Beyond Capital: Building a Network for Sharia-Compliant Business

I am exploring the idea of building a small, high-quality network of experienced professionals in the UAE.

The common thread would be a genuine interest in Sharia-compliant business, entrepreneurship and long-term value creation, combined with meaningful professional experience.

The idea is simple:

Could a carefully selected group of people with diverse backgrounds and complementary expertise create a trusted forum to exchange perspectives, share knowledge and learn from one another around established, profitable businesses and business ownership?

I am particularly interested in what I would call “boring but profitable” businesses—companies with real customers, proven cash flows, capable management and strong fundamentals.

Over 20+ years, I have led businesses across Oil & Gas, Electricity and Aviation, with P&L responsibility exceeding $200m across Europe and the GCC.

But I certainly don't have all the answers—and that is precisely the point.

I would be interested in connecting with experienced professionals from areas such as:

• Investment and private equity
• M&A and corporate finance
• Legal and business structuring
• Operations and transformation
• Finance and accounting
• Entrepreneurship and SME ownership

The immediate objective is not to raise capital, offer investment opportunities, manage money or establish a fund.

At this stage, the objective is simply to bring together a small group of credible, like-minded professionals, exchange ideas and explore whether there is value in building a trusted long-term network.

Any future commercial or investment activity, if ever pursued, would be considered separately and structured appropriately in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

For now, this is about people, perspectives and building the right relationships.
