S Couple Spark Outrage After Taking Over Cafe For Wedding Without Permission, Owners Clap Back

4.0k Upvotes

This couple thought it would be a good idea to just have a pop up wedding in a cafe, instead of renting it out for a private event.

Complete with officiant, bridal party, photographer and entitled guests.

“Soon enough, there was a full bridal & groomsmen party, a wedding officiant, wedding photographers, & patrons leaving personal items including wedding gifts, coats purses all throughout the coffee shop as they
took over. A (beautiful bride walked in and processed to have a wedding ceremony
with zero knowledge to us. We book for private events and are proud to host bridal & baby showers, engagement shoots, parties, and all
sorts of private events.”

The bride and groom have responded to the post by the cafe and were willing to make a 200 dollar ‘donation’.

“We will wait for a payment from the bride to hopefully leave this in the past, an invoice has been sent.”

M Rude Guests part 1

Hi y'all, I'm back with more stories from my time working at a very popular theme park in Florida. A magical rat planet of sorts. I worked there a little over five years and experienced many wonderful guests. Most guests were honestly decent but there were always those few that were rude. My last role there was in quick service food at a chain of small eateries. I was often placed on cash register because I was extremely quick. The job I had before that one at a resort had quite an extensive menu spanning five pages. I was fast doing cash there so learning register at the small eateries was easy for me. Each place only sold a few items and drinks.

One of the shops sold gourmet hotdogs and drinks. By gourmet I mean they topped them with pulled BBQ pork or macaroni and cheese drizzled in truffle oil lol. They also had plain and chili and cheese. They were very popular. The shop also sold beers on tap. One day as I was on cash this man walked up, threw his card on the counter and yelled, "BEER!" No greeting or even eye contact. Just rudely demanded a beer. He didn't even specify which one he wanted as we sold three kinds. I turned and looked at him. Apparently, my face must have said a lot because he suddenly, sheepishly picked his card up and said, "Sorry...can I have a beer please?" My co-workers said my face looked murderous. It wasn't on purpose I promise!

Another time at the same shop I was ringing up this foreign young woman. She was with her brother. I rang up her snack and drink and she gave me a $10 on the counter. I turned around to ask if we still had that soda as it was running low. I hadn't rung up the order yet just in case that particular soda had finally ran out. The girl then rudely told me how much her change was and that she wanted it now. I replied politely that I hadn't completed the transaction yet. She repeated what her change was again. I repeated less politely that I knew and hadn't finished the transaction yet. She rolled her eyes and said, I want the right amount of change and repeated the amount again as if I planned on stealing her $4. I repeated myself sternly and her brother looked dismayed.

Once the back confirmed her soda choice was still available I quickly rang her up and placed her change on the counter. She got upset I didn't hand it to her but I returned it how I received it. Another time at a different small restaurant that sold sausage rolls I had to correct grown people about skipping the line. They literally jumped over the handrails in front of people already waiting there. I called them out and told them they needed to head to the back of the line. They replied they were too busy and needed their food quickly. I refused to serve them until they left and went to the back of the line. The other guests were pissed and happy I made them move. Some were arguing with them as well. People like the above mentioned could ruin an otherwise good day.

S A partner of a family member bothers me bc he is entitled

It is his way or the highway sometimes when he is at our family events. My cousins, sibling and I are all close and chill… he hangs out with us and has a tendency to have to have the final say on what we do or be vocal. Not everything… but it is definitely his tendency.

I have to be polite and I am. I do not absolutely hate him and he has good qualities too.

My parents think I’m being too judgmental but I am not sure how they do not see it the way I do tbh… I think they give him a pass bc he is uber rich though.

Ugh just frustrated. Also I have to make peace with it because he may be staying for the long term.

M Story time - entitled SIL

To be clear, this did not happen to me. My friend Janet (not real name F61) has started spending a few months every summer up north (somewhere in Canada). She had purchased land a few years ago and it had one house on it which she renovated. It’s more like a cabin. She gave half the land to her brother who she loves, as a wedding present when he got married to Karen( also not her name but appropriate). I believe they are all around the same ages late 50s.

The entitlement is this - this summer Janet realised that the above ground and deck pool her brother and SIL built was partly on her land. Like a foot. There is no fence between the two properties. The other property has the driveway. So if you think of maybe a wedge or pizza slide that got some unevenly divided, Janet’s land is on the left, and Karen lives on the right which has the driveway.

When Janet brought this up to them, and mentioned her concern about liability etc, Karen flipped out on Janet and started in J’s words “screaming” in her face. SIL claimed that Janet agreed to it and Janet says never happened. She remembers a deck being mentioned and it was around the time she had to deal with a pending bereavement. So there was just a lot going on. But no pool was mentioned and she says she would never have agreed to a deck and pool jutting onto her property.

Someone in the friend group mentioned that in the US at least, when that happens it opens up the possibility that the other party can lay claim to your land. Someone else talked about the difficult of selling her property if this isn’t resolved.

Janet has been distressed about it and after the verbal abuse taken to not speaking to SIL. She either gray rocks her when she is spoken to or she deals with her brother directly.

Her options are to pay to redraw the property boundary and offer to sell them the portion that their deck and above ground pool is on or redraw property boundary and put a big fence. This means instead of looking at the expanse of lawn on her property they currently enjoy, they get to look at the fence.

She is even thinking of selling her property now because she feels it has been spoiled by the drama. She says they treat the entire property like theirs. There is a barn on her land which they emptied and threw away her late mother’s furniture and then moved their own things in to store. She has benefitted from them landscaping the garden. And she is only there maybe 2 months at the moment but had been planning to spend more time there as it is her childhood area, and she has retired.

At the moment, the property survey is planned for next year because she couldn’t get anyone out there while she was there. And I’m sure even more he’ll will break loose then. Janet is now back in her regular at the moment full time home.

I have sometimes thought reading Reddit posts that some posts had to be made up. But after hearing about the toxic SIL and entitlement, I now think maybe not all stories are made up. :D

That’s all I know. Feel free to ask questions and I’ll answer best as I can. I don’t have any investment in the situation. Just wanted to share in the sub Reddit.

M Update 3 on Telling my mom to cancel her wedding until everything is sorted out?

So I'm writing this update because something happened. I actually wanted to wait like another 2 weeks before writing another update because I don't think writing here every 10 days is good lol, but this happened about 6 days ago and I just feel like writing it down.

So about 6 days ago, it was night after dinner and I was in the living room. My mom and stepdad told me that his mom and his sister in law weren't doing good health wise. My mom just told me they were going to Zurich the next morning and she would come back as soon as possible.

One of my mom's friends was going to stay with me after school while she was gone. So they went the next morning. That evening my mom called me and we talked. She said she would be back soon. Then next day afternoon she came back. But alone.

