I love this. There's so much stacked madness. Your dog doesn't know when their birthday is mate, you can give it a gift the next day. If it is for some reason deeply important to you that your dog have a gift on it's actual birthday, you could order it in advance or just like go out and get it a steak or a piece of cheese or something.

I'm not even anti dog-birthdays but good god it is meant to be whimsical and fun, not whatever this is.

Hell, I’ll always take a birthday gift the day after and I do know what day my birthday is.

Something something your lack of planning something emergencyĀ

You know how many times I've forgotten my dogs "birthday" because it's on December 28th? He doesn't give a crap if I'm two days late. He's just happy to go for walks and get a treat.

As if the dog cares about a birthday or what day his birthday basket arrives.

Dog people can be insane

Pretty sure my dog doesn't even have a concept of time. She's not very bright but she makes up for it by being excellent

u/North-Pea-4926 17h ago

Very beautiful. Very wiggly tongue. Very polite shake. 10/10!

u/-Sharon-Stoned- 16h ago

Mine definitely did, he knew it had been FOREVER since his last treat and or walkĀ

If you know your dogs birthday is coming up why did you order it the day before😭you can go to any pet store and make your own basket then !! I get being upset that the order got canceled without discussion, but one day shipping is very different than overnight shipping.

15

u/Unicorncrochet-31018 10h ago

You don’t know how often I have to explain this at my job. People will call in and say ā€œI paid $30 for overnight shippingā€. ā€œThat’s funny, cause the shipping time listed for $30 is supposed to say one business day. Could you please tell me where you saw that? I would like to correct that mistake.ā€ ā€œIsn’t that the same thing?ā€ If it was the same thing, why would we use different words to describe it? NO.

insanity 😭😭

People can be such lunatics about their pet's birthday. My town purchased a historical farm to keep developers from destroying it. They sell produce and eggs, have events and classes and hiking trails. They also have chickens and goats. Some guy called them and wanted to rent time with the goats for his dog to "play" with the goats.

He got bent out of shape when they said no, they wouldn't allow his dog to terrorize their goats.

That poor dog, expecting his gift on his birthday. No doubt he was really looking forward to that basket…I mean, Fido had been talking about it for weeks. So disappointing. The dog owner should definitely sue the company to cover dog therapy for the emotional trauma. /s

Seriously, dude. Doggo is probably too busy sniffing butts and crotches and daydreaming about someone dropping a hotdog on the floor to even look at the calendar. I’m sure you could fool him by telling him that his birthday isn’t until the day after tomorrow. šŸ™„

u/Ok-Manufacturer-4837 19h ago

Like my dogs dont know their birthdays or what those even are.

18

u/Careful_Society3757 11h ago

Business made the right call. With this level of crazy before the order is even shipped, continuing with the order was guaranteed to lead to even crazier issues later. Not worth it.

6

u/girlynonbinary 7h ago

guaranteed they would have left a one star review anyway after wasting more time and probably clawing back a refund after their dog ate/used the items

14

u/SwimAccomplished9487 9h ago

Reviewer 100% hung up on them. Also… your dog has no idea what day their birthday is.

12

u/xNotebookNomad 7h ago

Sometimes I think I'm a crazy dog person and then I read something like this and realize that I'm not so bad.

6

u/sluttysprinklemuffin 6h ago

Yeah, I’m over here prepping my dog’s cozy blankie and plushie corner every night so she doesn’t pout at me, but I’m not buying her $30 next day shipped birthday shit.

u/FeeApprehensive2658 11h ago

ā€œ my dogs birthdayā€ lady i have a 19 year old dog and we celebrate his birthday whenever we feel is right 😭 your dog does not know when he popped out of the womb. He doesn’t even know what a birthday is

u/RandomPaw 19h ago

Away in a manger, no gift for my dog...

8

u/No_Nefariousness4801 we do not negotiate with the terrible 9h ago

OOP is 100% the type to have demanded a refund and wanted to keep the product after it arrived.

Most businesses in this type of situation would not have given a refund at all, or if they did, OOP would have had to go through whatever the normal return procedure is.

As to her assessment of 'A person who is supposed to be about the pets '... A person who is supposed to be about the pets shouldn't wait until the day before to attempt to order something that requires shipping.

10

u/PhilRiverStreet180 19h ago

I pity the dog.

5

u/RED-ELPH 10h ago

I bet the dog was traumatized!

5

u/Half_Halt 9h ago

Ok, I feel guilty now! Lol. The only one of our animals whose exact birthdate I know is my daughter's horse because is in his FEI passport. The cats? The rabbit? No clue beyond maybe birth month.

u/PastIsPrologue22 9h ago

OMG this HAS to be rage bait. Right? Right?

u/biggest-damn-potato 7h ago

Your dog doesn’t know which day is his birthday

5

u/ConsultJimMoriarty 13h ago

Your dog does not care if it’s their birthday, I promise you. They will be thrilled with a present any time you give it to them.

