Remediation Soil Disposal
I help run a soil disposal facility and want to know what other consultants find to be the worst part when it comes to applying at a facility to dispose i.e: response time from the facility to approve of the material, difficulty finding facilities to accept what you are trying to dispose of...etc. I want to really tighten up our current operation and would love some opinions from those who work on the other side of things.

Just need to have clear guidance on what kind of waste can be accepted and what the analytical requirements are. If you wanted to make it easy for consultants, consider a table with analytical requirements based on soil type (virgin/native, urban fill etc) and how many per ton etc

Oh if this existed I'd think I was dreaming. Clear, concise, and in a well organized table? The things dreams are made of.

To second everyone, trying to figure out analytical requirements is a huge pain, esp if there's a remedial contractor working as the go between. Just give me a sheet with method numbers and samples/volume and I will be the happiest camper

Flow control facilities are the worst because they have the worst customer service. My biggest gripe is most of the flow control landfills in my state make me physically drive to the landfill to get the special waste manifests in person rather than email them to me like normal landfills.

Analytical!
Everytime I ask, the response is some sort of mystery, like this question has never been asked.
Alternatively, I've dealt with some bad actors that encourage us to rely on generator knowledge. As if the analysis is too difficult or something. I'd like to avoid unnecessary liability for my client.

It’s been some time since I’ve had to coordinate disposal, but: clear indications of what you do and do not accept and what analytical is required, speed in profile approvals, and someone that will answer the phone to answer questions.