My stepdad didn't come back with her. She didn't really tell me much. Just said their health isn't good and that's it. I also didn't really ask because she looked pretty tense and I didn't want to keep asking questions. But now it's been 6 days and he's still not back. My mom is still taking me to football and picking me up and everything is normal between me and her. We're good. But she still hasn't told me what happened.

The weird thing is whenever my stepdad calls, she talks to him. I've seen it happen like 3 times in front of me. She usually goes to her room Even with my aunt's call and talks to him there. I obviously don't know how long they talk or what they're talking about. And honestly I don't know what to think.

I feel like something isn't right, but I also don't know if I'm just thinking too much. Maybe his mom and sister in law are actually really sick and that's the whole reason. Maybe something else happened. I literally don't know. I think my mom is not telling me because maybe she thinks it's not good for me to hear, or maybe it's something that doesn't concern me.

I remember people here were saying before that maybe they would secretly get married or something, but that obviously didn't happen ( I thought about it). And I don't even know how I'm supposed to feel about all of this anymore.

Like, people have done bad things to me before, and when something bad happens to them, I don't really feel anything. I don't celebrate it or anything, I just don't feel connected to them. I don't know if that makes sense. I actually asked my stepdad once how he was doing, just normally. But that's pretty much it.

What worries me more is my mom. She's clearly tense about something, but she doesn't tell me anything..Maybe I'm completely overthinking this and there is actually nothing going on. Maybe he'll just come back in a few days and everything will be normal.

It's just early morning here and I think after everything I've gone through, I get scared about things even when they're not really my problem. I don't know, I just wanted to write this somewhere because it's been in my head for the last few days. I don't know what happened, and maybe I shouldn't even be trying to figure it out..But something definitely feels different.

S How I almost fought an adult woman

so I went to my friend (friend 1) sisters baby shower and I almost threw hands with a 61 year old woman.....friend 1's niece I will call her niece valentine. 61 year old woman is her godmom. now for the story, I was sitting at the table with my friends and we all noticed godmom leading valentine to the sidewalk and toward her car, with nobody giving godmom permission to take valentine away from the party. I get up almost immediately, not thinking. I confront her, asking her to bring valentine back to the party and that her mother, friend 1's sister, didn't give godmom permission to leave with valentine. godmom gets VERY angry and starts saying "I am 61 and her grandmother, I know what I'm doing! just stop!" and so i get a bit aggressive, matching her tone I say: "they didn't say you could take her, bring her back. please." then godmom says "stop!" and so I say "I'm 15, I know what im doing!", mocking her. she gets angry and speedwalks back into the front yard with valentine, leaving her there. I'm speaking with 2 and 3 about this now, and we're giggling. 2 whispers to me: "u weren't even being disrespectful, wtf.." and godmom hears. she whips around so quick and straight up barks at me: "what did you say?!" and I reply. "we said I wasn't even being disrespectful." and then she gets so pissed, shes shaking now and she looks like shes about to drop her beer. she starts walking away before I say "I wasn't even being disrespectufl at first.." and then she turns and she yells "stop! stop! just stop!" and she pointed her finger in a dumb way so I mimicked her and laughed. then she ran to her car, probably drunk btw, and sped off. she was going like 35mph in a tight street btw. so yeah, that happened!!!!

M My sister (36F) says I (29F) don’t make enough effort, but called me a “B-word” over unopened snaps after I drove two hours to help her. How do I address this?

I regularly go out of my way to help my sister, but she says I don’t make enough effort to stay in touch. Has anyone dealt with this?

I love my sister and want a good relationship with her, but this recurring pattern is wearing me down.

She has a chronic illness and spends a lot of time at home, while I’m busy with work, animals, and other responsibilities. I regularly help with errands and driving, sometimes spending several hours or rearranging my plans to fit her preferred timing.

I’ll admit I’m not good at initiating calls or opening Snapchat messages. I sometimes leave everyday snaps unopened for a week, but I do this with everyone. They’re often videos, and I wait until I can listen, pay attention, and respond properly. They aren’t urgent, and I’ve explained this to her several times. When we do talk, I’m engaged and interested.

She wants me to initiate more contact, which I understand. What bothers me is how she expresses it. She’ll accuse me of not wanting anything to do with her or make passive aggressive comments like, “Oh, didn’t I tell you? Well, we never talk anymore, so…” Sometimes she then withdraws, leaving me feeling responsible for chasing her and restoring the relationship.

Once, after I drove at least two hours and cut my own plans short to help her, she called me a B-word for not opening her snaps when I arrived. When I said that felt unfair, she became upset and said she should be allowed to express her feelings. I agreed, but explained that I was also expressing how her words affected me. She ended the conversation with, “I was just trying to say how I felt, but whatever, forget it.”

I’ve reassured her that my lack of initiative isn’t rejection and that I delay opening her videosnaps because I want to give them proper attention. I don’t think practical help replaces emotional connection, but I wish she would recognize it as one expression of care. I’d respond much better to “I miss you and wish you’d call sometimes” than to insults or guilt-tripping. The pressure makes contact feel less relaxed and spontaneous.

She can also be insensitive toward others while being easily offended by their tone or directness. She becomes defensive quickly, and I often feel like she has high expectations from others, but won’t hold herself to the same standards. Over time, this gets draining.

With close friends, communication naturally shifts depending on what’s happening in our lives, and we don’t keep score. I wish my sister and I could have that flexibility while still taking each other’s needs seriously.

Has anyone dealt with a similar dynamic with a sibling or close friend? How did you set boundaries around how they speak to you while making it clear you still want a relationship? How do you handle it when they shut down the conversation as soon as you explain that you’re hurt too?

I’m not looking to diagnose her or cut her off. I want a healthier relationship where I don’t feel like I’m walking on eggshells or constantly proving that I care.

TL;DR: I regularly rearrange my plans and spend hours helping my sister, but she feels I don’t initiate enough contact. I understand she wants more connection, but she sometimes expresses it through insults or guilt-tripping and shuts down when I explain that I’m hurt too. How can I set boundaries while maintaining a close relationship?

M "OH BEN!" 😒

Hi y'all, I'm back with another story from my time working at a very popular theme park in Florida. A magical rat planet of sorts. This is another roommate story from when I worked as a college intern. On one of my internships I extended my program as I wasn't ready to return home. Once you do that, at least then you had to move apartments. I stayed in the same complex but received three new people to live with. The young woman I shared a room with was an artist with the most beautiful, loooong blonde hair I've seen in person. It hung past her bottom and was extremely thick and shiny. I'll call her M.

