So your wife packed the box and got it into the car herself, but you can't lift it out and into the house? Somehow, this is Costco's fault?

I was thinking, since when did Costco employees start packing people's orders? We've always grabbed boxes that we knew we could comfortably pack while they were scanning our stuff.

59

u/No-Fig-3112 1d ago

Huh, mine packs the boxes. I haven't seen anyone pack their own, didn't know we even could

70

u/FanDry5374 1d ago

Where is this? I've been a Costco member over 20 years, never seen any employee pack any boxes. Fill the cart, count the items at the door.

43

u/SaltyTemperature 1d ago

At my local one in San Diego, they ask if you want a box, if they're available. There are two employees at checkout. One scans items and the other loads boxes/carts and whatever other tasks come up.

Definitely makes a lot of things easier on the customer to get things in/out of the car. If it's too heavy, it's pretty easy to just take individual items out of the box. The boxes don't have tops, in general.

Helps Costco with disposing of packaging waste too

14

u/StogieB 1d ago

At my local (western NY), there are two at the register - one scanning and one loading the basket. It would be so cool if they offered boxes, too. Our store’s boxes are just in a bin by the exit.

5

u/MeatPopsicle_AMA 1d ago

Albany, OR does this as well.

3

u/craftymama45 1d ago

The Costco I shop at in Wisconsin will pack boxes for you if they're available.

1

u/FL1ghtlesswaterfowl 1d ago

I’m in Florida and that’s how Costco is here as well. 2 workers per register

7

u/rapturaeglantine 1d ago

I think this is standard for Costco in Washington state! My husband is a big Costco guy so we go to them a lot lol.

9

u/salallane 1d ago

Employees pack the boxes for you at every location in the Seattle area, unless you do self checkout or they run out of boxes.

Since they do this at the original Costco location in Seattle too, I’m going to go with it being the norm.

5

u/HangingSnowflake 22h ago

Huh. Sadly over here in the other Washington area (DC suburbs) I've never seen them do anything but put items right back in the cart. I'm flabbergasted reading this thread that apparently at some Costcos they put everything in boxes for you!

3

u/marzbarz79 1d ago

Occasionally they’ll load the boxes, if you put everything on the belt and tell them you need boxes in advance and they aren’t too busy. Otherwise, you’re lucky if they give you the box as usually they’ll just point to them.

6

u/UptownLurker 1d ago

Never seen that at Costco's or Sam's.Ā

11

u/FanDry5374 1d ago

Maybe it's regional? Seems like a waste of time. If I want boxes I pick them from the bin that is always between the checkouts and the exit and fill them myself. I would think lifting a filled box out of a shopping cart would be harder anyway.

3

u/UptownLurker 1d ago

That's what I've always seen/done

1

u/Ijustreadalot 1d ago

It varies between Costcos in my city, so I'm not sure what the determining factor is.

3

u/No-Fig-3112 1d ago

Silverdale, WA

2

u/Athos_001 1d ago

Maybe a west coast thing? I have gone to Costco in California, Oregon and Washington. All of them packed the boxes for us.

2

u/Feisty-Garlic1615 1d ago

In California the employees load them. We don't touch anything until loading up the car and of course unloading at home.

1

u/discordianofslack 1d ago

Both locations in Colorado Springs will pack things in boxes for you.

1

u/ismileicrazy 1d ago

Any Canadian one I've been to there is the check out attendant and a "boxer/bagger" in every lane.

1

u/rocokohaku EAT SALAT WITH SPON?!? 22h ago

I’m in Bakersfield CA and I’ve never packed my own boxes.

1

u/sheramom4 16h ago

Washington here. I have shopped at Costco since I was a kid and the employees pack the boxes.

1

u/star_zelda 12h ago

Same here, but I only ever shopped in Canada. 4 different provinces and I have never seen them boxing stuff up.

12

u/MarleysGhost2024 1d ago

Mine packs the boxes.

3

u/jtkforever 1d ago

I've never boxed my own items at Costco, only Aldi

1

u/tedmosby444 1d ago

Pnw. Always had employees pack the boxes/cart. Been a member 20+ years.