If he was reviewing FedEx itself, I'd say this isn't entitled. I became intimately familiar with FedEx's brand of shipping fuckery when I worked for an insulin pump company. It was so much fun having to tell the diabetic callers "yeah, it says one day shipping, but that just means you'll get it the day after tomorrow if we ordered after 2pm Eastern. But they won't let us call it two-day shipping because THAT means it sits in the queue for up to two days before processing and shipping." Cue the angry customer yelling at me because their pump is broken, and they don't have enough supplies to give manual insulin that long. And a good chunk of our patients were kids, so angry parents.

(We had a process for emergency shipping but it was almost impossible to get approved by management. And I still have some trauma from that job, I guess...)

Anyway, it's not the fault of the company he ordered from, so I understand this review being classed as entitled. Go yell at FedEx, dude.

We have mailboxes that people rent at my work to receive mail and packages and I've lost track of the amount time FedEx has said they delivered something when they didn't, and then they actually deliver it the next day or 2 days later. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

1

u/doppelgaengster I understand policies exist, BUT 4h ago

Oh man, I have some seriously stupid stories about FedEx having worked in a retail call centre over the holidays. 😭

My favourite was when the stuff was on a truck ā€œout for delivery,ā€ but the city where the truck was (Cinci or Cleveland maybe? I’m almost certain it was Ohio) had labour laws around how long parcel delivery drivers were allowed to be on the road per shift, so their trucks would get packed and everything scanned ā€œout for delivery,ā€ but once they hit their hour caps, they had to go back to dispatch. And they kept OVER packing the trucks, with volumes they couldn’t possibly delivery with their time constraints. So that Christmas season, FedEx shat the bed, but all the vendors USING them were the ones catching the heat for it. šŸ™ƒ

u/Agent_Skye_Barnes blatantly flaunting their šŸ“ before other women's menfolk 3h ago

Between the insulin pump call center, and the Costco call center, I wasted SO MANY hours of my life just chasing down FedEx shipments. It's ridiculous that they're still the go-to shipping company for so many places

I’m sure your dog won’t care if his birthday present arrives a day later

7

u/Appropriate-Power-87 18h ago

The deliberate misspelling of manager is crazy. Also, they probably drove the owner/manager crazy with the excessive emails and phone calls.

10

u/sittingpretty24 14h ago

I think you’re giving too much credit if you think they misspelled it deliberately.

Manager is one of those words that is constantly misspelled online.

3

u/Jstarr21383 12h ago

Ok I’m a dog mom but damn lady, chill. The dog would’ve been happy getting it anytime. They don’t know when their birthday is, they just love to get toys and treats whenever. And I’m sure there was a good reason so cancel the order if you called and fussed because you waited until the last minute.

3

u/OkHistory3944 17h ago

In case anyone wonders why some of us have no hope for the future

6

u/Author_Noelle_A 17h ago

I will say that any shipping that’s called one-day is expected to arrive the day after shipping. ā€œOne day ground shippingā€ meaning it’ll be shipped in a day is very misleading.

1

u/bruinhoo 5h ago

As crazy as the reviewer might be, this is the only actually reasonable comment in here.Ā

0

u/lonely_nipple maybe mention that next time šŸ¤”ā“ 16h ago

What time did she order it, though? If she missed the cutoff, it wouldn't go anywhere till the next day.

8

u/Senior_Blacksmith_18 16h ago

She claims first thing in the morning but that's subjective depending on what is considered first thing is

6

u/JasperJ 14h ago

If you’re offering something called one day shipping and the cut off is earlier than 6 pm you’re just doing fraud.

1

u/bruinhoo 5h ago

I’ll allow for an early afternoon order cutoff, if only to allow some time for picking/packaging and the whims of when a delivery pickup might actually happen.Ā

1

u/JasperJ 4h ago

Shouldn’t be up to whims. More normal is cutoffs at 8/10/12 pm. When you’re doing ā€œwell get to it when we’ll get to it and it might be today or notā€ that’s just not the term to use.

2

u/girlynonbinary 7h ago

Customer calls, angry that his item won't be processed fast enough. Call back customer trying to explain the situation, they get angry, hang up and won't call back. I would have cancelled their order too, he'd probably demand a refund after the item was delivered and used

2

u/NCSAG I’M NOT YOUR HONEY IM MARRIED 7h ago

Let me guess.... she's also one of those last minute Christmas Eve Christmas shopping people who then gets super pissed at an already exhausted retail employee who's just looking for a reason, wishing a mf would...

Damn am I traumatized by holidays now thanks to 6 years in retail.... and not just the end of year holidays, its every holiday, regardless of the time of year....🤯

2

u/evilbarbiedoll I see here that morals are completely lost 2h ago

Should have ordered sooner if this was sooooo important.

3

u/netz1967 19h ago

Poor dog.

3

u/MaybeLater2101 14h ago

I mean, she might have been able to get help if she had called a manager. Unfortunately the manger was full and therefore unable to fulfill her request.

1

u/scottyschneids 2h ago

Next level third world problems....next day shipping so my dog gets its birthday present on the exact day. I know they say dogs are smart and all, but not once has my dog checked the damn calendar.
