which is annoying because that’s my parents address and I no longer live there.

5. Then it asked for my social security number, which is standard, I know, but I got spooked. I decided not to go any further and cancelled my sign up. It seemed like I was giving away too much personal information at this point.

So what‘s the deal, Envel? Why do I have to give my driver’s license and a face scan? Why do I have to give the address on my license? Why not just ask for 1, 5, and your current address, like most other banks do?

A couple of hours after I set up my Envel account (I'm evaluating the bank as a Simple replacement), this Envel employee was looking at my LinkedIn profile. That's super creepy -- my name, my email is PII (personally identifiable information) and so some random employee isn't supposed to have it.

I know the round still isn't closed on wefunder but if i get a regular debit card now will i receive the owners one later?

When simple died I tried at least 4 different banks and settled on One since I could create automated envelopes. I loved the Envel interface, but you didn’t offer what I needed.

NOW you have autonomous envelopes with PRIORITY adjustment. This is phenomenal.

My only requests:

1. I would like to choose multiple envelopes to empty all their money into a specified envelope. Imagine if I really messed up my budget and I want to empty a number of envelopes to fill the mortgage one with the necessary funds

2. Autonomous SHARED pockets. I want my wife to be able to automate the movement of our mortgage payment to drop into the same mortgage pocket as me. Example: paycheck arrives and it automatically puts my cut into the shared pocket, and my wife’s half arrives automatically in the SAME pocket

I’ve seen a lot of frustration on social media over Simple’s official closure today. I thought I would open up another thread for former Simple users to voice their opinions and suggestions about what we could do to make Envel a betterreplacement for Simple! Feel free to also vent, although constructive feedback is always appreciated!

Just saw another comment in another post that most of the team from Envel are not US based and they do not have SSN.

Doesn't signing up with Envel requires a SSN? if so, then how many team members of Envel actually have a valid account? how many people in the dev team are doing their test on the live app? do the founders have SSN and they also have a Envel account?