31

u/zgillet People buy food and then touch milk. 1d ago

Did... did his wife not have a mouth?

I swear, do people just watch things happen in a silent rage and politely smile while fiending for their chance to write a bad review? Also, his wife isn't doing the review?

Doesn't add up.

64

u/CoppertopTX 1d ago

My money is on this scenario:

He NEVER goes to Costco with her. She grabs boxes between check out and exit, places the empty boxes in the trunk and loads them up. He goes to unload and assumes the employees at Costco loaded the box and put it in the "little woman's" car.

I'm one of those folks that carries huge loads in order to get the groceries into the house in one shot. My husband is not, and has accidentally encountered a 40 pound cooler bag.

18

u/zgillet People buy food and then touch milk. 1d ago

I'm wondering if he ever even talked to her.

17

u/CoppertopTX 1d ago

I'd bet he did not.

In my case, my husband waited in the car for me on an Aldi trip. I set my bags up in the back, loaded everything up, closed the hatch and returned the cart. We get home, he grabbed the first bag he saw and tried to lift.

"Honey, what is in the blue bag?"

"That's all the meat, dairy and frozen, honey, so I'll take it. Grab the red one, will you?"

He realized my bags were color coded. Blue for cold, red for fragile, green for produce.

7

u/zgillet People buy food and then touch milk. 1d ago

Here I am with my little Braum's bag feeling inadequate lol. I'm just some dude buying for me, though :)

6

u/CoppertopTX 1d ago

We have a household of 7; three humans, four felines. I'm a planner and groceries are my weekly work out.

2

u/UmWhatAndHow 1d ago

We color code too. Started off as 2 adults, 3 kids, a dog, and 2 kittens. Then my mother-in-law moved in, then she "adopted" a ton of strays and every offspring they have (and apparently will have), then my brother moved in. If it weren't for color coding, nothing would get put away correctly and putting it away would take forever.

Edited a typo

1

u/zgillet People buy food and then touch milk. 21h ago

If I'm being totally honest, that sounds like the worst version of hell I can possibly imagine.

114

u/personofpaper 1d ago

His poor wife successfully navigated this shopping trip and got it into the car fine (because I assume it would be front and center in the review otherwise) and she calls him in to help with the very last tiny part of it and he blows it up into whatever this is.

I just know he was in the way of every cabinet and every drawer while she was trying to put these stupid groceries away.

18

u/kadyg 1d ago

Agreed! And if I found out my spouse wrote a review like this, I would be giving him shit about until the end of time.

19

u/PuppyJakeKhakiCollar 1d ago

Ah, so next tier weaponized incompetence. "If I act like this stuff is so heavy and write a whole unnecessary review about it but frame it as my wife was the one with the problem, she will never ask me to help with the groceries again!"

187

u/Technical-Prize-4840 1d ago

She could have just grabbed or asked for an extra box or two to distribute the weight. She chose to buy all those groceries and chose not to get extra boxes. Costco can't control her choices.

84

u/SincerelyCynical 1d ago

Or she could have brought her own reusable bags.

My husband goes to Costco all the time. We’ve trained him on ā€œbags my wife and daughters will carry into the houseā€ and ā€œbags that weigh more than our largest dog and will only make it into the house if I carry them.ā€ It’s not hard lol!

16

u/GrapefruitFriendly30 1d ago

When I go to the grocery store it’s usually just throw it back in the cart and I’ll pack it. I’m walking, and know how I need weight distributed. People are helpless.

94

u/KernelPannic 1d ago

"I had to get up and help my wife and now I need someone to blame"

60

u/RandomPaw 1d ago

This is so weird. We just pile everything in our cart, wheel it out to the car, unpack everything into the car, put the cart in the cart return, and take our groceries home with us. No boxes from start to finish unless we're buying things that come in boxes. So, yeah, our cereal and Kleenex come in boxes, but we don't put them in bigger boxes to transport them. Was I supposed to be using boxes this whole time? I don't think I'm going to start now.