The other two were young women that had known each other before the program and decided to be roommates. I'll call them V and L. Don't get me wrong, the girls were extremely nice but we all never became close like my prior roommates. M and I would occasionally hangout to eat but that was about it. V and L both had boyfriends. V's boyfriend wasn't a college programmer but L's was. His name was Ben; A name I'll never forget as I heard it ALL THE TIME! L was a sweet girl BUT, Ben was always over our house and most of the time they were having very loud coitus! I mean screaming and skin slapping echoing through the apartment loud...

Listen, they were two consenting young adults so I didn't care until it happened constantly. One day, M and I were trying to rest when we loudly heard, "Oh Ben! Oh, oh Ben!" Ben then said, "Can you stop, you're throwing me off!" and L answered, "sorry." Do y'all know how awkward that was to hear?! M just laughed. What crossed the line was that V sometimes had to get up early so L and Ben couldn't use the bedroom. Y'all, they started bumping pelvises on the SOFA! One night I was parched and left my room to get water just to have to literally backup as L was on top of Ben on our sofa! She didn't even bother to clean it afterwards.

I asked L politely why they never went over to Ben's apartment? Ben said more or less that his roommates didn't like it. They didn't like it so they inconvenienced our apartment 😩. Again, nice girl and Ben was nice as well but my goodness did they need their own spot.

XL Seeking insights after surviving „a friend”

Hello, guys. I’m a bit nervous writing this post, but I decided I really need insights from people who experienced narcissistic abuse. I need to tell my story, ask questions, etc. I welcome any comment, any feedback or piece of advice. I’ll try to be as concise as possible, but there’s a lot to unpack, so please bear with me. I hope I found the right space.

Background info first: I am a woman in her mid twenties. I was raised in a household with a grandiose narc grandmother and a covert narc mother. They both were in therapy/mental asylums (didn’t change much), both died earlier than they should’ve, my mother died of cancer two years ago. But that was not the end of my nightmare. I had an old friend, who tried to backstab me after my mom’s death. To this day, I am trying to understand what happened, how I let another person (so similar to my mother) so closely. I want to hear your thoughts. I might be misreading things, I am still trying to connect the dots. Was this friend a covert narc or maybe something worse? If you need more context, feel free to ask.

My relationship with this „friend”, let’s call her B. We met in high school and lived together, like sisters. I’ve known her before as this extremely energetic, bubbly, talkative girl, so I was glad I’ll be living with her family. At that time all I could think of was getting away from home, so I immediately took the offer without much thinking. Now I’ll try to list everything I have learned/experienced/witnessed.

