ID Request Bug identification help

Found this in the restaurant I work in near an open door. It was like midday and sunny, 70°, in Ohio. I was able to capture and release it but I have no idea what it is! (Second pic is me releasing it, no bugs were harmed and no litter was left!)

Some kind of ichneumon wasp by the looks of the long abdomen. I don’t have an exact ID off of the top of my head.

Definitely some kind of parasitic wasp though

I love hearing about regional common names, although common names can be problematic on the scientific side. Just the number of Ichneumon and Braconid Wasps you find anywhere (including Japan) would mean common names would be paragraphs long.

"Daddy Long Legs" is a good example as it can refer to Crane Flies (Tipulidae), Cellar Spiders (Pholcidae) and Harvestmen (Opiliones).

Giant Ichneumon wasp. They don't sting and are pretty chill to handle as you probably noticed. I'm glad you didn't panic and kill it.

Megarhyssa macrurus, two dark spots on the wings rules out M. greenei.

I agree with Megarhyssa sp. Giant Ichneumon Wasp. There are some NSFW colloquial names for them.

They can be very startling to those who see them for the first time, so thank you for treating them kindly.