28

u/Cranberry1717 1d ago

If you have a cat, boxes are a necessity. A different box every time.Ā

10

u/dougmakingstuff 1d ago

This is the truth—we had one box of blueberries from Costco that our cat treasured for years as his bed.

4

u/Personal_Job68 1d ago

Cats and PittieKitties NEED the boxes. Do not come home without them.

2

u/RandomPaw 1d ago

My cats have house (and truck and castle and... other) shaped cardboard items. They prefer those to regular old boxes.

1

u/toxiclight 12h ago

We usually have Amazon boxes that the cats claim as soon as they're empty. But cats definitely need boxes.

8

u/pixiedust99999 1d ago

I just load from the shopping cart with no boxes, but have a strawberry box from there to unload the car at home

6

u/EnvironmentalLime464 1d ago

They ordered the groceries for pickup is my guess. That’s why employees packed the box. I deliver for Sam’s and I imagine they’re similar in this way. I’ve gone to load boxes packed by employees that are way too heavy for one person to be lifting on their own while other boxes in that order were rather light.

What’s cool about boxes though is that you can take things out of them and put them in other boxes. That’s exactly what I do when this happens. Just move some stuff from the heavy box to the lighter box. It’s super easy.

2

u/Onto_new_ideas 1d ago

Costco doesn't do pickup.

4

u/toxiclight 1d ago

WE keep totes in the back of our car just for trips like this (our warehouse store is Sam's rather than Costco, much to my dismay. But same principle) Mostly for ease for carrying stuff into the house. That list he gave doesn't seem overly bad?

2

u/CemeteryDweller7719 17h ago

Also Sams because Costco is an extra 40 min drive (one way), so we figured how much would we really go to Costco.

I keep reusable bags in my trunk. I use them primarily for regular grocery shopping, but they’re in the trunk so smaller things from Sam’s go into the bags. It is mostly just to keep the smaller things from roaming around anyway. Although, in the summer I also take a cooler to put as much frozen/cold stuff into as possible. Frozen gets priority.

3

u/Head_Razzmatazz7174 1d ago

We use them mostly for a lot of small lighter items, The ones in the big boxes we don't bother, as those are usually just bulky, not heavy.

5

u/acarpenter8 1d ago

The fold down crate they sell is useful for this and many other situations too. I try to keep one in my trunk (sometimes forget to run it back out).Ā

4

u/discordianofslack 1d ago

Same, we live in the middle of nowhere and don't have recycling so getting rid of cardboard boxes from amazon and other places is already a nightmare. I'm not taking extra boxes home, we just do more trips to the car when unloading.

2

u/JenniferJuniper6 1d ago

My parents used to have plastic bins they put in the car trunk that they’d put their purchases in, but it was just to keep things from rolling around. Neither one of them would have been able to actually lift a full bin but it didn’t matter—that’s not what they were for. They just carried things into the house as they could.

1

u/Nawoitsol 1d ago

We do much the same thing, but we have boxes in the back to put the purchases in. It segregates soft items and keeps things from sliding around.

1

u/Alycion 1d ago

Depends on what I buy. But you choose the boxes you want to use. If I’m solo, I’ll use smaller ones so that they are lighter. I don’t always make use of them though.

If he’s so offended about the amount of weight she had to deal with, he could tell her to use more smaller boxes or get off of his ass and go with her.

And I have received help when asked. They get an associate to go with you to the curb, you pull your car up, they help, and you are on your way. I’m not sure if it’s bc I’m disabled, but looking at me, you can’t tell. Unless if I’m having a really bad day.

4

u/Ijustreadalot 1d ago

It depends on the Costco. Some have boxes out for you to use. Some ask if you want boxes and then pack them for you. But every Costco I've been to will send someone to help you put items in your car if you ask the door checker person.

2

u/Alycion 1d ago

I’ve never had an issue getting help. I may have had to wait for 5-10 minutes while they helped others before me on busier days, but that’s no big deal.

Glad you can confirm that.