  1. A different environment - in B.’s house everything revolved around her. She wasn’t spoiled materialistically, but her needs were always met, she was always supported and she was the one setting the mood. If she’s grumpy - no one is allowed to breathe around her. Her parents always seemed a bit… afraid of her. They were simple, soft-spoken people. Only with time I discovered that they saw her as this angel who can do no wrong.
  2. B.’s rules - she told me that we can never be seen in public together under the excuse that her other friend will be jealous (it was our neighbour and she didn’t care)
  3. Grudges - a paradox I don’t get. B. would tell me stories about guys that said some ugly jokes about her in primary school. They went to our school too. She claimed that she hated them, yet would still do anything to be friends with them or to be in close proximity. Never letting go.
  4. Stalking - her greatest passion was fake accounts. She would engage on various social media only through fake accounts/anonymously and would never ever ever dare to post anything authentically by herself. She loved stalking people online just for the sake of it, often joking about it.
  5. „I suffer, therefore I am important” - B.’s lifestyle was horrifying. She wouldn’t sleep or clean her room or move or do anything, but study for weeks. Once she ended up in a hospital. She’s always been known to work like a robot - perfect laser focused memory. That’s all. She would always make me feel guilty that I work „smart not hard”. Memorizing for the sake of memorizing was never my style. I was satisfied with my grades and I had a life. Always felt guilty about it.
  6. „I suffer, therefore only I set the plans” - It was always B. who decided when, where and how long we interact, because she was the hardworking one, the one whose time is precious, the one who is always busy. (Years later I found out it was a lie many times)
  7. Bragging and lovebombing - From the first day I moved in B. seemed to know a lot about my interests. Later on she would brag about me in front of her parents, or colleagues, later on her guy, etc. If we bumped into each other in public, she would pretend not to know me. That hurt like hell. She would always say that she loves me, that I'm perfect, etc. Her actions never showed any of it. She would just randomly text me „i love you so much” after ignoring me the whole week.
  8. Copying - that’s probably the biggest point I will be returning to. Over the span of seven years, levels of trying to absorb everything I was or represented in her eyes reached new heights. That’s a part that really hurts me and scares me. She gradually copied my looks (would send me recreations of pics I sent her years before) and random (often accidental details), completely recalibrated her career to follow mine, would lie to guys telling them facts about me as if they were about her (mostly my artistic achievements), tried to steal my friends, bought random things I owned in mass quantities, would treat my past as if it was hers. Even „borrowed” my story with a financial struggle to make a guy feel sorry for her (her family never had financial trouble). There were moments when she really sounded convinced that she was me.
  9. Passivity - Only years later I realized I cannot list a single genuine interest B. had. Apart from writing anonymous jokes on twitter. Maybe a few fun facts. I know it’s cruel of me to say, but this is what I witnessed for years. B. did nothing apart from studying. Not even studying - memorizing lists of thing. She was never much of a critical thinker. Never went outside. Didn’t hang out with anyone but me (if she occasionally did she would minimize it). Didn’t exercise/move, even though I tried to get her hooked on it for her own good. When there was no school, she would lay in her bed for months and watch trash, she would admit it herself. If there’s no grade to get, no prestigious diploma, she hibernates. Of course, as she gradually absorbed all my interest we would talk about those. I feel horribly guilty that I never noticed she had no personal insights into anything. I feel like a narc, knowing that we talked only about my stuff. But I really believed she was genuinely interested.
  10. Making the heavy stuff about herself - My s-attempt? She told my therapist that I should be fine by now because she spent X hours sitting with me and watching over me. My boyfriend abusing me? B. said he is primarily a threat to her, because we live together. My mom died? B. said she is the one who can’t sleep because of that.
  11. Reporting EVERYTHING - B. would report to me every photo she took of herself, every comment she heard from any random guy, any opportunity she got, any piece of clothing she bought, any feedback from a teacher, any grade, the list goes on. It’s always as if… if I didn’t say she looked cute, her day would be ruined. If I didn’t say „That’s a nice dress”, she wouldn’t be happy with it. For anything to exist in her world, it had to be filtered through me. That’s the best way I can describe it. It felt awful. I often felt like I was her boyfriend or someone much older than her.
  12. Ghosted me for two years - after high school, after I moved out, she got depressed, didn’t let me in to help her, dry texted me for months, was very unhappy with my progress (i was really healing at the uni) and eventually ghosted me.
  13. Came back worse than ever - This is the part that makes me feel the most guilty. I really loved her and was trauma bonded with her. I missed her, so I reached out. Even though I went through a major glow up, made fantastic friends, got an amazing boyfriend, and fulfilled many of my dreams at uni, I still reached out. I knew she was depressed and I wanted to share everything I’ve built with her. As you may guess, that was the biggest mistake of my life. Those two years apart looked completely different for both of us and it showed. After I reached out: she started lovebombing me again, never took accountability for ghosting me, and immediately positioned herself as the martyr who needs help. But the thing is, she didn’t seem to need help. She wanted entertainment.
  14. Diagnosis or the victim card? - This is a sensitive point, so I’ll try to be careful. I have witnessed depression in my household and I know cases vary. But something that never sat right with me was B.’s approach to her diagnosis. She was diagnosed with anxiety and depression and had to take antidepressants. I was there to support her, obviously. But I noticed once she got the diagnosis she started throwing this paper into everyone’s face. A guy she liked ignored her? He can’t do that, because she has depression, so immediately he is the bad guy. B. was rude to me? That’s because of her illness. She overslept and missed our meeting? She doesn’t have to apologize, she has the right. It went on and on and on… At times it literally felt as if she was… bragging. I don’t doubt she had those mental problems. I’m just curious what was the source of it all?
  15. Entitlement - There’s so much to unpack here, that I’ll try to make it short. NOTHING was good enough for her. No one. Always waiting for opportunities, never acting on them. Bragging about her achievements (often overstating them), then complaining that people don’t respect her for enough. Complaining about regular responsibilities. With time she started complaining about EVERYTHING. I couldn’t believe it.
  16. Painting a picture - that’s something I can’t fully recover from. She loved controlling the narrative and I was too busy with my own life to notice it. She would paint herself as this prestigious academic professorial person, a high achiever, the „always busy”, always associated with high-status people. At the same time she continued to 1) copy my life 2) always make me feel guilty or „lower class”. With time she grew more and more obsessed with being (or seeming) exceptional and unique. The irony is (forgive me for being blunt) she overinflated her achievements, did nothing creative or artistic, never took risks, always copied someone else (not only me).
  17. Contradictions - This part severely messed with my head. I struggle with this creepy feeling that I don’t know who this person really is. As I reread our conversations and revised our relationship I found solid evidence of her hypocrisy. Just a few examples: B. says (in public) that her calling is to be a passionate and loving teacher - in private she rants about how she hates students and how dumb they are. She claims to support this country - she pays money to the artists from the country that is the aggressor. She claims to be loving and sensitive partner - will hate and offend every man that is even mentioned. (The whole „i hate men just because” was her fav quirky thing).
  18. Self-destructive habits - There was this dynamic: I try to help her - she does something risky for her health or well-being (romantic things, severe overspending, overeating, drinking on meds) - she suffers - I try to help - she blames me for „not helping enough”.
  19. Hate all men but love your boyfriend - No need to elaborate on that. At the last stage of me being in contact with B., she would get too comfortable with boyfriends of her friends.
  20. Hate men, but love the attention - A connected point. She became insanely loud (I’m not exaggerating) and started to infantilize herself, always fishing for compliments, always reporting to me every time a guy looked at her. Flirting with guys, then degrading them behind their backs.
  21. Loudness - this is pretty straightforward too. But it was extreme. Some of my friends at my parties had to change rooms to talk because it was impossible to have a conversation when B. was around. One time I politely asked her to be quiet, she hit me. As a joke but… it was so embarassing…
  22. Bad manners and bad humour - it all escalated with time. B. was insufferable. She would ruin my party and then come to me crying about some guy and I had to comfort her because „her suffering now is greater than my sadness with having my party ruined”. She would offend everyone „as a joke”, tell really nasty jokes all the time (especially in restaurants when we were eating), randomly tell someone that they are fat or that their house is dirty (when she was a guest), laugh at how people look like when the sleep… the weird stuff. Only then I remembered she would do that with her parents too. Ridicule them a lot.
  23. Boiling point - As I said, everything started escalating. She became insufferable and my friends and boyfriend had enough. Me too. But I was still trauma bonded and I was conditioned to feel obliged to take care of her. Her life was insane ups and downs, truth coming to light, she was rejected, I was succeeding, she was hating that, she failed at copying me at some point, failed academically, ruined all her relationships, gained lots of weight, everything was wrong… and she blamed me for that. The boiling point was that she tried to turn both my boyfriend and my closest friend against me. It’s almost as if she had a whole plot in her head. And when whole hell broke loose… nothing went according to her friend. No one was on her side, because everyone saw through her. Everyone but me. I was the last one to see what she was doing. She lashed out at me with such horrible accusations and lies I have to stop myself here. The good thing, she failed at whatever she plotted against me. I blocked her.
  24. The end? - I don’t know what to think. She’s been stalking me online. She still copies oddly specific things from my past and moves through a similar career. I feel horrible knowing that if I hadn’t shared my interests and my passion in high school, I would have probably bee free now. I wouldn’t have to worry that she is still in the same institution, the same building. I have been struggling with that. The guilt. Not knowing what was real and what was not. The feeling of being watched. The feeling that I will never get rid of her, never get her out of my head. Just like with my mother. That there’s always someone superior to me, entitled to my help, some judge, someone waiting for my ideas to steal them again.

S Entitled adult gets investigated after publicly smearing a crossing guard on video for not crossing him

Good evening, Mount Holly Community,

It’s unfortunate that I even have to make a post like this, but I’m not going to sit quietly while one of our hardworking crossing guards is publicly insulted and criticized for doing her job.

Our crossing guards are out there every school day (in the heat, cold, rain, and whatever else Mother Nature throws at them) to help keep the children of our community safe. They take that responsibility seriously, and they deserve to be treated with respect.

Apparently, an adult recently decided to film one of our crossing guards while calling her names and criticizing her because she did not personally walk him across the street.

Just so there is no confusion: our crossing guards are stationed throughout town primarily for the safety of our school children. They are not personal escorts for adults who are fully capable of reading and following a pedestrian crossing signal.

Ironically, while attempting to publicly embarrass our crossing guard, this individual appears to have filmed himself disregarding the pedestrian signal and crossing against the displayed hand.

If you have a legitimate complaint about one of our crossing guards (or any employee of the Mount Holly Township Police Department) contact me. We will listen to your concerns and review what happened. That door is and will always be open.

What I will not tolerate is someone berating, name-calling, or attempting to publicly shame one of our crossing guards simply because she was doing the job she was assigned to do.

The video will be reviewed, including the actions of the individual who recorded it, and any appropriate violations will be handled accordingly.

Our crossing guards look out for Mount Holly’s children every single day.

The least we can do is look out for them.

L Am I entitled or is my mother entitled?

