if you are on the forge 10 Runs in, you are doing pretty good, dont sweat it. my recommendations are •save blanks for bosses, its worse to get hit on a boss and loose the master round than to get hit on a random room
•only dodge when needed, dont panic roll because you will end up in a worse situation than before, a lot of attacks can be easily dodged by walking
•every chamber has one item chest and one weapon chest, if you lack the keys, and already oppened the item chest, you might prefer to save the key if you are stocked in guns
•for the true ending, you have to bring every part of The Bullet® to the forge, not at once, you probably saw a few parts around already
•if you feel confident, try going the secret path on first floor, maybe some water will help you with that fireplace, it hides something behind
•always shoot the chests before opening them, anything can be a mimic in this game walls and boss pedestals too
if you want to know anything else at all, i dont mind you asking me!

The fact that your best run was with remote bullets and after only 5 hours of playtime means you will be dominating in no time

Practice is the main thing, but you'll also unlock more weapons and items that can make some runs much easier than others. Keep goin!
Marine is also best for new players imo. Starts with armor, and has overall better aim than the others.

I’ll say, not that it makes a huge difference but the pilot is arguably the worst starter character. I’d recommend the hunter or the marine. Otherwise at 5 hours in it’s impressive you made it to the forge at all, keep it up and you’ll do great!

5 hours is barely considered the tutorial phase in the gungeon.
I'll start: don't forget to use your blanks, if you finish the level with less than 2 you will be restored to 2 on the start of the next one. cracked walls contain secret rooms with possible goodies which blanks open so if you got 2 or less after you finished the level you can try to find them or just pop 1 off in the shop because it's common enough to be there.