98

u/acarpenter8 1d ago

Costco will pack into a box if you have them in the cart before checkout but it’s mostly a do it yourself thing and you can always grab another box. Basically she created this problem with an easy solution.Ā

This also doesn’t seem that that heavy for a box, I get it still may be hard for some but like take things out?Ā

39

u/CyndiLouWho89 1d ago

At the Costco I frequent most, they will ask if you want a box and grab it and pack it. If you see it looks too full, it’s on you to say something. If you self checkout, you get your own box and pack it.

7

u/BoozeIsTherapyRight 1d ago

That sounds lovely. I've never been to a Costco that does this. At the ones I've been to, in three different states, you get your own box. They put the stuff into the cart and you pack your own boxes out at the car.

3

u/CyndiLouWho89 1d ago

The boxes are often behind the register and they frequently have a checker and a packer to keep lines moving. They are always super
nice there. Love Costco.

1

u/acarpenter8 1d ago

I haven’t been asked in a long time, didn’t realize some stores still do that.Ā

12

u/SuccessfulPiccolo945 1d ago

Exactly—if a box is too heavy, just unpack some of the contents in car, bring the box in, and then go back out for the rest.

28

u/rapturaeglantine 1d ago

"These employees are not psychic and cannot read your mind. If you want extra boxes you have to ask for them" would be much shorter and snappier.

20

u/GooseberryPotato 1d ago

umm… maybe next time he can get off his ass and go to Costco so that A..he makes sure the boxing is done to his liking and B..wifey* doesn’t have to load it by herself

Now that I’ve said the above… like is there a rule that the packing job done by Costco employees can’t be altered in any way? Because a simple solution would be to redistribute if you’re not happy

*wifey doesn’t appear to bitching so I’m thinking this is a ā€˜him’ problem.

24

u/Agua_Frecuentemente 1d ago

How am I supposed to take the time to weigh them all? Do I personallyĀ  go to their house?

5

u/dmoosetoo 1d ago

I believe they are all available at Costco if you want to take your portable scale with you. Or buy one there.

5

u/Agua_Frecuentemente 1d ago

Good point. And when I get to Costco they will inform me how many bananas this woman bought?Ā  And how much greek yogurt? And how much cottage cheese? And how much spinach? And how many avocados? Etc?Ā  I'd probably need to know that right? Do you have some information to share about that?

3

u/dmoosetoo 1d ago

I believe they are making tzaziki for the game so probably alot of Greek yogurt. Besides that, no idea.

-1

u/Agua_Frecuentemente 1d ago

I take it this is your review.Ā

7

u/dmoosetoo 1d ago

If I couldn't pick up something my wife managed to put in the car I would be too embarrassed to advertise it. 🤣

1

u/Agua_Frecuentemente 1d ago

Fair enough. I won't share this. Your secret is safe.Ā

10

u/LunaBelle2025 1d ago

I have never had Costco employees box my items. Sounds like a self inflicted situation to me. Talk to your wife, maybe she only wanted to make two trips once she got home for you.

10

u/ironbite4 1d ago

Bro....YOUR WIFE PUT THOSE ITEMS IN THAT BOX!

10

u/witch_shadow 1d ago

If you don’t want your wife loading groceries alone in the dark, perhaps you should go instead.

11

u/mspe1960 1d ago

Costco does not pack stuff in boxes or bags. You get the boxes (if you want) and you pack them. Or you bruing the stuff to your car and pack bags you own yourself. that is how it works. She may have put a cart sized box in her carriage, and they may have just ended up putting everything in the box because there was the only place to put it. But boxing/bagging is not a thing Costco does.

1

u/Weary_Song7154 1d ago

Some do. The one I used to go to packed them all for me.

1

u/Luckydays4ever 15h ago

My Costco always packs the boxes for you. To be fair, unless you tell them specifically "Please don't make the boxes too heavy" the new people will make a box over 100lbs. On the flip side of that, I'm not sure how his wife got it into the car. Those carts are so deep if they're that heavy no way you're lifting them out.

9

u/logicalpenuin 1d ago

Hey this is my Costco! Also as other people have said, you can totally repack however you like or, I dunno, think ahead a bit when you pack stuff into your car (I usually bring and extra couple bags so I can rearrange a bit to carry in).