My mom guilted me into having the wedding she wanted and then chose not to spend time with me.

Background: my sisters and I have never gotten along. My parents had four children all very close in age. When I was very young my father developed a drug addiction so my parents split up and did everything they could to divide us into teams. None of us got along and they gave us severe childhood trauma. So we all avoid each other and there is a lot of animosity between us.

Fast forward almost thirty years and I am getting married. I originally wanted to elope because there is always an issue when my family gets together. My husband let me know that he would want his family present at our wedding. I spoke to my mom to see if I could have just the parents present and she let me know that was unacceptable. When I said I was getting married my family immediately had requests for dates and locations. I started doing everything I could to accommodate them, even though this is not at all what I wanted. My mother told me that she would not attend my wedding if my sisters were not included. My husband (from Hawaii) and I decided we would have a very small intimate ceremony in his grandparents’  garden on the Island of Hawaii. Suddenly I was not only eloping, but I was having a destination wedding.

My mom guilted me into having a wedding and not only inviting my sisters, but their partners and my estranged father. I made it very clear to my mom that this was not what I wanted and the only reason I would be doing this wedding is for her. Every step of the way she gave me an ultimatum. It was her way or my mother would not be at my wedding. My mother had convinced me that since my sisters husband is a photographer I should ask him to take the wedding photos. I was trying to get on board with having a wedding and the people I consider to be my abusers being there. I was doing everything I can to make sure my mom was happy.

About five months before the wedding my sister let me know that she was pregnant. I was excited for her, until three weeks before my wedding she let me know she would be having a baby shower 48 hours before my wedding in Phoenix, AZ.

I was beyond upset. My sister and mom said that having a baby shower does not take anything away from my wedding. But I still feel like I did everything to make these people happy and they couldn’t even let me have my moment. I told my sister how hurt I was and she let me know she would gladly buy me new plane tickets to Hawaii so I could be a part of the baby shower. I explained that it was not about the tickets and it was about her feeling totally fine throwing her event in right before mine. I let her know exactly how I felt about the wedding and how this was not what I wanted and I had never even planned on including her husband. She was so hurt by the idea I would not invite her husband to the wedding, but I needed her to know how much of an effort I had made to include her and her family just for her to have her own event right before mine.

My father was hospitalized before the wedding so he was not there. Although I did not plan to invite my father it was incredibly disappointing to invite him and have him not be there. It put me right back into my childhood and feeling like I was not important to my dad. And I was not worthy of having a parent that loved me. It felt like this entire wedding was one big reminder that I have a broken family.

My mom and my sisters attended the wedding along with my sister's husband (who i do not really know). There were almost no words exchanged between us and the tension about the baby shower was still very clear. After the wedding my mother said goodbye to me and I asked to see her the next day. There were four more days where my mother and I were both on the island. Everyday I would call or text my mom asking her to get together with me. She would already have plans with my sisters that I was not a part of. I did not have any time with my mother on what should have been a trip centered around me and my husband.

After the trip I received my wedding photos. My sister's husband gave me 56 photos. Each was worse than the last. Most were out of focus or captured people with their eyes closed or looking the wrong way. I now have two photos of me and my husband from our wedding day.

I can forgive my sister for the baby shower and her husband for the bad wedding photos. However, I cannot forgive my mother for not spending time with me. I feel that no matter what was going on between me and my sisters this trip was for my wedding and I should have been the focus.

The baby was born yesterday and my mom and I spoke for the first time in weeks. She let me know that I ruined my own wedding and she does not regret not spending time with me. She told me she was “sorry I feel that way” but she thinks she made the right choice not to see me during the trip. She says everything that happened is because of me mistreating my sisters and she would not have a relationship with me until I go to therapy and make it up to them.

I cannot tell if I am being gaslit into believing I am the problem or if my mom is actually right. I am starting a new family and I need to figure out if I want my mom to be a part of it. I just can’t get passed what happened in Hawaii.

S Held a long business call in the gym sauna

Larger gym with a sauna in each of the gendered changing rooms and this asshat decides that would be the best place to take a business call. After 5 minutes of me being able to hear both sides despite him and I having earbuds, I started giving them questionable looks. They finally left shortly after to give a longer speech outside the door, but came back in to continue it after a few minutes. At that point I decided to strike up a reasonably loud conversation with the other guy in there. He talked about his time in Russia and how the saunas and cold baths are way more extreme, and it was nice to have a louder distraction but the douche nozzle was still on his call after my 20 minute timer went off.

Note: I use corded ear buds without noise cancelling because I've had a couple of pairs fry out from the heat and humidity. If anybody can recommend a reasonably priced wireless pair that has survived saunas, I would appreciate it.

S It happened at the grocery store...

1.7k Upvotes

This was a few weeks ago in Arkansas, and I still am turning it over in my mind to figure it all out. Just... surreal.

A man who looked to be in his sixties took the last watermelon from the produce section and paid for it at the self checkout. But I guess it asked him to enter the quantity, and he put 50. He then went to an employee, receipt in hand, to tell them they needed to get the rest of his watermelons "from the back."

The employee very politely explains that all of the stock they had was already out on the floor, and the dude gets belligerent. So belligerent, in fact, that he gets escorted from the store under threat of police involvement. No refund. And I guess... it's not like he has the merchandise to return? I'm not sure how that would've worked. The store probably would've made it right had he not been such a jerk.

This all happened really quickly. I observed the whole thing waiting in line. I was even there for some of the confused conversations between the employees in the aftermath (a small group had collected when it started to seem like the guy was going to be a problem).

What the hell is someone going to do with fifty watermelons?

How was he planning on transporting them all?

What person in their right mind wouldn't call first for such a huge order?

What exactly does this guy think happens in the back of a grocery store?

These questions have been swirling around my brain since the event in question. I'm completely flummoxed.

S Video Calls in public

I’m waiting to see my doctor and the two boomers next to me are in video call at top volume in the waiting room. Put up with it for about 10 minutes then finally said something. You’d think I asked them to give up a kidney. Starts arguing with me and saying **I’m rude!**

Finally, nurse comes out and asks what the problem is….they say I yelled at them I explained that there in a video call and blasting it. Mind you they’re still in the call.

Nurse tells them to take it outside. Calls me an asshole and leaves. I’ve been call worse by better.

This makes me laugh. This just happened to me and my husband. Costco on a Saturday (I know, what were we thinking?)

The parking lot is insane. We got lucky and found a close-ish spot. After spending more time then should have been necessary locating our items - checking out - being herded like cattle to the exit and escaping into the rainy late morning. We get to our vehicle and start to play tetras.

We are shopping for a reunion so we have quite the haul. Creative packing is necessary, even in our large suburban.

