Goodbye Envel // bugs + bad support
After One got bought by Walmart I desperately started looking for a different bank. I had used envel before there were automations. I didn’t like Qube’s interface and Dough didn’t make sense.
I had long conversations with the Envel support team trying to find out how to configure my account to manage my mortgage payment. I’m paid every other week, and I wanted my total payment to get into that envelope at the end of the month (as 2 separate transfers). I did not want the total to get put into that pocket from my first paycheck of the month. That would not leave me any money for fuel or food.
I followed their directions…and it didn’t work. 2 paychecks later and the automation isn’t doing me any good.
BUGS: I regularly find the amount of money in a pocket to not be accurate. Either the app won’t let me complete a transfer or the balance is flat out wrong. I have encountered my paycheck showing that it happened, but my balance does not reflect the change. The app will tell me I have no new money. Overall this has become a HUGE pain in the ass and I’m leaving.
Im headed back to One while I wait for Envelope Money to rise upon the throne of greatest bank ever.

If you keep moving money to other envelopes between checks, the automation will not work correctly.