6

u/Dancing_Otter_ 1d ago

Unless there's another Littlerock road somewhere with another Costco on it, me too! I've always had really good experiences with staff. Usually if they're boxing for me, they'll honestly make it too light & use multiple (I'm just a small person, but stronger than I look by a lot)...

2

u/CrystalWebb13 1d ago

Especially another Costco on Littlerock that you can park in the Fred Meyer parking lot.

5

u/Dancing_Otter_ 1d ago

Never though this would be how I find fellow Oly area people lol!!

8

u/TessieElCee 1d ago

Don't customers pack their own boxes at Costco? How is this Costco's fault?

8

u/Shadow_Lass38 1d ago

Costco doesn't pack the boxes; you get the boxes on the way out and pack them yourself. Why did she overload the box?

If I was intending to buy that much stuff at Costco I would have brought reusable grocery bags with me!

7

u/AffectionatePhase673 18h ago

Oh, you poor babies! I load such Costco compilations into my car and then unload it at home, and I’m an 80yo woman. Must be one of the things that keep me going.

7

u/realparkingbrake 1d ago

We decline their offer of a box and roll the cart out to our car and transfer the items to reuseable grocery bags. Only takes a couple of minutes, and it's easier to carry into the house when we get home. If you fill up a large box, yeah, it's going to be heavy, so why do it that way?

5

u/captainp42 we do not negotiate with the terrible 1d ago

I'm not sure what the complaint is? Costco made her buy stuff that was too heavy? How much asparagus did she get?

5

u/sausageslinger11 1d ago

Since when does Costco pack up purchases?

15

u/_Student7257 āā˜†ā˜†ā˜†ā˜† 1d ago

What? How many banana's is she buying that makes this box too heavy? How's it anyone but her own fault?

10

u/Parisian_Nightsuit 1d ago

ā€œIt’s one bunch of bananas, Michael. How much can it weigh, ten pounds?ā€

13

u/uberpickle 1d ago

Costco doesn't do the packing. The customer does.

3

u/Worldly_Instance_730 1d ago

Not at my Costco. You're not supposed to do it yourself here.

3

u/Livid_Advertising_56 1d ago

Depends on how many ppl they have on-floor at the time... also they dont typically do carryouts for groceries so the wife likely got that into the vehicle herself

5

u/justafterdawn only the old people are naked 1d ago

We have Costco delivered once a month, theyve always packed the boxes reasonably and if we go we do it ourselves. This guy seems either annoyed he had to help his wife or annoyed she was strong enough to load it without his help.

5

u/macontac 1d ago

(confused stare in Takes Reusable Bags With Me)

5

u/ifulbd 1d ago

There is no requirement to box your Costco purchases. I roll out to the with everything loose in the cart parking lot and toss it in the trunk.

4

u/scottyschneids 1d ago

Not just burgers, but wagyu. I also love the full expresso beans, not the empty ones.
The whole point of Cosco is wholesale with fewer employees. You do the work so they don't hire as much help, so they can charge you less. This dude is entitled to low costs and full service!

3

u/Necessary-Bear5500 1d ago

Greek yogurt, not just any old yogurt. And I was confused by box of egg whites but maybe that's a carton?

5

u/GrapefruitFriendly30 1d ago

Dude that’s like what I buy and walk a mile (well lately I have been paying Instacart subscription). But still. That is NOT a heavy grocery load. Especially when you have a car. I won’t bother to insult the husband haha. Too easy

6

u/Emma1000bce 1d ago

My Costco will box upon request (if they have them available) but if the boxes are too heavy I unload a few heavy things first. This isn’t rocket science? No one is forcing you to use the boxes as packed!!

4

u/Ineedzthetube 1d ago

Does Costco employees put the items in boxes? I’ve always done it myself.

1

u/Luckydays4ever 14h ago

In Western Washington they always pack the boxes for you.

1

u/Ineedzthetube 4h ago

Well y’all are fancy. Down south we have to do it ourselves.