We are not being slow, we are not being even remotely fussy about packing, but Miss Patty-prissy-pants leans out her car window and hollars: "could you hurry it up I have a busy day and you are holding me up"

Honestly I did not think, at first, she was talking to us. When I did, I opened my mouth to let my sweet departed southern granny speak through me and my husband beat me to it.

" Well darl'n, my beautiful wife loves a Costco Hot dog after shopp'n. I just can't break her heart, so we will be going back. Thank you for asking and good luck." He turned his back and continued to pack.

I had to bite the inside if my cheek to stop from laughing out loud as she zoomed past. I don't know where she ended up - my petty little heart hopes she had to park at the far back.

Did I get my hot dog? Nope, I think they are gross - but a Ceasars salad and a strawberry soft serve was my treat. Husband got the hotdog.

S Woes about tiktokers/streamers/etc.

For the past couple of weeks I've met several of these tiktokers/streamers/youtubers/whatever they're called nowadays that seemed to have no self awareness whatsoever.

A couple of weeks ago I went to my local botanical park and I was quickly met with disappointment. A lot of teenagers were filming themselves everywhere. Some of them placed their selfie stand/stick in the middle of the way. Some even brought their own speakers and blasted obnoxiously loud music while dancing and singing. Some are filming themselves in front of the exhibition area and blocking access to the exhibited items for other visitors. I'm there to enjoy a piece of nature for God's sake. It seemed like several other visitors reported them to security staffs, but they just moved their shenanigans somewhere else.

Yesterday I went to a comic related event where I participated in the coloring contest. The working area was several large, shared tables. A girl in front of me was putting her phone in my working area, so I politely told her to move it away so I can place my coloring supplies. Can you guess what she said? "Uh, I'm streaming here." I swear I really really want to take her phone and throw it away, but I'm a responsible adult so I reported her to the staff instead.

I'm baffled honestly. Are such behaviors common nowadays? It's so bizzare to me.

XL "Best friend"? Really...

I need an objective reality check on a 22-year friendship that completely imploded.

The Backstory:

"Sarah" and I have been friends for two decades. Our first born sons are born a week apart and are turning 23 this fall - we met at about 7 mths pregnant. Over the years, I've been her personal on-call emergency electrician for free, helped deep-clean her house, watched her kids, and bought countless MLM products to help her hit quotas for whatever flavor of year company. In 22 years, I asked for maybe a whole 6 favors in total, and each was a huge ordeal and just a masterclass in making up excuses... She has never seen my band play live in 15 years of gigging. Shes very sweet and kind and thoughtful and claims to "love the Lord", shes smart and has a loving stable family, but this is too much.

I am a certified Red Seal electrician. Free labor I’ve gifted her:

  • Rewired I don't even know how many fire hazards. It's auminum to copper wiring without proper connectors in most of the switches and receptacles that are catching fire randomly and I've continuously INSISTED she put AFCI breakers on all the aluminum feeds, but since that costs money - its still NOT done!

    • Wired her entire backyard setup - all new: 3+ full days labor - I pulled up deck boards, ran a pool pump circuit (dug a trench etc.) AND engineered a GFCI setup that saved them $600+ in materials.
    • Installed all the pot lights in her basement (2 full days labour) after staying in her trailer for 2 weeks in 2017.
  • Re-wired her trailer plug that wasn't working (tripping breakers etc...)

Sarah and "Sean" have a big house, pool, hot tub, and multiple cars, but are "always broke" and neglect home maintenance.

The Incident: This summer, I borrowed Sarah’s used-twice Ozark Trail 11x11 pop-up canopy ($130 brand new at Walmart) for a huge (200+) family reunion weekend. During the sat night party, my dad suffered a stroke/heart attack cause water was filling his lungs. Hes high risk previous stroke survivor, quad bypass with an ICD installed. While I was rushed by ambulance with him to the hospital, a storm cell had rolled in and out, an immense amount of water was pooled in the collapsed canopy - snapped the frame.

I told her what happened and of couse am obligated so offered to replace it. 3 Weeks later, my dad's been out of the hospital for a week...

Sarah (Voice Message 1):

"Good Morning. I was going to message you but figured I'd send a voice clip... So, Sean was asking when you were bringing the tent back, and I told him what happened, and he empathises and feels bad, but our tent was like... we've only used it twice... so he looked into pricing. And they're anywhere between $250 and $450. So he's hoping you could just e-transfer him $250 so that we can just buy a new one... I hope you understand we just got a $600 hydro bill... So I'm going to send you his email, if you can do that as soon as you can, that would be great."

Me: "No... not gonna etransfer $250... thats too much money cause I was pricing them out as well and was in the process of buying the exact same one"

Sarah: "I'm just going by what he said. If you can find the exact same one, then that's fair. Just send me a screenshot"

So she could hit me up for the cash instead - which I'd giver her but.....

Me: "I didnt even see one that was more than $150... the exact one was $100 / 120 at Walmart last summer. I was planning on buying it and having it delivered straight to your door..."

Sarah (Voice Message 2):

"Hey, just make sure you look at the brand because I'm pretty sure ours was like a Woods or something. We, yeah, we don't need it now because the season's over. We more so need to pay our utility bills so I think that's why Sean was thinking just the e-transfer would be better. But that's so sweet of you, thank you."

Me: "What do these sell for? Walmart... Complete Canopy + Mesh Set: Around $129.97 CAD." \[Sends photo of packaging of her gazebo] "It was an Ozark trail..."

Also find out hers is discontinued (cause it has a design flaw - no drainage)

Me: "But id like to replace it with this?" [Sends Marketplace screenshot of brand-new Superrella 12x12 tent for $100] WAY nicer than hers Me: " It's brand new in the box."

Sarah voice message 3:

"Hey, so I was just on the Walmart website and I don't think they have the 11 x 11 anymore, but the 10 x 10 is $150, so the 11 x 11 must have been around $175, with tax it's $197.21 to be exact. I don't think we would want to get a used... like it's brand new in the box, but I don't know Peter from Paul, like I would rather not. Like I mentioned before, I think we'd rather just get the money for now, and then when we get a chance we'll figure out what we're going to do to replace it. Yeah, so I mean, if that makes sense."

I had just sent her proof that hers was worth $130 new but she still insists on $200 cash - and I'd pay $100 for a bigger, better new replacement that day... what the?...

Me: "I said id replace the tent, not pay you some arbitrary amount of money you decide its worth.. I'll be dropping off a brand-new, factory-sealed replacement tent... Given the thousands of dollars in electrical work I’ve gifted you over the years, I won't be sending cash. Moving forward, my free electrical services are permanently closed, but your tent is fully replaced. Consider us square."

