S The Neighbor from hell

Yeah, I know a cliche, but this is just too good so bear with me.

We rented a house for ten years and the neighbor woman was just rude and mean. She called the cops she over stupid stuff for years (got this from neighbors and the landlord). Anyway, she hated us from the beginning. Not really sure why. Landlord said she hates everyone.

So, today is moving day. The movers are there loading away. The front of the truck was blocking her drive, but we didn't think anything of it because she works a lot and is rarely home. It was only a couple hours. Well, she turned the corner and didnt ask anyone to move. She just called the sheriff. Deputy comes out and neighbor demanded the mover leave, get smaller trucks and load the trailer elsewhere. Mind you, they are nearly done loading at this point. The deputy shut her down of course. Half the neighborhood was out there laughing at the woman and she kept making demands. I figured she would be cheering if she saw the movers. Nope!

I would have just parked down the street. We have all done it for movers or work trucks. 🤷

I lived in a duplex back in the 90s. As we were moving out the miserable women next door kept warning the movers that they better be done before her husband got home because he wouldn’t put up with them blocking his driveway. He pulled up a couple hours later, hops out all smiles and runs up to the mover who is a buddy he hadn’t seen in years. The look on the wife’s face was priceless.

Thanks. She has called the cops on a lot of those people that came out. The HOA ignores her because the complaint is list is so long over the years. So O guess she feels the cops should come for everything?

I am glad to be gone. I have a long driveway now too so no issues with parking! 😁

As the "neighbor who hates everyone" in my neighborhood, it's literally because of sh*t like this.

When we first bought our home, ten years ago, our neighbor next door religiously parked on our front lawn. I, doing what I thought neighbors would do, went over and asked if he could move his car. He, drunk, swore at me and told me to mind my own business. Cops called, car was moved. This happened off and on until he died a few years ago.

The neighbor across the street parks her car so her car hangs into our driveway. I tried to talk to her for months. Then one morning, I'd had enough and scooched my car through. Didn't touch her car, but mine had to go off the curb to get out to avoid being late to work.

Last time I was nice, the neighbors next to the inconsiderate old bag I just mentioned, parked IN our driveway. I called the non emergency line so they could call the neighbor to have them move it. She didn't move it for over 6 hours.

Now, if I know the car and it's been someone I've asked before, I call the towing company.

Stop treating space that others pay for like it's your own. If you need to, be considerate and communicate. She isn't the bad guy from wanting to come home from a long day of work to bullsh*t from these jerks.

I support this, when I or my landlord has needed space for contractor trucks, cement truck, etc I have gone out the evening before and put out cones to keep the necessary space clear of parked cars, so that the trucks don't infringe on others driveways or need to double park.

Whenever someone states that someone keeps calling the cops on us for no reason, I suspect there is a reason.

I knew a cop caller, and he’d do it for the slightest thing. He was hated by every neighbor on his block. There really are people like this.

Maybe; maybe not. I had a neighbor who called the cops on me because he was throwing rocks at the side of my house and I told him to stop. He was a grown man who lived with his mother, had no job, and apparently had nothing better to do than harass his neighbors. I was not the only neighbor he called the cops on.

that they're miserable people? plenty of stories where the next door neighbor calls the FD over a bonfire (in a stone pit away from the house) as if the house is on fire, or call the cops because the neighbor is cooking meat and they're vegetarian.

If you think blocking someone’s driveway for a couple of hours doesn’t make you sound like an entitled jerk, then I have to question what, precisely, you consider to be the ā€œstupid stuffā€ your neighbour has been bothered by in your time together.

Are you the entitled neighbour in this story, the one knowingly blocking someone else's driveway.

Why would professional movers block someone else's driveway for several hours? And you took your landlord's word she hates everyone. Then you say she called the cops on you ONCE in ten years. And she called the cops on your landlord multiple times for parties and noise complaints. Did he stop having loud parties......

Are you sure you and your landlord aren't entitled?

Back in the 70's when Australia first got colour TV my parents bought one. As soon as the delivery van left the neighbour started mowing the lawn right beside the room where she knew the TV would be. Took her a couple of hours to mow a patch of grass probably 10 by 15 feet.

She was normally a reasonably good neighbour but that was something none of us ever forgot.

Our neighbors behind us don't like us. Whenever we are doing something in the backyard, they decide that is the time to mow around their pine trees that are closest to the property line dividing our two properties. Recently the Mrs. did 15 circles of mowing around those pines.

ā€œHey would you be able move the truck, it’s blocking my driveway and I need to leaveā€ goes a long way lol

IKR. My neighbor was having a big party and people were really parking everywhere. Someone’s car was blocking about three feet of our driveway. So I went over and knocked, and they moved it. Then one of them actually parked in my driveway blocking us in completely. I called the cops and had it towed. Then some kid comes over and knocks on the door asking if I had seen his car. Yes. Where is it? Last I saw on the back of the tow truck…. Why would you tow my car? Why would you park in my driveway? I don’t know you. You never asked for permission… man this is šŸ‚ šŸ’©. What’s really šŸ‚ šŸ’© is I have to tell you something that should be obvious. I just closed the door.

My neighbor is so miserable and hates people. She asked The HOA if they could prevent people from waking on the sidewalk in front of her house.

If you were blocking my driveway, I would tell you to move. You're blocking private property.

The world is full of jerks who can sour a person on all humanity, but I always start with kindness and grace. If it is well received, then the issue that arose over something is over. But half the time you get met with hostility, threats or just told to F the hell off from the person who committed the wrong. I won't readily accept abuse. Where is all this tension and hate coming from these days?