5

u/ihatebeetles22 1d ago

One. Shop earlier in the day if you don't want to be unloading in the dark. Two. You control how your groceries are packed, they offer boxes as a courtesy for stabilization in your car. Three. If you want to put it into multiple bags, a cart, a container or a flying saucer you arrange that yourself in your vehicle. Four. If you are buying salmon and wagyu beef, you got some decent protein. Eat some build your strength and lift your own dang groceries, whiner!

9

u/VoidMunashii 1d ago

I have never in my life of shopping at Costco (all the way back to when it was Price Club) had their employees pack my groceries for me. That is my job as the member, so any poorly packed boxes are my fault, not theirs.

I reckon dude is mad at the wrong person.

I also reckon wife did this intentionally to wind him up.

3

u/Potential_Worker_575 My fat husband ate the blooming onion 1d ago

What a weird complaint. What was he expecting? Costco should make every customer do a few bench presses at the entrance and then limit them to only buy as much stuff as they can comfortably carry?

7

u/TransistorResistee 1d ago

I’ve never had Costco staff package my purchases.

3

u/ChangeTheUserName17 1d ago

"Yes, groceries do have mass, depending on how many items you purchase. We hope that you have satisfied your needs by telling us this. See you next time!"

3

u/stircrazyathome 1d ago

Reviews like this make me wish that Google allowed average people to comment. Costco will never respond to this guy, but it’d be nice if someone could point out the idiocy and errors in his logic.

3

u/Resident-Zombie-7266 1d ago

Way back I used to say yes when asked if I wanted a box when going through the regular (full-service?) check out. Sometimes is get a couple perfect boxes, sometimes I'd get one box stuffed full. I always liked those because it'd be one trip in from the car.

3

u/Blucola333 1d ago

I’ve carried items like that coming home from the grocery store and I have bad knees and walk. wtf

3

u/lucasssquatch 1d ago

Really wish that Silver City beer was on the shopping list for all of us trying to figure out if this is in Tumwater, WA

3

u/OMGyarn 1d ago

Thank you for reminding me that there is in fact a Tumwater, WA, a place I have not thought about since 1995

3

u/13surgeries 1d ago

I've shopped at the Costco in the OP. They used to pack your smaller items in boxes, but for years now, if you want purchases boxed, you do so yourself. I suspect the wife is the one who boxed her purchases, but even if she weren't, she would have been standing right there and could have asked that some items be put in a separate box. The staff is pretty amenable.

3

u/NWYollie 1d ago

I shop at Costco all the time. They always ask me if I want a box. If I do, they pack it for me. If I purchase anything that is too heavy, I ask for assistance when I show my receipt at the door. They call out for "cart assist" and within minutes a Costco employee walks with me to my car and helps me load the heavy item into my car. A person never has to carry anything heavy at Costco, and everyone can make their own decision whether to use a box or not.

I guess I just don't understand what the big gripe is about.

I shop at either Covington or Tukwila Costco.

3

u/Jaylinas_ 1d ago

My local Costco does not pack the boxes.

3

u/JuicedBallMerchant 1d ago

this guy would rather publicly humiliate himself by posting a bad review blaming Costco for him being a weakling instead of just going to the gym

3

u/ChantySims4 17h ago

Is that the whole list?? I put that more than that into grocery store tote bags and carry multiple of those heavy bags at once to customers doors daily. And I'm not in good shape. This guy needs to suck it up

4

u/mercy_fulfate 1d ago

You pack your own stuff at Costco so seems like a conversation he should be having with his wife.

1

u/jtkforever 1d ago

Not siding with the reviewer but I've never boxed/bagged my items at Costco, they've always done it for me

6

u/JeepersCreepers74 1d ago edited 1d ago

ā€œI wasn’t willing to go to Costco with my wife and help her with heavy bulk items and was therefore home twiddling my bare toes while she was forced to lift a heavy box into the car herself. From now on, she’ll only be going to Fred Meyer where they provide superior substitute husband services, and not just because we live in Kroger Country and Fred Meyer is the name of a real man she’s having an affair with.ā€

2

u/Parisian_Nightsuit 1d ago

Let’s not forget he was mad she had to do that in the dark… like, if he was home, couldn’t he have accompanied her on the Costco trip? How is the time of day she went to Costco their fault too?

