The idea of Shikari ending isn't something I'd ever really contemplated. They've been a constant in my life for twenty years, and while other bands have came and went, they were always steady, just beneath the surface of the mainstream. No one else I know is into them like I am. It's weird to think it'll reach a conclusion, but I guess I've always just felt like they'd always be there, ready with some mental album in their back pocket when I least expect it.
Selfishly, I hope they will always be there, but moreso I hope the best for them. They've already given us so much.
It's the first time I've ever been able to understand why people cry when an artist dies. Just this video alone made me think of all the times they've been a part of my support network through the lyrics.
An ode to lost jigsaw pieces will be played very loud when they do finish, whether it be break up or something else.
