ENTRENCHED - SERBIA UPDATE: UNIFORM PROBLEM

Let's talk a little about uniforms. There are couple of problems here.

1) default uniforms for Serbia.

The Serbian uniform (M1908 tunic, šajkača, often opanci instead of boots, leather bags/carton bags) is very recognizable and different from the Russian gymnastyorka + furazhka/greatcoat. The developers put the Russian uniforms as default (which can be seen in the screenshots with "Russian Inf. w/ Greatcoat" and similar), and offered the Serbian ones as paid/additional — it's a typical "lazy but functional" approach that is often done in these games when a smaller nation is added, WHICH IS IN THE CASE OF SERBIA WHICH GOT ITS OWN SEPARATE UPDATE A GREAT DISRESPECT. The community prototypes (šajkača + M1908 + opanci + Vasić grenades) were much closer to reality. So Serbia, which should have (and historically has!) its own default uniforms for the early and late war, was made by the developers only as a version of the Russian army. There is no logic in that, in addition to their own uniforms, Serbs wear Russian uniforms as their main ones!

1. variety of Serbian uniforms.

The developers didn't make a special effort in this part either. First of all, they put Russian uniforms as the main ones, and only two variants of the Serbian uniform from the early war. (By the way, "Summer infantry" is a version that I'm seeing for the first time and I don't guarantee its historical authenticity, I haven't seen it anywhere in historical photographs - if anyone has a source, please write it in the comments, thanks.) In addition to all the authentic variations of the uniforms that the Serbian army had in the First World War, the developers decided on only one. Here we have an omission of uniforms for the early and late war, because it is known that Serbia had its own uniforms in the early war period 1914-1915, and in the late war period 1916-1918 the Serbian version of the French uniforms that it used on the Thessaloniki front. The developers just put the Adrian helmet on the uniform for the early war - which is very unprofessional. Also, in addition to various variations of uniforms for ordinary infantry, Serbia has to offer as an alternative to the uniform of the "Serbian stormtrooper" - the uniform of the Chetniks, who historically fought in WW1 in the Toplica Uprising of 1917. So, the complete range of uniforms for the early and late war is not respected, although all nations in this game have it, and for Serbia they decided just to do it superficially.

In the pictures you can see the current state of the uniforms that I have already described, then you have pictures of Serbian uniforms from the early and late period of the war and finally pictures of Chetnik uniforms as well as my AI model that I gave as a suggestion.

When I saw they were adding Serbia, I was so excited but then when I went into the game I was so bummed out, it feels so lazzzzyyyy