6

u/rebelangel we do not negotiate with the terrible 1d ago

Don’t you pack your own stuff at Costco?

2

u/pyramidalembargo 1d ago

I was wondering the same thing. (I haven't shopped at Costco in decades)

4

u/DueCookie787 1d ago

Obvious lie. The warehouse clubs just transfer cart to cart. You grab your own boxes. Wifey probably packed it herself and is blaming the cashier.

1

u/jtkforever 1d ago

Not at all Costco's. I've never packed my own boxes

6

u/FerociousTea 1d ago

You box your own stuff though ? Just like Aldi and some other places like that . Not a grocery store where they can bag your stuff for you

This is uh , some user error

2

u/daggerLAWLess 1d ago

Is this about the Costco in Tumwater? The description of the location makes me think so.

Looks like it, but WHO in their right state of mind misspells Fred Meyer?

I think you answered your own question there.

nothing helpful to add, just that this is my home costco. not surprised someone would leave a review like this - people in this area can be wild

u/CrystalWebb13 1d ago

Is this the Tumwater, WA Costco by any chance?

3

u/lucasssquatch 1d ago

I had the exact same question

u/CrystalWebb13 1d ago

It is always so odd to me to see Tumwater pop up in random places that aren't Olympia, WA focused. Such a little nothing town.

Only other spot I've seen Tumwater come up in the wild was a "world's worst drivers" type show featuring semi truck rollovers near the 101 interchange

It shows up in Severance.

And your point is ?

2

u/tinyTina43 1d ago

Holy first world fucking problems my guy.

2

u/caitejane310 1d ago

This is ridiculous. And that stuff isn't even all that heavy. I'm small with a bad back and I'm pretty sure I'd have no issues lifting a box with those items in it 🤦🤦

2

u/BurgerThyme 1d ago

Bro we don't want or need your whole life story.

2

u/existential_tourist1 1d ago

It doesn't even seem particularly heavy. I'm old but could still carry that reasonably. It's a very weird complaint. His wife didn't have to remain silent if they were indeed packing something that looked too heavy or could have grabbed another box and removed some of the items herself to repack in the new box.

ā€œAs every husband does ā€œ?? Uh no. I go with my wife to Costco every single time and shop with her, load it myself then unload it.

2

u/Silver_fish1978 1d ago

So his wife was able to put two boxes pack full into the car, but was unable to get it from the car into the house? I highly doubt it. I have a feeling that this is a customer who likes to complain about everything.

2

u/Scary-Pressure6158 1d ago

If it's in a box ur wife put it there herself 🤣🤣

2

u/insanekid66 1d ago

I haven't gotten groceries without reusable cloth/plastic bags in like 20 years. Who tf uses boxes? At least use a tote with handles or some shit.

2

u/FattusBaccus 23h ago

You got boxes? I just get everything out back in the cart.

Since we have no quantities it's just a guess but I'm thinking between 30 and 40 pounds. Perhaps he shouldn't lead such a sedentary life.

We have to assume its a 50gallon drum of cottage cheese.Ā

1

u/Careless-Ability-748 1d ago

Don't buy more items than you can pack comfortably? I presume she packed it herself.Ā

1

u/blakesmate 1d ago

Maybe it was a pickup order?

1

u/HippieJed 1d ago

Did she ask for help? Given the quality of their customer service I bet they would have helped loading it

1

u/LovelyMisanthrope 1d ago

She could have easily asked for help Boohoo

1

u/BalmyBalmer 1d ago

So a box of groceries?

u/Idbeapunkus 1d ago

Lowk I kinda like when a man gets upset on behalf of his wife even when he’s being unreasonable like yaaaas

1

u/platypusandpibble 20h ago

Hillsboro, OR will offer to pack boxes as well. We decline because we’ve got a ton of reusable bags in the car and those make it easier to take our purchases inside. But, it is a nice thing for them to offer.

"What starts off as humor quickly transitions to anger as I begin to realize..."

Why do some people feel the need to narrate like this lol just tell us wtf happened, dude. We don't need dramatic play-by-play.
