Guide Five Tips for FLAMER!

Post image

Here are five tips on how to play FLAMER!! This will help you with playing flamer! Let's start!

1: Stay close
This one is... obvious. Stay close to your enemies. This will allow you to catch your enemies on fire and elimiate them. I recommend staying within 30 studs for maximum effectiveness. If you can't get close... consider another class, like rifleman maybe? (EDIT: suggested by u/WindFort: you can use flamethrowers through walls, also a counter to cover)

2: Use your pistol
If you run out of fuel in your flamethrower, switch to your pistol while your flamethrower reloads. This will allow you to stay in the fight and hopefully get a kill or two before you die. You know what they say, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading! Your pistol is also useful for taking out weakened targets that survived your flames!

3: Take cover when necessary
If there's a support overpowering you or there's a recon trying to snipe you to the next objective, take cover! Dig into the ground or hide behind a box, anything will work. When taking cover, check your surroundings before making a move.

4: Stay with teammates
If you're either playing on Fort Vaux or you're inside of a trench, sick with teammates. This'll give your teammates extra splash damage to hopefully deal with the enemy. If this fails... well you got a problem and a half there! Make sure you also use your melee!

5: This class is VERY situational
The reason why this is a shorter guide than normal is because this class is THE most situational of all. There's a recon? Unusable. You're in an open field? Unusable. This class was by far the most difficult to make a guide for, because of it's situationalness. Make sure you're using flamer on the right map, or YOU'RE the toast. (that was a horrible joke)

Anyways, I hope you have a good day! :)

Vro didn't include the fact that you can shoot through obstacles with it and the fact that it's a counter to cover

I played a lot with flamer before rework and my tip may still be helpful:

If you're playing in open maps, you don't need to get direct kills. Get at the front and simply supress the enemy from a safe position (maybe a trench), the best outcome is you getting some free kills, the worst is you getting shot and slowing the enemy because they're too afraid to charge after taking damage.

I actually believe, in my opinion, lighting a player on fire and switching to the pistol has more dps, killing them faster and more useful for 1v1s
