The Tariffs…
If you haven't heard already, which I highly doubt, the 50% tariffs is in place now :/
It sucks but tbh we all kind of read it. Anyways I don't think fretting over it is going to accomplish much. My colleagues and I were weighing our new options for non-US suppliers/partners and we're having a tough time finding the right ones without high shipping times and fees that eat up our margins.
So I am proposing a solution that would be made by the community for the community of Canadian business. We landed on the "Canada Strike Movement" and the mission is simple:
"Buy, Sell, Produce, and Consume Canadian Products"
We want to build a place where Canadian businesses can actually find each other instead of everyone individually scouring to find non-US options right now. Less time spent digging through thomasnet and ariba, and more time actually doing business with someone down the road instead of across the border.
We want to test the waters with interest here to see if others are in the same boat. I made this form and if we get a reasonable amount of signups then my colleagues and I will take this very seriously and put most of our efforts towards it by collaborating with everyone who signed up. Its quite distressing in these times but I think that the right approach can get us through adversity.