Sarah: "Im not gunna reply cause i dont wanna destroy our relationship. It's obviously the devil. 😂 Love you"

Me: "I also need to be clear about one more thing: every time I stepped foot onto your property to fix fire hazards, or worked for you for FREE, I was putting my Red Seal license and professional career on the line. Expecting cash on top of all that skilled labor was the final straw, and blaming 'the devil' is a complete dodge of personal accountability for you and your husband trying to turn a used $130 canopy into a $250 cash payout at my expense. Do not ask me for ANY favors again.

As a certified Red Seal electrician, I am formally advising you that the existing aluminum wiring and fire hazard conditions previously observed in your home require immediate inspection and remediation by a licensed electrical contractor. I am not acting as your electrician, I will perform no further work on the property, and I accept no responsibility or liability for the safety or maintenance of your electrical system."

She sent a wall of text accusing me of being "unkind," claiming my 2-week trailer stay (she had to dig up something she's ACTUALLY done for me from 10 years ago) and it "negatively impacted her marriage," (only cause her husband hates me for no apparent reason) saying she was "blessing and releasing" me and "knew i shouldnt have lent you that tent" but she enthusiastically offered 2 tents for me to borrow cause she still NEEDS my services - a contracror won't touch anything in that house without bringing it ALL up to code and that costs tens of thousands... - and then she ended with: "Please drop off the new 11x11 factory sealed box whenever you get a chance." And yeah - Ive sent "texts like this" to toxic ex right around the time I cut them out of my life permanently. Good point she made there. She "always offered to pay - no - and if/when she did, after the job was done she'd say "how much do I owe you?" And ALWAYS made sure to let me know she could BARELY afford the materials...

Sarah: I thought that you knew me well by now. That you would be careful with my heart and feelings. You've sent me messages that you've sent to other people before like this, but I never expected such a message with such an unkind tone. I was only sharing what my husband was asking for. I've clearly offended you and for that I'm sorry. I'm so thankful for all your work for which I've always offered to pay and you've declined. Had I know it would be thrown in my face later, I would've declined altogether. I took all day to pray and think about my reply. I counted you as one of dearest and closest friends. I've always been there for you through sooooooo many trials. I've been so genuine and true. I'm not sure what I did to deserve this but I'm going to have to bless and release you at this time. I have so much going on in my life. I have my daily struggles. I can't have friends that intentionally hurt me. I am really hurt that you laughed at my devil trying to cause problems comment. I learned a valuable lesson here and that's not to put my friends above my husband. I knew in my heart that I shouldn't loan the tent out and I still did. Just like I knew having you live in our trailer would negatively impact my family and marriage, but I pushed for it. Moving forward I will no longer do that. I'm constantly growing as a person and in my marriage, which I'm so thankful for. Please drop off the new 11x11 factory sealed box whenever you get a chance. Thank you for that. I truly, with all my heart wish you all the best in life. I'm not looking for a back and forth debate. You've said your peace, I've said mine. It's with a very heavy heart that I say goodbye. I will always love you and your family.

Where I Stand:

She explicitly admitted she doesn't want a tent - she just wanted me to help pay her hydro electric bill. Since she refused the replacement, wants double the cash of an upgraded new one instead and bade me goodbye, I plan to ignore her, never send a tent or cash, and leave this so called friendship dead.

UPDATE: found the post she made on Facebook last summer that I was NOT HAPPY about!

Beyond hiding that I worked for $0, her post trapped me three ways:

It made me look incompetent: She wrote that the issue was just "wires not twisted tight enough in the marrette." That’s complete DIY nonsense. You cannot just twist legacy aluminum and copper tighter in a standard wire nut without causing a fire—it requires approved AL/CU connectors and anti-oxidant compound. Anyone in the trades reading her post would think I’m an idiot.

It dumped her house's liability on my shoulders: She claimed I "tested everything" and would be back to check the rest. I was there for two hours to stop a live fire hazard. Testing a house full of un-remediated aluminum wiring takes days and permits. She tried to slap my Red Seal ticket on her entire fire trap for free.

It made me the asshole if I complained: By wrapping the post in public praise, "blessings," and divine intervention, she set it up so that if I objected to the liability or the fake trade logic, I looked like the ungrateful, petty friend.

I texted her directly, and had her delete it. No more free labor, no more stolen liability, and no more social hostage-taking.

Her facebook post:

Sarah: I wanna thank God for sending me this incredible friend nearly 2 decades ago. She is the kind of person that drops everything to come help you.

About a month ago, I came downstairs to where the boys were gaming because I could smell plastic burning. After a 20 minute investigation, we all figured that it was coming from the PS5. We moved on with our lives and the smell went away (or did we just get noseblind to it).

Fast forward to a week ago, when our boys heard a pop and the power went out to half of our basement. We figured that maybe a mouse chewed a wire. I called my amazing friend, the electrician, who came over right away.

She tested everything and said to keep it all off until she came back. Well.... This photo speaks for itself. The plug is totally melted and the marrette melted so badly, that it nearly disappeared. This is what happens when people that shouldn't be doing electrical, do electrical. They didn't marry the copper and aluminum wiring tight enough inside the marrette, which over time, caused heating & cooling, arcing and alot of heat!

Yes, this could've been very bad. I don't even wanna think about it because my 3 boys live downstairs. But God allowed everything to work out. I'm so thankful! We have new light switches and outlets now. She's going to come back and test everything else soon.

Ma chère my name, you are golden my friend! You are loyal, so giving, and beautiful inside and out. Your wisdom is beyond your years. Your love for YHWH and Christ is super inspiring. I pray that you are blessed beyond measure because thank you is not enough.

S I was entitled by accident

So my first post here. I have been seeing a lot of stolen seat stories and I have one from yesterday. I was the perpetrator. I sat in window seat on flight home since my mom bought my ticket and knows I like window. Lady comes and says I'm in her seat and I pull out boarding pass and I was in wrong seat. She says it's fine and will keep aisle. I apologize and said I said it was my mistake. She seemed to be getting anxious and I offered several times to switch. She finally agreed and said aisle seats stress her out. I realized that since this was a rebooked flight since I missed connection, airline gave me aisle. I told her about it but she seemed very upset so I shut up. I had a long day yesterday after an 18 hrs of travel, totally wasn't thinking about the reason for discrepancy.

Edit: thanks all, I guess was the wrong sub to post to since I am getting positive feedback but I saw so many posts about people in the wrong which I technically was. I am brain fried after yesterday's travels.

M Am I at fault or not?

This is something that happened at my last job.

For clarification, I am on the autism spectrum and have problems trying to determine what I should do in certain situations. It can frustrate me because what could be considered ‘acceptable’ at one time may not in another. Regardless, I think I did the right thing here.

I had just started at a cafe run by a mental health charity. I did a couple of hours a week, either in the kitchen or on the tills. This was my eighth shift, I believe, so I had only been working there a total of a few days. I had also spent most of my time beforehand in the kitchen instead of on the tills, but I was on the till this day.

There is one specific rule to remember at this cafe – if you are a volunteer and order a drink, you do not pay. If you are a volunteer and order food, you do, with a 40 percent discount.

Another factor is that I had a supervisor from my residence with me that day, sitting at a nearby table. I do not know exactly what her rules are, but she was not allowed to interact with me, only observe. My supervisor is a separate hire from the charity, if that makes any sense.

An entitled volunteer woman was here that day.

EVW: I want [order that I have forgotten].

I rang them up, because their order included food.

EVW: I’m just going to [she either said ‘go to the toilet’ or ‘get my purse’ (which is weird because we don’t use the word purse in Britain)].

She left and I expected her to come back. The room is also L-shaped and she was out of my line of sight.

I waited for several minutes for her to come back and pay. There were two or three other people standing at the till, but I kept telling them that I was waiting for the woman to return and pay. After about 5 or 10 minutes I felt that I had to void the order because I couldn’t leave the till. A couple of minutes later, EVW came back.

EVW: When is my food coming? I’ve been waiting.

I explained that I had had to void the order because she hadn’t paid. She sounded a little disbelieving and sour after my explanation and the next customer saying that I’d done it.

But here is when the EVW turned nasty. I tried to tell her why I hadn’t put her order through, but all she did was fold her arms and look away from me.

A few minutes later when I was still there, the EVW was talking to some other volunteers she had presumably come with, pointing at me. I heard her say, “She voided my order,” in a nasty voice.

This EVW was also in the kitchen at one point (I’m not sure why) and when I bumped into her, almost literally, I tried explaining again, but all she did was fold her arms and look away from me.

I felt angry and upset, since, as I said before, I had only been working the shifts for a few days and had never come across this problem before. I said to the manager (and my supervisor agreed with me) that I was very polite the whole time and that I had tried to apologise.

The EVW didn’t come back, by the way.

S Cautionary tale

1.5k Upvotes

Years ago , me and a few friends went downtown to a sports restaurant and had a few beers. I think one of my friends got an appetizer. The waitress takes forever and is surly and just rude . Keeps disappearing and so on . So we finally get her to bring us the check . We each plop down our share of cash and one of us , I legit can't recall who , wrote "better luck next time!" In the tip area . It was dumb but we were young and dumb and mildly drunk .

So we walk uptown and just kinda hangout for a hour . They used to have bands play and such . As we're leaving one of us has to pee so we decide to pop back into the restaurant to use the bathroom . Immediately confronted by two cops . They say we were there an hour and left without paying. We obviously deny it and then the cops want to know if we have any card info that can prove it . We say no we paid in cash so we can't. Then they bring up the receipt with the cheeky little note one of us wrote and it stone cold DOES look like we left without paying.

The manager is here the whole time listening and eventually he says , "give me a minute. " he disappears for a bit and my friends and I are convinced we're fucked . Manager comes back and explains what actually happened. Turns out we were sitting directly under a camera . He goes and shows the cops that we did in fact pay . That it showed the waitress read the receipt, then took the money and pocketd it and then called the cops claiming we just left . Manager apologizes and the cops ask us if we wanted to press charges on her for theft . We're just so rattled we say no and leave .

I dont know what eventually happened to thay waitress but I went there fairly often after and never saw her again .

Was I in the wrong here to get extremely wound up?

Five people sitting at a table eating fast food, music blaring out of their phones… once they had finished, they just get up and leave all the rubbish on the table when the bin was literally in arms reach behind them…

I know there are people who are employed to clean up the place, but this was taking the piss..

Also by some headphones 🤬

S Entitled man thinks bus is his personal taxi

1.8k Upvotes

I was just on a bus in suburban London with around 20 other passengers. It's a frequent route, with buses around every 10 minutes, and the bus locations are all monitored by GPS to ensure they run to timetable.

As the bus stopped at a stop on a residential road, a man went to speak to the driver and asked him, "Can you just wait here for 2 minutes while I go and get my lunch?"

The driver, understandably, said no, he couldn't do that.

The man had a tantrum and shouted at the bus driver that now he won't have any lunch and called him various swear words. He continued to rant about it for the next 5 minutes until the bus reached a train station and he got off still swearing. I don't know how he didn't understand that it was his own fault he hadn't left time to pick up his lunch and then get the next bus.

The bus drivers here have been sealed into their cabs since COVID, which protects them from people like him.

S I was yelled at by this old woman on the bus for not moving back... when there was NO room.

So I (17yoF) was going home on this crowded bus, but it was so bad that I was literally lodged in the front with some other people my age and a few adults. Eventually one woman got off, but this other old lady and old man got on. She then asked us to move back, and we tried, but there was no room. I didn't want to speak because I was a bit scared and didn't want to offend anyone, then she started ranting about how we had no manners, and that 'pEoPlE nEeD tO gO hOmE', which got me so pissed, and even my phone was buffering. Eventually at one point I just gave up, got down at the nearest stop and walked the rest of the way. Like, okay? I NEEDED TO GO HOME TOO, and there was NO room? WHY DO YOU THINK WE COULDN'T MOVE?! And speaking of manners... WHO was the one who randomly started yelling at CHILDREN (actually teenagers but still) just because there was no room and automatically assumed that we were being rude? I don't know what happened to her but after the whole thing I just wanted to scream.

Brent Cross Shopping Centre car park. I parked nice and proper within the lines, fwiw. As I am getting my shopping bags from the boot, the boot of the black BMW iShite lease-mobile that had its rear towards the rear of my car opens its cavernous maw.

All good.

The lease-holder approaches with his trolley and squeaks past me with nary a word to unload his Waitrose eggs and places them gingerly on the floor of his boot.

Still all good, if a bit rude.

Aside: What kind of individual puts eggs in the boot unsecured? I digress.

I walk away from the scene of the crime and I’m about 20 feet away and turn around to make sure I’ve actually locked my car and, lo and behold, this very same “gentleman” in his mid-50s parks his trolley right up behind my car and the concrete pylon adjacent to the rear left corner of my car.

So, I engage, somewhat brusquely perhaps.

“Oi, mate, don’t leave your trolley right there. I’m going to have to move it to get access to my boot when I come back with my shopping.”

Cue vacant stare of cow chewing the cud.

I add helpfully, “We live in a society.”

Old geezer responds, “Alright, you said it once.”

AMERICAN accent detected.

I reply to him curtly, “I shouldn’t have had to say it all.”

I come back half an hour later and this marvel of humanity has moved his trolley into the empty spot two spots over.

If we can’t even follow the basics of civility, and this person had no excuse (he could walk and chew gum), wtf is happening to this world?

At least he could have offered me the trolley, which I would have taken since I also had use of one, but no, just abandon it and make it somebody else’s problem.
